Remus whose love language is physical touch but people don't like to touch him bc he is stinky and gross even on the rare occasion he tries to clean himself so he is just super touch starved all the time x Logan who doesn't care bc they are imaginary so its not like he will get sick or anything and they like to cuddle a lot and he sometimes cries when Logan cuddles with him but he will never admit it and ajhskhkdfhlkshf (I like intrulogical in case you can't tell)

begging the fanders who are critiquing the janus makeup vid to think critically abt their complaints for a moment

(this is not to say that thomas is un-critique-able, just that the complaints ive been personally seeing are easily explained by general inferences made about the characters' personalities)

firstly: "janus doing the makeup makes it so that his scales arent canonical!" explanation: the beginning of the video, janus says he's in his "thomas disguise." he's doing his makeup in THOMASS BODY, to "LOOK LIKE HIMSELF." it can be assumed that when he snaps into his normal clothes, he's rid himself of the makeup and what we're seeing are his canonical scales.

next: "please take roman and janus's fight seriously! why isnt janus upset??? i want this to be more than a cat fight!" explanation: WHAT about janus makes you think he'd be vulnerable about a fight he had on camera while doing his makeup. please think about that for a moment. from what we know about both janus and roman, their entire dynamic is insensitive vs oversensitive. offensive vs easily offended. AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, doesn't care at all vs cares too much. that last dynamic is what i specifically think will be explored in the finale, but janus - from everything we know about him, and even in the makeup video - refuses to care about things. sure, it's a part of his sassy persona, but not caring about things is a defense mechanism, and one that janus very clearly relies on. mocking roman in a video and then refusing to address it (which would be weird of him to do anyway in a LIGHTHEARTED MAKEUP VIDEO) is very in-line with his personality. very genuinely - could you really look me in the eye and tell me it'd be MORE in character for janus to sort of tear up and look away and be uncomfortable with the idea of roman? absolutely not.

last: "janus was very out of character! he was laughing and stuff!" explanation: you mean in the grey sections? the sections that are very much meant to be interpreted as bloopers? bro

again: this isnt to say thomas is exempt from criticism, and there have been critiques of his videos that i have agreed with in the past. but these couple have especially been bothering me because of how clear their answers were not only in the characters' personalities, but within the video itself!

if anybody has any other criticisms, id be very open to hearing them! but these were my two cents

i personally really enjoyed the video. i thought it was very silly, which im pretty sure was it's intention, and i hope that more people got enjoyment out of it than what i've been seeing. very funny; i enjoy the shorter, more lighthearted videos just as much as i do the more lore-focused ones.

i find it funny how janus throws shade at roman in the makeup tutorial as if he wasn’t the one who started their beef and as if he wasn’t the one who basically ruined roman’s life for his own personal gain 😭

there’s something to be said about the fact that janus is the most professional out of all the sides. i genuinely think that he’s the only side playing his part because it’s his job, and not because he has any personal feelings attached.

virgil showed signs of genuinely wanting to be accepted and loved by thomas and the other sides. logan definitely values thomas’s validation a lot and becomes sad when he doesn’t get that validation. remus.. might actually be the second most professional side. but since he seems to work under janus (janus sending him over to thomas and telling him what to do), i guess a lot of that professionalism comes from janus himself. remus isn’t as stupid as he seems obviously, but he doesn’t have a clear-cut agenda like janus does.

i just think it’s interesting to see a side who is only concerned with thomas’s well-being because it’s their job and they want to do a good job. even janus’s frustration at thomas not taking his advice and later his excitement about thomas acknowledging his points came off to me as someone dealing with their kinda shitty boss (no offense to c!thomas, i just imagine that’s how janus views him lol). of course, janus has some fun at his job but i mean, i would too if no one ever listened to me and i’m automatically labelled as the bad guy.

all of this is slowly beginning to change since janus seems to be getting closer to patton but i guess we’ll have to wait and see if they actually become friends or if they’re more like coworkers on friendly terms.

So someone gave me a doodle idea for Remus working on an art project and I got a silly idea

Sometimes in the middle of the night, my brain likes to think of a super creepy face at the end of my bed and freak me out, so maybe he likes to paint stuff like that in his spare time

Long post/cosplay ramble:

So Roman's katana has been on my radar ever since I first got into TSS (I'm Nikkei* and I'll take literally any opportunity I can find to work my heritage into any given cosplay hehe)

I initially wanted to do some sort of samurai!Roman but I got caught up with the armor and everything and just felt way too intimidated by all the research and thought it was way too much effort.

Well

Since then, I've learned a lot about samurai apparel outside of armor and had a lot of Realizations and so on. And yesterday, I was struck with the perfect design for a samurai!Roman cosplay 🤩

First, a vocab lesson:

*Nikkei = anyone of any Japanese descent living outside the country of Japan; Japanese diaspora. In my case, I am of mixed Japanese and white descent born, raised, and currently living in the USA

My initial thought was to perfectly mirror my Roman cosplay (red hakama, white hakamashita), but upon doing some research it seemed like that particular color combo is only worn by miko (shrine maidens). So I decided it would be better to avoid that.

I really don't want to wear white hakama bc I know it'll be a MESS, but alas, we all must make sacrifices for art. So white hakama, red hakamashita. I think that will work well with what I have in mind for the haori.

Instead of a traditional Japanese haori, I'm gonna get an open prince jacket (you know, as opposed to a closed on like Disney princes wear) and— here's the fun part— use Roman's emblems as the kamon!

I think that's a smart, respectful move bc obviously "Sanders" wouldn't have a Japanese family crest and I don't really feel that it would be appropriate for me to design or wear one anyway because that's. not my family name. My Japanese family name also doesn't have a kamon (that I could find) and I'd also be hesitant on using it to cosplay a white dude (that's more personal preference). But then I remembered that every sign has a canonical symbol/crest! So I think it's gonna look super cool!

If I could draw, I'd draw a picture bc I know it's gonna look dope as hell. But I can't, so I'm setting for making this post 😆

(Obligatory Nuance Paragraph:

None of this clothing is considered "closed" or inherently religious or off limits in any way. There are respectful avenues for people of all racial and ethnic identities to access and wear traditional Japanese clothing, that is, you don't have to "earn" the right to wear it. If you're not Japanese, the only thing I would watch out for is the kamon— don't wear a kamon that isn't yours without first researching if it would be appropriate to do so).

i wanna make an ask blog for my favorite sanders sides au i’ve ever made but like

i’m nervous cuz it’s very dark in some aspects

and though it’s not necessarily the characters being out of character, some of the characters are in certain positions that would make them act differently than they usually would in canon so i feel like people won’t like it

regarding my post about perfectionist roman, another thing i've noticed is that people often portray logan as the one who values his work over his health and stay up late working overtime when. the logic vs passion video is literally all about roman telling thomas that it's okay to sacrifice sleep (and to ignore friends) in favor of working hard and getting to the top, and logan being the one desperately urging thomas to put his health and well-being first.
