Tuesday, 25 December 2018. Christmas Eve we left at 4:15 am to drive north to catch the tail end of a recent swell. There was snow on the beach - the water & air were pretty chilly. And while I wish we lived in a MUCH balmier climate, the day was perfect.... we spent true quality time, talking, laughing & sliding. Days like this are a gift... growing up & growing old with this man is my daily gift. Monday, 12 November 2018. I took this photo of my love @modeece 6 October 2018 while on a surf trip to New England with our friend @million_dollar_matt . It was a beautiful, sunny day with mild temperatures.... we had a morning full of fun slides, lots of laughter & all around good times that entire weekend. None of that would have been possible without the artificial disc replacement surgery @modeece had in Germany three years ago on this date. There would not have been long trips in the van. There would not have been walking on uneven surfaces or cobblestone beaches. There would have been zero surfing. Maneuvering himself to get out of bed in the morning took 20 minutes. Getting out of the car took deliberate thought. Sneezing brought him to his knees. So many little & big movements we take for granted were effected by his deteriorating back condition. The #ADR surgery on his L3-L4 & L5-S1 has been a miracle, enabling us to live our beautiful life I am eternally grateful for.
