In need of some help!

Okay so, i'll try to keep this short (although i'm nervous and ashamed of making this post aa).

I recently got prescribed this ADHD pill that actually helped me a lot, but for some personal reasons my dad, who is the one who buys my meds, is refusing to buy it again because i'm not studying nor working, so he thinks i don't need it. yes i tried to explain it to him that the pill helps me function, to which he says it's bullshit, so after a lot of thinking and pondering i decided to set up a goal on Kofi. I'm not really an artist nor have the skills to do art, so there's no commissions nor anything at all, just a goal that i hope i can reach. Any amount of donations is welcome and very appreciated, and if you can't donate sharing this post is also very appreciated!

I imagine writing scenes in a plot for a dating sim story is a lot like writing a "choose your own adventure" book.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, cause I have not actually written out the dating sim I want to make yet, but I have been thinking about the plot intensively enough that I've already figured out the 5 main general endings.

The way I figured out those endings alongside the scenes that are there is that... well, at first, I had a bunch of disjointed ideas. But, over time, as I let the basic idea of the plot simmer in my subconsciousness like a stew, I weeded out which plot points could work in the worldbuilding I had built, and which I needed to just throw away (unfortunate; it's like throwing away a baby. But it's necessary).

Once you have your world's rules set in stone, then you gotta start from the beginning of your plot, and make a general map of key moments that lead to different timelines; aka different decisions made by the player. Depending on what you allow the player to do during those key moments, then you just think about how each choice changed the timeline. And realistically write how your characters react from there.

You're essentially building a hydra here, where the key moments lead to two (or more) endings of the plot to happen in that specific moment. Maybe the good ending is specific, or maybe you (as the author) decide that there's a limited amount of screw-ups that the player is allowed before they get locked out of their wanted ending. It's your decision.
