My first post for the new year and, surprise surprise, it’s Sheith. :^)

So, I was initially going to do this comic for day 4 of Sheith week back in October, but I definitely didn’t have the time.  Started the sketches in late October and I finally finished this over my winter break. :’) my sis would’ve killed me if I just left this sitting in my files  Got a lot of help from my sis with the references ; v ;

The “legend” that Shiro’s talking about was inspired by the Korean drama, Descendants of the Sun.  It’s been almost a year(?) since I watched it haha.

This is phenomenal! These young and beautiful women from Mexico are proud of their African roots. The dance is a peculiar expression of their love and respect for the culture they relate to. These women identified themselves as Black and even made the government include them as Afro-Mexicans in the national census in 2015!

This is what Black Pride means. Very inspiring!

To all of my friends out there and ESPECIALLY my trans friends, if you hadn’t done so now, PLEASE GET A PASSPORT. President Obama made it VERY easy to get your gender marker changed on your passport. All you need is:

- An ID that resembles your current appearance (just get a new photo taken on a driver’s license or ANY government issued ID) - Passport photo that resembles your current appearance (From any drug store)

- Proof of legal name change (if applicable)

- A physician statement that indicates you have either completed or are in process of treatment for gender transition (the hardest part) No surgeries, no red tape, no bullshit. And when people try to harass you or puush you around because “Hahaha your ID says your x” Whip out your passport and shut them DOWN. I carry mine wherever I go and I know a lot of my friends who live in the south do so as well.  This law could VERY easily change under a Trump presidency and I haven’t been as serious about anything as I am about this. PLEASE GET A PASSPORT. Even the passport card (which is half as expensive as the book is!!!) will do. Just please if you can, get ONE ID that matches who you really are.

And I know to be able to get all of this together is a sign of privilege in the first place, and from one black, trans, queer women to all of my vulnerable siblings I will rot in a jail cell before I let this country harm any of us and I this I swear. I will NOT take this lying down. PLEASE Signal Boost!

Less than one day after third party presidential candidate Jill Stein launched a crowdsourced effort to force a recount in Wisconsin, where Donald Trump’s margin of victory over Hillary Clinton was razor thin, the state’s Elections Commission director now says he’s preparing for a recount. Stein began raising money on Wednesday to force recounts in three close swing states, and has already received enough in donations to cover the cost of the Wisconsin recount ahead of the deadline.

Jill Stein’s donation page says it’s already received more than $1.4 million as of 9pm eastern time on Wednesday. According to a new article in the Wisconsin State Journal newspaper, the Stein campaign believes it needs just $1.1 million to cover the cost of a Wisconsin recount, a total that it’s already surpassed. That same Madison-based newspaper reports that “Elections Commission director Michael Haas said Wednesday that the commission is preparing for a recount.” In other words, with a margin of only around 20,000 votes, the recount in Wisconsin is a go. But two other states are still in question and must still be funded.

The Stein effort estimates that the total cost of funding the recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania (which each must be paid for by the campaign requesting the recount) will be around $2.5 million. That means she’ll need to raise at least another million dollars before the upcoming recount deadlines in Michigan and Pennsylvania. But, according to the above named election official in charge in Wisconsin, that state is already making preparations for a recount based on Stein’s effort.

UPDATE (10:47 PM): The campaign is now over $1,700,000, only $800,000 short of raising the full $2.5 million. Get your popcorn ready, everyone! This is about to get interesting.
