Destiny

For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin--real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin....

Greetings everyone! I have been into teaching for more than a decade and whatever impression I have of the teaching learning processes and the changes that have been done is very extensive and perhaps that is the need of the hour. For the matter of fact We, the teachers and the students both have gone through a very unlikely pandemic which have drastically changed the convention methods of teaching and learning. We all adapted new methods for teaching and learning explored the unexplored areas of technology and somehow sustained the education in the country.
As far as I believe our country is going through a paradigm shift which requires the boost up in the current education system. The are many government initiatives which are intended to bring out the best from the young minds of our mind yet I believe there one area which is needed to be taken care of more than anything else and that is Sensitising the youth about the importance of building a good character and have compassion for all living beings and environment and respecting our own culture and heritage. Now a days IT Companies are running all sorts of programs to take out these things from the youth and turn them into a an antisocial and insensitive elements from which they can improve their economic just for the sake of modernization so just to sum up I would say the most difficult challenge for future education is to imbibe Good values and sense of humanity in the youth of our country.

Whom to blame?
I just came across a quote a few days ago-  “If you want an easy life Don’t be a Teacher, be something else like a Rocket Scientist or a Neurosurgeon”
Quite Fascinating, being a teacher, it gives a different level of satisfaction and pride for your job when you read it. Basically, it implies that in today's scenario the job of a teacher needs more efforts than the efforts put in complicated professions like rocketry of neurology. That means teachers are working harder than a scientist or Doctor which is quite evident. I also came across lot of beautiful quotes and messages this teacher's day one of my favorite was Teaching is a profession that creates other profession so it should get the highest level of respect in the society but then when I see this above-mentioned quote which contradicts this belief and signifies that a life of a teacher is not at all easy, forget about being easy infact It's the toughest in the business. now how come that so, is it the government, society or the corporate world that is making life difficult for a teacher because as far as I am concerned Teaching a noble profession it should be enjoyed the society requires happy teachers who love their job who doesn't believe it to be a tough job or doesn't have to struggle every day to put in their show, for me teaching-learning a very simple activity and t can come from anywhere. we Indian possesses a rich history of Guru-Shishya culture and ample of stories where teaching learning used to take place spontaneously without any hindrance and fear. But look at today's situation teaching has been a tough job and amount of struggle a teacher faces in order to deliver something good to the society cannot be measured and still we have to demand our respect, seek nods everywhere full fill the requirements of every single person. Well frankly speaking when I started my career as a teacher It was my bread and butter so I can say It was not a choice rather an option but then it went on and on till i realized the importance a good teacher in the society. Talking about when i look back and see how i came this far, it is all because I have been blessed to have good teachers throughout my studies call it a destiny or whatever but it's true. one of my teachers used to say the future of this county is not looking bright because it is not going to get good teacher and the reason which I understand now is this profession is looked as such that nobody wants to become a teacher and the reason is there in the image itself which i shared above so the question is whom to blame...?
Whatever I wrote is an internal monologue of my subconscious mind which I thought to share to start the second innings of my blog
Do share your views and opinion on this.

Technology can be deceptive
We are living in a world where knowledge is at our fingertips whatever information we want, we can get it so easily unlike old times when we had to go through several books or search old newspapers to find a small bit of information. We feel so blessed to be living in this era because it has made our life so easy can comfortable that we don’t have to make much efforts for gaining any sort of knowledge. But somewhere down the line I believe that though the advancement of the technology has made the world more connected where news gets spread with the speed of light and within minutes the whole world comes to know what’s going on at the other part of the world yet I believe it has also made it very easy for certain people to spread rumours, fool other people by sharing false facts and figures and the worst part is that so called netizens(those who use Internet) believe it like anything. They hardly feel the need to verify the shared information or check on the authenticity of the shared sources. Internet is full of knowledge but at the same time It is full of garbage information, fake news and false facts that could easily mislead any individual. It all depends on us what we take from it. Almost every day I come across some fake news or false facts being spread on any social media platform be it WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram. I ignore all of it but some times I feel pity on those people who seem to have engrossed those stuff and later on present it to others in their contacts who are not necessarily on social media. Using technology it becomes very easy for people with bad intentions to trick you, fool you and feed you with wrong information which may cause disturbance in the society you are living in. So I would just like to urge people reading this to use technology wisely and Please Do not lose your intellect just because Google is providing you all your answers, Filter whatever information you receive, make sure it is from a reliable source and authenticate it before you spread it to others. You are the wisest species on this planet Act like one!

