“Blur at the cosy cafe which was roughly where the Olympic running center is now in the #queenelizabetholympicpark. Back when that was a magical, industrial wasteland full of intrigue and mystery: hard to remember, even if you were there then.

On this day I was shooting blur’s press pictures at my studio #theperoufactory in #hackneywick and around.

Just as we set up for this shot and I was about to shoot, Damon Albarn answered his phone and walked off to talk about football with someone, for about 20mins, leaving me and the rest of the band waiting for him to come back.

At least he came back.

This was pre everyday/everything photoshop and was retouched by someone else using a scitex machine(?) ”

Damon Albarn: The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows tour

Iceland is a unique country, filled with an abundance of natural beauty; glaciers, volcanoes, thermal springs, mountains and stunning headlands, stretching across two continents; a land where tectonic plates meet.

This new piece from Albarn, a frequent visitor to Iceland for almost three decades, will see the musician perform his first solo work in over five years, with an ensemble of orchestra instrumentation, electronics, vocals, as well as visuals by Icelandic filmmakers capturing the changing seasons, with Icelandic vocals and recordings of natural sounds and instruments.

The title of the piece is taken from a John Clare poem, Love and Memory.
