In 1994 my mother stood in the voting line in Orlando, Soweto so our lives could be better!! Today I tried to understand how she must've felt! We arrived to PTA at 4:30am and waited for the bus to take us to the Monument Building! I don't think I've ever been so determined to complete something in my life this much! The people in the queues were so happy and proud to be a part of the day! Many people, black and white, stood patiently with their children playing in the grass! Unlike the 1994 Elections, everyone was on the same side!! There was a sense of unity! We were One once more!! Finally we got to the Monument Buildings 12 hours later! I got a glimpse of what it must've felt like to be in that line! I also got to pay my #Respect to the #Father of our nation! I got to be in line in behalf of my entire family so that they can experience this occasion through Me! #RIPTata Im so glad I finally met you!

I recently spotted my mom in the #Invictus movie! This footage was actually taken in 1994 and she was queuing to vote in Orlando, SA. I had a conversation with her about this and she told me how determined she was to make her mark as she understood that her little "X" would change the world that he lived in! Am today because of people like my mother who stood for hours in lines so we could all be free! Im Proud to be your son mom!!
