i drew the cover for @feelisezine ! please look at the final pdf link included here !
I wanted to draw something that felt energetic but also a little elegant which led to elise running through the halls of the castle. I also felt like it was important to include Elise's favorite people, and a couple new friends as well. I think I could have done a little better with the foreground colors looking at it now but I also know I agonized over it a bit so at the time I did what worked best. LOL.

Do those on the western side of the canyon call the continent Quirinus? I’m only asking because as a name, it sticks out among the real world equivalents of the languages spoken on that side of the canyon.
Not anymore, or not... really.
"Quirinus" is not used anymore because languages change over time, and it's much easier to refer to Nohr and Hoshido as separate entities. The canyon does not encourage any sense of unity between the two sides and therefore the name fell out of common use.
References to Quirinus are exclusively used to refer to the continent as it was in the Golden Age, before Anankos fucked it all up, before when Nohr wasn't a very big kingdom, and before Hoshido even existed as a nation. It's believed to have been derived from some proto-language with strong ties to the original Vallite, likely Kleo's kingdom or Notre Sagesse.
Post-canon, some people do begin proposing reviving the name Quirinus or some variation of it to give the two sides something to unite under.

People should make more doomed by narratives siblings relationship.
Like with lovers you can just sever it and not have it related to you ever again but with siblings how could you?
You grow up with them you raise them or they raised you you both know how unforgiving the world is to both of you? You would die for them but will hate them for doing the same and yet none of you would regret it and both of you know it. They could be the person you loath the most and miss the most cause you still remember how they sneaked a candy into your hands. You can sever the tie but you can never look away at what you've lost, at whom you've lost because fate doesn't allow you to be together, eating dinners in quiet peace, if only there's another life, another time, where i can make you another plate of pancakes i would im sorry im sorry im sorry —

I died but I came back exactly the same. You though, I came back and you were wrong. Did the fact of my dying really damage you that much? Was bringing me back worth what it cost you? Would it have been better to just leave me?

In au, what are those symbols that represent Nohr, Hoshido, and Valla respectively? Do the represent more than just their respective countries? Where do they come from?
They're national crests, or emblems, if you will, that you'll find on army standards, nobori, or formal correspondence.
Hoshido's crest is an abstract representation of the sun, which was closely associated with the Dawn Dragon, Dion, also known as Haruto in Hoshido texts. Scholars generally agree that the symbol originated with Dion's descendant, Nobuyuki, who leveraged his connection to Dion to great effect in the warring states period and suggested the sun as a unifying entity. It was also the original crest of the Yamato clan, but after it became more of a national symbol instead of the clan, the clan made a new crest for personal use, which is... also a sun, but made with interlocking mountains, to represent their ability to use Dragon Veins.
Nohr's crest is generally agreed to be a combination of two national symbols, a union of stars and the moon, since the kingdom of Nohr we know now were originally two different kingdoms that came together through a political marriage between their ruling families. Why they were arranged that way is up for debate, but scholars and artists alike speculate that the first child born from this marriage had a marking on her head whenever she transformed into a dragon (at this time, Kleo's descendants were still able to inherit this ability). The child's parents, who were still figuring out what their new kingdom would look like, were immediately inspired to make their kingdom's new crest based on the birthmark.
Valla's crest isn't... a nationally adopted crest, per se, but it's often found on the gateways of Vallite temples. The symbol was used by Vallite priestesses when traveling outside of their realm to identify themselves, and it's very simply explained as a star surrounded by waves, in reference to their powers and their origin. Early scholars often mistook the symbol to be a national crest, and Lucanus's historical revisions to make his famous opera simpler also promoted this assumption in popular culture.

Wait, so did Garon truly betray Mikoto and kidnap Anri, or was he already a possessed corpse by then?
He was overtaken by conveniently timed dramatic plot developments and became a fully possessed corpse in the middle of the summit, and Mikoto didn't know the exact moment it happened. The people working on him were hoping it'd happen earlier but this was just as acceptable.

Did Hoshido have any contact, interaction, or participation with Nohr during the Nohrian civil war, and vice versa during Hoshido’s warring states period?
Contact during the Nohrian civil war was very minimal and very sparse in between. The most famous incident involved Katerina meeting Ikona while escaping from Garon's uncle's forces, and the two teamed up briefly before going their own separate ways. No joint efforts were made to bridge the canyon at this time.
Hoshido's warring states period predates the Calamity (when the continent was split into two by a canyon), so there was certainly more contact between the two sides. However, Nohr did not take up the entire left side of the continent as much as it does right now, so it was much smaller, not that expansive, and likely not that close to the Hoshidan states. Several leading Hoshidans clans were known to forge alliances with bordering western city-states from regions that would later be known Esterlyn, Morbank, and Janholt.
