I was right the animated role is NIMONA!!! Yay Eugene!! 

Nimona, which had been cancelled d/t studio closure, was picked up by Netflix. It lives again! This will be Eugene’s first role in an animated film. So happy for him!!!

The WAY I have been scouring the internet for news about any 2022 animated movie Eugene could be leading that will feature LGBT+ leads but I can’t find a darn thing. Before Nimona was canned due to Blue Sky’s closure I thought it was Nimona. But unless those rights got picked up by Annapurna and they’re keeping it quiet, I truly have no idea what movie Eugene could be lending his voice to.

The novel we knew about, the graphic novel we guessed. The TV show could be the Food Network show but maybe isn’t?? And the film I have no idea. Ned said Eugene’s projects were basically all writing based so maybe a screenplay?

Eugene has a habit of following people on insta that he’s either working with or about to work with (in addition to people he meets at events that he must think are nice, drag queens, big celebs, regular degular friends, etc). He recently followed the CEO of Valor comics and someone from Netflix. 

Needless to say this boy has got me real curious about all the projects he’s been working on!! The only one we know about is a novel (stated at the end of the Try Guys documentary).

I’ve shared this photo before but it was super grainy because it was a screengrab from a video of the Try Guys closing number on tour.

This photo is just so sweet. Eugene on Matt’s lap, Matt’s arms around his waist, Eugene clearly in love and Matt so happy. I’m so glad they feel safe sharing this with us 🥺.

Also Eugene acknowledging he ranked Virgos first because Matt is one. Called it!

People are doing too much on Matt’s pics asking flat out if he and Eugene are still together!! 1) That’s not appropriate speculating in that man’s face like that; 2) Matt literally filmed a Try Guys video like 4 days before the trip; 3) Matt is on the trip with Keith and Becky, two of Eugene’s closest friends, and another one of Eugene’s dear friends Cathleen (who helped produce his coming out video) is commenting all nice on his pictures.

Eugene dutifully liking Matt’s Greece pics + Matt liking a comment about how Eugene is lucky to wake up to him every day + Eugene’s tweet about regretting choosing work over vacation is a masterful demonstration of thirst traps at work. Matt really said I’m gonna make you regret not coming on this vacay! 

In all seriousness I hope Eugene doesn’t beat himself up too badly about his choice. He probably felt like he was between a rock and a hard place with personal project deadlines. This is a good life lesson to learn! There is always going to be work - take the trip!

I know Eugene is doing spon con for practical reasons like 1) demonstrating his prowess at creating ad content and 2) earning a little extra money to cover property taxes or the mortgage for a couple months, but Iiiiiiiiii like to pretend that he’s doing them to earn extra money for 3) adoption or surrogacy. 

Because Eugene has said in the past he’d like to have children and honestly I think he and Matt would be wonderful dads.

Feeling nervous about Eugene’s several month absence from Try Guys content. I love their group dynamic so much, and Eugene adds such a nice perspective. I hope he’s able to pop in every once in a while, and that he really does come back once his independent projects are squared away. I think I’m just going to really miss him.

To clarify I always knew Matt was at the Buzzfeed drag show but we just never got a shot with him there until now. David Dang actually has a picture of them at the show way way back on his insta.

It always surprises me when people don’t realize how long Matt has been around! Here’s Matt at the Buzzfeed drag show with David Dang and another one of Eugene’s longtime non-Buzzfeed friends, Huntley (who has appeared briefly in a couple TG’s videos and was also in the 8 Types of Gay Guys I’ve Dated video).

Zach is Eugene’s friend but Keith and Ned are his work husbands and you can’t tell me otherwise.

At 5:23 in this video Matt says Eugene is going to like the vegan sausage because it’s Italian flavored and Matt is Italian and I just feel like we didn’t talk about that interaction enough.