Innings break
Here I am, having completed the 1st innings of the Test match of my life. Why I am saying 1st innings is over because somewhere in my mind I had decided to keep it as an innings break at thirties. And before I could go on start my second innings I would like to a moment and have a quick recap. Life has been a roller coaster ride for me there have been many highs and lows, many rises and falls, sometimes creeping like snail or sometimes running like a horse in the race course trying to leave others behind.  It has been an unimaginable journey for me so far.
Now when I look back and see where I started and where I am, Seriously speaking it was never on the cards  actually I don’t know what was exactly there on the cards so just take it as God’s will
Well talking about the first innings, it wasn’t that easy as it has never been the conditions remain testing, there are lot of bouncers upfront where we hardly know what to know except ducking it, there were very less chances to play shorts of your choice, have to bat according to the conditions and get yourself set. It has not been easy for me too to settle, have played some loose shots, lost my all-important wickets but survived somehow. Kept ticking and I guess it paid off as I believe cause nevertheless it has not been a bad first inning, doesn’t matter to what it appears to other people but for me if it’s not that good it couldn’t have been better cause in the end what matters is whether I personally enjoyed my innings or not. And I would say yes I did. Though it’s not as good as I would have liked it to be but again it can’t be also. So no regrets. Cheers to my first innings. Now I have to gear up for the all-important second innings of my life where I have to be more careful and need a more planned approach which was missing in the first innings.

Never enough
Over the years life has offered me so much than I can ever be thankful of, it seems like everything has been pre planned for me. it’s so amazing when I look back and see where I was and where I am right now but then there comes a time when following the same routines over and over again removes the excitement and fun from life. There are times when I have to ask myself am I happy within? Is it the way I wanted to live my life? I must admit whenever this happened I have been provided the change, the change which I was looking for, the change which gives me the sense of evolution and for that as I said I don’t have enough words to say to the almighty, my master the one who is taking control of my destiny, again remembering one of the lines of the movie life of pie which goes pretty similar to my life too it states-“Even when God seemed to have abandoned me, he was watching. Even when He seemed indifferent to my suffering, He was watching and when I was beyond all hope of saving... He gave me rest and gave me a sign to continue my journey...” that’s all I can say anyway this has been a year of some remarkable changes some drifts from the boring path some new hopes. I am teaching science to students, have been included in schools co-curricular committee and with that comes whole lot of things to do, to experience and make memories.
Recently We came back from a school tour of Daly college for an IPSCMUN conference. Again I find myself very lucky to be chosen to go along with the team, it was a wonderful tour, visiting DC itself was very amazing thing and that too for an event like MUN which gives a sense of real world and the happenings, Indeed it became a very special thing for me, a lot to learn, a lot to think upon and a lot of those moments spent in Indore city. The tour was almost cancelled when the efforts of few individuals and fate took a turn and made it possible for us. Overcoming all the hurdles on the way I along with ten students and another teacher to accompany left for Indore city on 27th night. It was an overnight journey but only thing which was troubling us that the reservation was in sleeper class as it was done at the last moment, never mind we were determined to go, and as we say fortune favours the brave, we got our compartment vacant enough to complete the journey without any trouble at all.
Having reached station, the school bus waiting for us to take to school but we had to wait there for more than an hour as the bus was supposed to take other schools to an believe me that one hour was the only time spent in Indore when we have felt bored . As the bus reached the gate of DC, the eyes of everyone was lit up, though we have been told its castle its very huge and all but seeing it with own eyes was different. We were the first team to arrive, we have been given temporary stay at the guest house as the dorms were not ready. We got fresh had tea and then later on shifted to the respective dormitories. We had still had a lot of free time as the event was to begin from next day. In the evening we took a tour of the campus, the beautiful cricket ground and pavilion and clicked some photographs. We wanted some sightseeing to go out of the campus on cab. The RAJAWADA, the local visiting place was closed by then, we were told that nearest to that there is a market which is famous for food. So we went there and had a taste of the food indoor is famous for after that we came back to the school and before departing gave the instructions to all the children about the next day. Though everyone was very tired but I doubt some of the students slept early, some of them were busy preparing for tomorrow while some wanted to enjoy the freedom of not being watched.
The next day we assembled at the dining hall for breakfast and then went for the registrations from where all the students were divided into groups to join their respective committee for introductory session as it was new for many students especially for our students to be precise. After that we all gathered in the school auditorium for the opening ceremony. Waiting for the chief guest eagerly, we have been told that DC has a reputation of inviting big celebrities. After a few moments the chief guest arrived I could recognise her the first place though others can’t as I saw her in the Times of India Show during my college. She happens to be an advocate and social activist Mrs.Abha Singh. It was nice listening to her views on reservations of seat in parliament for women. After that the Model of United nation was declared open by the secretory general. Everyone went back to their respective committee leaving all the escort teacher alone in the library. We were very curious to know the proceedings of the committee so time to time we went to different committee rooms and had a check on how our children were performing. It was done on such high scale that we were amazed to see the managing and organizing skills. It went on for the next two days the routine was fixed for students though we the escort teachers were free, we roamed around in campus and time to time checked into the committee rooms too. In between these three days we realized that our students stand nowhere in comparison to other schools. On the closing ceremony we dint have any expectations of getting any sort of recognition in while sharing the chair with countries top schools.
By evening most of the schools left the campus, we decided to spent some time enjoying campus after dinner, we discussed the outcome and the learnings of them MUN, chilled the mood with some games and went back. The next whole day we were free as our train was at night so we went to a mall and watched a movie together and spent whole day in the mall, visiting different floors though most of the time was spent in 5thfloor reason having flood plaza and other attractions. We came back to school packed our bags and the bus took us to the station. This time we were more relaxed as we had AC reservations. The journey completed in two phases as had to get down at Vadodara station from where we had our connecting train after a gap of an hour. When we reached station the parents were eagerly waiting for their child to take them home, I too along with the hostel students came back to school. Though it ended but the tour was so exciting and full of learning and experience that the memories still appears in the faded form in front of our eyes.
That’s all for now I shall take a break from writing, it’s been two hours and I haven’t even stood from my seat, in hope for many more such journeys.  Adios

