Alain got new boots, so I figured I’d take him out back and shoot him. (Ironically, I couldn’t get a good full body shot.)

Lestat and Louis relationship seems to be so cute in this book
It is really cute it’s BIZARRE but I’m eating this shit up ngl
UMM... (I just finished btw) and I guess my favorite moment was... there’s a scene where they’re sitting in a cafe in New Orleans and Lestat is rambling about why he loves/needs Louis, LIKE OUT LOUD, and I’m really such a sucker for bursts of honest communication like that with ships that don’t verbalize their feelings very often. I posted a little bit of that part, but the whole passage is pretty long, like 2 pages almost of Lestat just telling Louis all the reasons he wants them to stay together permanently. They go into this conversation on the pretext that Lestat is historically not good with being stationary or committed, obviously, but Lestat believes he is capable of some permanence now and wants Louis to believe him. I think Louis is leaving a little bit of room for doubt, because he’s honestly been waiting on a permanent, stable relationship with Lestat for a long time and has never gotten it (Lestat actually thinks on this too before this scene*), but of course he wants to believe and give the benefit of the doubt and he’s always made himself available when Lestat needed him. Anyways at the end of the scene they’re both on board and for the rest of the book, Louis is almost always present when Lestat is present, which was SO nice. Louis is really a plot-driving, pivotal character with tons of appearances in this book and I’m pretty happy.

Do Lestat and Louis kiss in Realms of Atlantis?
Yeah! Nothing flowery like in PL but it’s cute, Lestat buys Louis a bunch of clothes and Louis wears some and Lestat loses his fucking mind, as you do

Quote
You were there when all these streets ran with mud and river water, and when you and I went to see 'Macbeth' onstage, and I couldn’t stop dancing under the streetlamps afterwards reciting the words, ‘Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow,’ and Claudia thought I was so handsome and so witty and so clever, and we would all of us always be safe, you were there.
