“THIS GIRL IS ON FIRE, BREAKING THROUGH EVERY BARRIER”

My niece, Hannah Fel G. Artiaga, is a 15-year-old grade 9 student at Baybay High School. At the age of five, we noticed her passion for tumbling and splits. She said she learned by watching gymnasts on YouTube. During elementary school, she began training and competed in numerous cluster meet and city meet. Now in high school, she's even more focused on gymnastics, pushing herself daily to improve her skills and maintain her performance. She was inspired by world gymnastics champion Carlos Yulo, Hannah competed in the EVRAA (Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association) competition in Ormoc City on May 6, 2024, and although she didn't win a medal, she didn't give up, her passion for gymnasts is still on fire. Last month, February 6, 2025, she competed in the EVRAA in Tacloban City, earning two silver and one bronze medal. As her tita, I'm incredibly proud of her; at a young age, she accomplished so much as an athlete and even an honor student. Even though she combined athletics with her studies, she never gives up on her dreams. I'm really impressed by her.
“Hard work is essential for young gymnasts; those who persevere become champions”.
She knew that the path to victory was paved with sweat and tears, but she embraced the challenge, knowing that the rewards were worth the struggle. Her perseverance wasn't just about winning medals; it was about proving to herself, and to the world, that hard work truly does conquer all. And as she continued to train, she felt not only physically stronger, but mentally tougher, more resilient, and more determined than ever before. The journey itself became a source of immense pride and satisfaction, shaping her into a young woman of remarkable strength and character.

“A CHILDHOOD REMEMBERED”
I had always thought of going back to those childhood days, not to change anything but to feel few things twice." It has taught me the memorable experience of fear, shame, pain, loss, freedom, forgiveness, happiness, kindness, emotions, achievements which I could not find anywhere else. These things made my today better and help me in stepping ahead each day of my life. In my childhood, I failed many times and seen some worst days in my life, but in all stages, my family was always standing with me. They taught me what was right and what was wrong, Despite of thing about society and what other people will think about them and that made me strong enough to stand on my own in this world.
