Madellaine stared at him for a moment. “Who considers poisoning someone after being upset a little bit? That seems a bit extreme, to be honest.” She smiled as he scraped the noodles off the bottom of the pot. “The sauce seems to be done. How about you taste it? I want to make sure you like it too.”
Hans didn’t mind working for big things like becoming king, but for little things like getting food it seemed so tiring. “"It would be awfully nice for you to just hand it to me though.” He stuck his tongue back out at her.
Hans grabbed a pot and filled it with water

“You’re doing pretty well, actually,” Madellaine said. “You’re just not used to it yet. And I’m sure, aside from your brothers, and possibly the Queen and Princess of Arendelle, there’s not anybody that would poison you.” She smiled at her friend. “Now, could you make sure the noodles don’t stick to the bottom of the pot? I’m going to make some sauce.”
“Yup,” she said. “I don’t make you work as hard as some people would, but I’m not just going to hand it to you.”
She stuck her tongue out at the prince. “Now, you get the water boiling, and I’ll prepare the sauce.”

“Well, think about it this way,” she explained, “if you help MAKE the food, nobody can sneak things you don’t like into it. Or, you know, poison, but that’s beside the point.” She smiled brightly at her friend. “Helping shows you care, too.”
Madellaine giggled. “You still kind of ARE getting your food cooked for you,” she said.

((I feel like a crappy, crappy RP partner right now. I am so sorry, you guys. I will try so hard to do better from now on.))
OOC - Apologies
I am so sorry that I haven’t been very present recently… On ANY of my pages (Madellaine, Megara, Adella). I’ve been going through a lot, and just couldn’t bring myself to log in more than a couple times a week, and I usually only logged in on Madellaine, since she has the most consistent posts/asks.
In mid-April I started a new job, and it might only be Thursday/Saturday, Friday, and Sunday, but with the level of anxiety I’ve had recently, it’s been really hard for me. It takes me the rest of the week to rest up from those three (sometimes four) days.
Again, I am so, so sorry to all the people that I’m supposed to be RP-ing with, and mostly to the DFD page itself. My signing up with them, I was mentally promising (if not actually, according to their rules [if they even have that rule anymore]) that I would try to be online at least two days a week.
To lighten my load, I’m deleting my Adella page (or at least passing it on to somebody that will take good care of the character).

“You’re reall you oodles a hiding it then, me, not so much. I care what others think and that is pretty apparent.”
“See, I’m still not used to having to make my own food. Usually I would just go down to the kitchen and there would be food prepared forme. There would be no choosing.”

Madellaine giggled. “You still kind of ARE getting your food cooked for you,” she said.
She smiled. “I’m glad you think that,” she said. “I do actually care a lot what other people think, but I try not to show it.”
“And, you’d be pretty hungry about now,” Madellaine giggled. “I seem to be the one suggesting food recently, don’t I?”

“You’re probably right,” she said, giggling. “Just imagine what other people would think with us slipping silly words into normal conversation.”
She thought for a moment. “Well, we could have some kind of pasta, if you’d like. I’m alright at making that, I suppose.”
“Good then. Well…I mean I dint expect too much from you but I still did expect it to taste good. Just because I really don’t think you’re that bad at cooking.”
“I did not know that. Yet another joke that I did not know was a joke.”

She thought for a moment. “Honestly, I can’t think of a word we don’t use in regular conversation just now.” She smiled. “Can you?”
Heading into the kitchen, she switched thought processes. “What are we having for dinner again?”
“I don’t expect much, I promise,” Madellaine giggled. “You didn’t expect much from my breakfast this morning, did you? It’s only fair that I don’t expect much from you either.”
She nudged the prince and smiled at him. “I’ll help you, anyway,” she said. “I was only kidding about you cooking it alone, you know.”

Madellaine sighed. “Still not so good at joking, are we?” She giggled. “Maybe we need to have a silly word we use in our jokes, so we both know we’re joking. That might help.”
Madellaine laughed. “I can help you a little, if you want, but it IS your turn.” She bumped her shoulder into his playfully.
“Thanks again for buying this book for me,” she said softly, squeezing the book closer to her chest, as if it might try to run away. “You’re a good friend.”

“I try” he shrugged. "I really don’t think we should meet. He’s probably furious with me over what I did to Anna anyway. Even if we’d have a lot in commonness i don’t think I’m ready to meet the guy who actually has Anna’s heart.”

“Look at you, all accepting and such,” Madellaine said, nudging him. “Maybe you should meet him. The two of you might have more in common than you think. You know, aside from his being a commoner and you being a prince.”

“Actually,” Madellaine said, a bit embarrassed. “I’m not sure of my surname. I don’t remember much from my past at all, you see. So, really, it could be anything.”
Madellaine smiled at the girl, looking so wide-eyed and relieved at the same time. “Oh, I’m sure I would’ve slipped anyway. I’m not all that good at balancing.” She giggled. “We have a few animals, but mostly just the horses that pull our wagons.”
Madellaine’s eyes widened at the length of the young girl’s name. “Wendy Moira Angela Darling,” she repeated. “Well, I’m just Madellaine. Your name is beautiful, really.”
She smiled at the girl. “Thank you. I don’t feel very impressive when I slip and fall like I did, though. And magic is wonderful, and can also be very dangerous,” she said. “He’s never sawed me in half, though. And I’m very glad of that.” she laughed. “I’m just the pretty face that presents the tricks. I hand him the hat, gesture grandly, and smile.”
She demonstrated. “Like so.”

“You’d do that for me?” Madellaine was touched. The book did mean a lot to her, but she didn’t expect Hans to understand. She didn’t have much memory of her past, so she clung to things she could remember. “Thank you so much.” She flung her arms out and hugged the surprised prince.
Walking out of the store, she remembered what they had been talking about. “You know, it is possible that she truly loves this guy. You can’t help who you fall for, you know,” she reminded him. “Who knows, maybe he’ll know more about how to run a country than she would.”
She smiled and shrugged. “We common people could probably think up some ways to improve what’s being done.” Madellaine suddenly remembered who she was talking to. “Not that a good job isn’t already being done, I’m just saying... Maybe a little less extravagance, a little more kindness? You know, wars and all. Taxes. Seems like we could have less of both. Learn to get along?”
“Anyway, maybe he’d be good asset to their kingdom,” she mused, getting back to her original point. “The view of a common person taken to heart by the rulers could be a good thing.”
Madellaine scurried about the shop, nose deep in several books, looking for something, but not knowing quite what. She thought she heard both Hans and the shopkeeper laughing as she nudged past them to touch everything on the shelves.
Finally, she had seen, smelled, and opened every book in the shop, and pulled out the oldest, most damaged looking book in the shop. The cover was hanging by threads, and almost every page had water damage on it. “It’s a storybook,” she explained to Hans. “I might not remember much from my childhood, but I remember this.” She held it close to her chest and sighed. “I wonder how much he wants for it…”
It would break her heart to have to put the familiar stories back on the shelf and leave it there. ‘It’s probably more than I have,’ she thought to herself.