Ted Talk
Our school planned to introduce a new concept of ted talk to our children. It was fairly a new concept for our children as well as for some of the teachers too as there is no buzz about ted talks in our country until now. I have come across this a few years back during one of the IPSC practices while in search of contents I got to open the Ted’s website and look for its content. It looked impressive in the first glance and it was so rich in content that we can literally find talks on all the social and technological issues on and above earth since then I keep on checking Ted for its wonderful and amazing videos which sometimes help to solve my curiosity and sometimes help me in introducing interesting topics to my students.
However when we were told to organise a show like Ted Talk in our school, it seemed like a herculean task at first just because as I said it was a totally new thing for our children and it was very difficult to find such kids who would opt to deliver a ted talk and at the same time do justice to the event as well. But like it’s said nothing is impossible the only thing that matters is taking the first step. I made a list of some deserving and talented children, introduced them the concept of ted talk, made them realise how important this can be for their future perspective and made sure that they do it with interest.  I selected few children and gave them freedom to prepare a ted talk on a topic of their choice and see how it goes. To my surprise they did a wonderful job from the beginning itself and really shown their interest on that.
The next task was to choose finalize topic for the actual show and for that I told them to prepare a list for five different topics of their choice related to any social or modern issues. Actually I wanted such topics which will connect with the audience and most importantly will make them think and can be useful as well. At last we finalised four very interesting and thought provoking topics which indeed were the best in their own kind.
After that they started working on their script and after some inputs from my side they were ready, my tiny toddlers with their first ever Ted Talk. And believe me it was such a joy watching them perform on stage, their confidence level, their presentation and their improvisation was so awesome that everyone from the audience, be it their fellows, seniors or the teachers felt their presence on stage and appreciated them wholeheartedly. In the end one of them was adjudged the winner but me all four of them were winners. Seeing their dedication and hard work for the program I was so glad, wish they all could have emerged as winners but nevertheless it was not just about winning or losing, It was trying out something new and make everyone believe that they are also no less and not to forget what they spoke were the things that make people think and learn from it. I am pretty sure they are very well prepared for their future endeavours and will do even better.
Sharing with you here is one of the ted talks of my teddy Nived Singh on ‘what if computers get smarter than us’.

Fuzzy world
The world we live in is as uncertain as it can be. The older I get the deeper meaning of this sentence I understand. When we talk about the word ‘world’ it not only refers to the planet we live in or any geographical condition but it also refers to an individual’s surroundings where you are inhibited with the personal and social and spiritual life you are pursuing. The world was never meant to remain same It has been continuously changing since its inception. We all were told “Change is the law of nature” In fact it’s the only law that prolonged ever since the nature appeared to be in its shape so there is no denial. It’s a fuzzy world. You can never be sure of anything be it the people, feelings or things. Well what seems beautiful beginning at some moment can end up as a terrible ending, what seems to be gettable at some point when it goes out of reach you never know, what you thought was your biggest strength may let you down at some point. What you believed to be true since ages may proven to be wrong in seconds. The more we want to make it permanents, the more disappointment and pain we get. There is nothing like permanent people, permanent feelings or permanent relations all break at some point of time. Life is about living in the moments and that’s why the art of living a life full of happiness and contentment lies in the art of letting go. Let go what is not yours, let go what you can’t afford, let go what you can’t handle and let go what you can tolerate and you will remain happy ever after. Welcome the change with open arms and do your best to seize every moment in your life. Well the world around me is also getting fuzzy. Can’t predict what is on the way. Everything is changing considerably whether its family or friends whether it’s personal, social or official lifestyle. I just want to make sure I play my part as good as I can and make the most of moment I am in rest as I said earlier nothing is permanent like everything else came along in my destiny This too shall pass…
