the road to el dorado was the most queer coded dreamworks movie out of all of them. miguel and tulio were written to be lovers and we’re going to be portrayed as such in a subtextual way, however they couldn’t do that due to the societal views on queer relationships, so they had to introduce Chel, a hypersexualized female character to subside the negative public opinion and the opinion of the higher ups at the studio. however, in 2019 this movie would’ve been perfectly fine. the gays deserve ‘the road to el dorado 2’ where miguel and tulio are the gay lovers they were intentionally meant to be. in this essay i will
