Five Genius Ideas to Create a Landscaped Garden
Tumblr media
Lounging in a giant-sized front garden is history now, as city life is gradually reducing our lawn space.
But, we can be excited about that too. We can smartly use the available space and create a small green personal paradise. Utilise the outdoor area you have - it can be your courtyard, front yard, balcony, or patio and build an enchanting garden for you and your family!
Creating Landscaped Garden
Vertical gardens, beautiful climbing vines, and statement pot plants are great ideas for saving space as well as to beautify your yard. Be creative and choose your garden landscape design Adelaide to make a statement. You can use the following tips -
Bamboo screening
Bamboo is the most feasible screening plant. But it needs to be watchful while choosing the species. Go for the non-invasive and clumping variety. Textilis gracilis (slender weavers) is one of the best bamboo species for screening.
With its rapid growth rate to 6-8m height, it is perfect for privacy screening in tight spaces. It is a suggestion to plant them per 0.6m to 1m, depending on the density of the shade you want. You can keep it, either way, trim it to bare stems for light purpose or let them bushy for screening purposes. Slender weavers remain green in all the seasons, however, in the summer season, they need plenty of water to stay all green.
    2.
Council verge
Use the council verge at the entrance to create a welcoming appearance. Yes, you can be creative with uninteresting council verges too. Create a densely planted island garden surrounding the cobblestone pathway to the entrance. The arch of two shady trees over the pathway- creating a sunshade in front of the main gate. Use blue chalksticks, cardboard palm, and agave attenuata as underneath plants. All of these together create varying textures for an inviting entry.
  3.
Play with layers
A semi-formal front garden works best to complement the pretty frontage. Create a layered garden to give a mixed foliage texture. The soft and gentle plants set up a lovely looking space to look.
   4.
Consider the natural daylight
While designing a small garden or compact patio it is important to consider natural light. Select the plants that allow light to enter at every time of year and every time of day. Also, understand the growth nature of plants, their water requirement, and all other behaviour over time. But, to maintain their natural behaviour it is required to supply what they need.
   5.
Layered subtropical garden with canopy
All sheltered and shady, a layered subtropical garden filters the afternoon sunlight. Create the bottom layers with philodendron, stripy-leafed Tradescantia zebrina, and walking iris. Middle layer with some spices plants like Rhapis palm, red-flowering heliconia plants, and ornamental cardamom. The top layer with slender weaver bamboo and giant taro. And, to create the canopy use three tall dwarf date palms.
These are some creative design and planting ideas for your green heaven. For more landscape design Adelaide ideas contact iConstruct SA team. We would suggest the low maintenance landscape design ideas. Ask for a no-obligation quote!
