#Repost @theblackmancan ・・・ Aiming for closer father-and-child relationships, Dade Middle School in South Dallas started a “Breakfast with Dads” event. + But many dads just couldn’t make it and some kids had never had a father figure in their life. So the school put out a plea on Facebook for 50 volunteers to stand as surrogate fathers. + The word spread quickly. Men from all kinds of different backgrounds and various parts of Dallas arrived at the prearranged date and time. In total, 600 additional ‘fathers’ showed up. + All were inspired by the idea in a different way - some wanted to teach kids skills they need in their everyday life, others giving advice for a future profession. + Excited, the school plans more events to strengthen up not only father-and-child relationships but build a closer connection with the local community as well. #fatherhood #theblackmancan #mentoringmatters #kings #dallas #texas #globalpositivenews
