Sometimes it bothers me, and the chapel is a good place to think about those kinds of things. Sometimes I find peace there, but not often. I find more peace with you.

I am watching Ringer to see how good Zoey is at acting (I’ve never seen her on anything before), and unfortunately she’s pretty bad and I’m worried.

"The Moroi complexions were pale and delicate, like porcelain, while ours were tanned from being outside in the sun so much" (US Shadow Kiss page 38)
You forgot one thing. Rose is not yet an official guardian. She attends classes and training AT NIGHT, so she has not yet been exposed to the elements like the other guardians.
And again  the obvious quotes  are overlooked. Abe is described as having a dusky dark skinned complexion and Rose is described as taking after him in features and in coloring. (Thank you to the person who posted all the quotes for easy access.)
“They all remained standing, the dhampirs fanning out around the Moroi in a sort of protective formation. Abe’s was the strange face I’d seen while I’d been going in and out of consciousness after the fight by the barn. He was older than me, close to Olena’s age. He had black hair and a goatee, and about as tan a complexion as Moroi ever had. If you’ve ever seen tan or dark-skinned people who are sick and grow pale, it’s a lot like that.
There was some pigment in his skin, but it was underscored by an intense pallor. Most astonishing of all was his clothing. He wore a long dark coat that screamed money, paired with a cashmere crimson scarf. Below it, I could see a bit of gold, a chain to match the gold hoop earring he wore in one of his ears. My initial impression of that flamboyance would have been pirate or pimp. A moment later, I changed my mind.”
-Blood Promise
“Abe Mazur stood before me. As always, he was a sight to behold. It was the middle of summer—hot and humid, seeing as we were right in the middle of rural Pennsylvania—but that didnʹt stop him from wearing a full suit. It was a flashy one, perfectly tailored and adorned with a brilliant purple silk tie and matching scarf that just seemed like overkill. Gold jewelry flashedagainst the dusky hue of his skin, and he looked like heʹd recently trimmed his short black beard.
-Last Sacrifice
“I might have been raised in theU.S. , but my parents were foreign-born. My dhampir mother was Scottish—red-haired, with a ridiculous accent—and I’d been told my Moroi dad was Turkish. That genetic combination had given me skin the same color as the inside of an almond, along with what I liked to think were semi-exotic desert-princess features: big dark eyes and hair so deep brown that it usually looked black. I wouldn’t have minded inheriting the red hair, but we take what we get.”
-Vampire Academy
“I had no clue who my dad was. The only bit of information I had was that he was Turkish. I might have my mom’s curvy figure and pretty face—though I could smugly say mine was much prettier than hers nowadays—but the rest of my coloring was from him. Lightly tanned skin with dark hair and eyes.”
-Frostbite
Then I felt the weirdest thing through the bond. I saw myself through her eyes. It was like looking in a mirror, except she only had a profile view of me. But when she looked at me, she really did think I was beautiful. With my tan and dark brown hair, I seemed exotic to her. She felt pale and washed out compared to me, skinny next to my curves. It was surreal, considering how often I felt scruffy next to her luminous beauty.”
-Shadow Kissed
“Now, it appeared I might be on the verge of joining him. Yeah, good job, Rose. I shivered, trying to imagine myself as one of them. Red rings around my pupils. Tanned skin gone pale. I couldn’t picture it, and I supposed I’d never have to actually see myself if it happened. Strigoi cast no reflections. It would make doing my hair a real pain in the ass.”
-Blood Promise
“I looked down at my sweat-soaked tank top and noticed a faint pink tinge to my skin. With my tanned complexion, I rarely burned, but this was some serious sun—even so late in the day.”

I won't post as anon. I don't care if you know "who" is saying this. You sound SO PRESSED right now. I can barely browse the "#vampire academy" tag because you're ruining it with your negativity. Just stop. Don't you have anything better to do on here than bash Zoey Deutch, just because she's not the EXACT shade you want?
Actually no I don't have anything better to do than post my thoughts about an issue that troubles me on my blog and tag it so that my links work. Don't like it? BLOCK/IGNORE ME.
This has nothing to so with her being not the 'shade' I want. It has to do with her playing a role that should have gone to an ethnic actress. If they were making another Blade movie and cast a white man in the role, people would be upset because the character is black. This is the exact same thing.
As an ethnic minority I have a right to be upset that Zoey Deutch specifically auditioned for an ethnic role and got the part, even though she did not fit the character description in any way and has mediocre talent.
As a human being I have a right to be upset that the casting agents and directors then cast a 'token' person of color in another role to make up for the fact they made the movies heroine (who should be ethnic) white.

The evidence is everywhere. She wasn't even surprised when she got the role, making it obvious that she was offered the part. Her parents are friends with every single person important person involved in the production, and the Weinstein Co. probably had some say in who was cast as Rose. Besides, WHY THE FUCK is her sister also involved in the movie? I mean... that just doesn't happen! Lea Thompson and Deutch dad are very desperate to launch their daughters'careers and are using VA to do it
Thank God there is someone else who sees it for what it is.
When they told her she had the role, all you have to do is look at the arrogant expression on her face. She already knew. Mommy and Daddy secured it for her. She had no idea what the role even was until she read the script, she said so herself.
