The Big Picture

The scary thing about faith is that you can only see what is directly in front of you. It’s hard to see past your problems and into God’s promises. Joshua saw a wall. Moses saw a sea. Paul and Silas saw a cell. Peter saw a storm. In the moment you can only see what’s right in front of you, but God sees the big picture. We know that Joshua’s wall came down, Moses parted the Red Sea, Paul and Silas were released from jail, and Peter walked on water; but in the moment all they saw was a wall, a sea, a cell, and a storm. Maybe all you can see right now is your storm, and you’re struggling to believe that God will calm it. Don’t waste another moment worrying about your bad situation. Change your perspective from what you can see right in front of you, and let God be your peace until the “peace be still”.

Me: currently watching vine compilations and eating ice cream knowing that I should be working on two chemistry packets and a history research paper.

Brain: (fully aware that I am going to regret not working on these assignments and they are going to be late. Being late causes my grades to go down. Which then causes me to fight even harder to bring them back up)

Brain: hey... hey you... you should really get a head start on these assignments. Don't ya think?? You don't wanna save all of this till the last minute... right?

Me: naaaaaah. I'll be fine. (Proceeds to procrastinate even more)
