Most often the sanctimonious person himself does not know that this particular vice [Riya] has penetrated his deeds and his deeds have now assumed hypocritical proportions and hence become worthless. Because the temptations of the Devil and the self are so unobservably shadowy and subtle and the path of humanity is so delicate and tenuous that unless anyone is extremely discriminate, he cannot understand their inherent evil.

O you who believe! Be careful of (your duty to) Allah… (59:18).' The word 'ittaqu' means be careful, guard yourself, but what role does the word 'Allah' have here? 'Allah' is the object of the verb 'ittaqu', it means fear Allah and guard yourselves against that danger which threatens you from Allah as punishment for the (bad) actions you do out of free choice.

O He Who has been always alive before the existence of all living things!
O He Who shall be alive after the extinction of all living things!
O He Who has been always alive even when there was nothing else alive!
O He Who revives the dead ones and causes the living ones to die!
O Ever-living! There is no God but you!

She [Lady Khadijah (S)] you say the mother of eleven Imams (a.s.), but she is indeed the mother of twelve Imams; because she is also the mother of Imam Ali (a.s.) since she raised and nurtured Imam Ali (a.s.) in her house and supervision.

The unrecognized wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who gave her life, money and wellbeing for the cause of Islam
Lady Khadijah (s.a.) has not been introduced justly. Her nobility as a wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was manifold. There were other women who had the honor of marrying the Prophet; however, they were not with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when he went through hardships during the major period of his prophethood.
The ten years of his life spent in Medina was easier than the time he was [in Mecca with Lady Khadijah]: he was respected in Medina. Whereas, in Mecca.
Lady Khadijah (S.A.) observed and endured the difficult period of the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

In worldly love, the person in question asks you to cross rivers of fire to reach them. Real love is Karbala, where Abal Fadhl (a) crosses rivers of fire to reach you and tells you, 'Come, come with us.

Saturday is for us; Sunday is for our Shï'ites; Monday is for the Umayyads; Tuesday is for their followers; Wednesday for the ‘Abbasids; Thursday is for their followers; and Friday is for Allah. There is no travel on it (Friday), for Allah, the Exalted, says: And when the prayer is finished, so spread in the land and seeks from Allah’s favour.

And the right of yourself incumbent upon you is that you employ it in obeying God; then you deliver to your tongue its right, to your hearing its right, to your sight its right, to your hand its right, to your leg its right, to your stomach its right, to your private part its right, and you seek help from God in all that.

Man’s turning to God during times of calamities is a sign of our inclinations to Godliness. Man gets involved with his position and status so much that he forgets about God. He gets fully entangled in his sins and disobedience. Once a calamity befalls upon man, he suddenly remembers God and turns to Him for help. Thus, we realize that this sense of Godliness is intrinsic in humans, but man’s involvement in worldly affairs results in his forgetting God. There is a well-known tradition that states that a man went to see Imam Sadiq and expressed his amazement about the recognition of God.
He said: “I have discussed this issue with many knowledgeable people, but they have not been able to help me.” Imam Sadiq ended his amazement using his intrinsic human Godliness and asked him: “Have you ever been aboard a ship?” The man said: “Yes.” Then Imam Sadiq asked: “Have you ever been on a sinking ship, and reached out for a narrow piece of board to stay afloat?” The man said: “Yes. I have.” Then Imam Sadiq said: “Then while you could not see any dry land or anyone there to save you, were you not really attracted to some power to rescue you?” The man replied in the positive and was finally relieved of his amazement about God’s recognition.”
Now that we have recognized the intrinsic nature of man’s inclination to God, and that the Prophets were appointed to invite man to honor this intrinsic Godliness, we will attend to the first and most important rights as described by Imam Sajjad - that is worshipping God and abandoning paganism. First, we should see what is meant by worshipping and paganism, and what acts are considered worshipping or related to paganism.

The purity and nobility of knowledge
When a dead person is placed in his grave, four kinds of fire will cover him, but then the prayer will come and put one of them out, and the fast will come and put another one of them out, and then charity will come and put another one out, and knowledge will come and put the forth one out, and it will say : ' If I had come sooner, I would a have put all of them out, and given you delight for I am with you now, and you'll not see anything else distressing.

Remember that this world which you covet so ardently and attempt to acquire so earnestly, and which sometimes annoys you and sometimes pleases you so much, is neither your home nor a permanent destination. You have not been created for it, nor invited to it as your resting-place. It shall neither remain with you for ever, nor will you remain in it eternally. If it has enticed you away with its charrns, it has also warned and cautioned you of real dangers lurking in its folds. Take account of the warnings it has given you and do not be seduced or deceived by its allurements. Let these warnings frighten you from being too greedy to possess it. Try to advance towards the place where you are invited for eternal bliss and turn your face away from the vicious world.
