POV: you're the Nerevarine and you're trying so fucking hard to pay attention to whatever tf Dagoth Ur's going on about
On the other hand maybe it helps bc it's the 3E equivalent of jingling keys in your Nerevarine's face

Part one of the Bard's College questline! (I totally didn't lose a bunch of pre-recorded footage, and now I'm scrambling to redo some chunks of it-)
Thank you all for liking my nonsense, by the way. It means a lot. Time for me to go into hiding now :>

It's time for me to ramble about some speculation that has been stewing in my noggin for the past few weeks! 💫
I have been delving into a lot of ESO lately in my free time, trying to learn about the 1st Aldmeri Dominion as much as possible. The quests I enjoy taking notes (and taking screenshots) of the most are the ones that surround Veiled Heritance. I think it's safe to say that this group of Altmeri supremacists never died out like they were supposed to after their failed assassination attempt(s) of Queen Ayrenn; I see a lot of signs that point to the remains/descendants of this group somehow infiltrating the ranks of the Thalmor and the entire Aldmeri Dominion altogether later in history towards the 4th Era.
Since VH also had ties to Mehrunes Dagon, I can speculate that remnants this group carried on their daedric pact into the 3rd Era, and all had a hand in carrying out the triggering of the Oblivion Crisis (and founding of the Mythic Dawn cult).
I hope we do get further insight on how the modern Thalmor/Aldmeri Dominion came to be in the future. I'm left here putting string on an imaginary pin board, trying to connect every dot I can identify while I have the time. I'm mostly doing this because I really hate the amount of misinformation that has been passed around on the mainstream about the Thalmor (ex. people spreading rumors of the Thalmor/AD being always evil in their entire existence and want to bring Nirn to another Merethic Era) and the history of all three Dominions, and I'm just trying to find sanity somewhere within this mess.
I have fumbled in the past while scrambling for information, but hey, no one's perfect. I'm trying to learn as much as I can! 😭
Eventually, I will start making actual charts and boards, but until then, you all will only find me in this state:

I don’t think I’ve heard anyone say this because nobody really likes to analyze the Five (Four NPC) Companions but something I like about them that isn’t typical of most fantasy parties is that all of them stand on business. They DO NOT fuck around. They know the stakes and they respect them.
There’s no dedicated “comic relief” character, and the guy that comes closest to it is arguably the most serious about “We and everyone else on this plane of existence are all going to fucking die if we don’t get our shit together ASAP.”
There’s a healthy amount of humor in them all, of course, but it doesn’t feel forced, it feels realistic. Like your friend who makes a stupid comment that elicits a chuckle from you.
The character that is supposed to be the brute of the bunch is still grounded. You can tell she likes to solve problems with her axe, and she may not be as much of a tactician as her boyfriend or the mouthy old guy, but it doesn’t use this as a source of comedy.
But then it’s back to business. They’ve got a necromancer to track down, and find a way to put him in the ground permanently (dramatic irony with Daggerfall existing though lol).
Now ESO does compromise because some of its other parties DO have comic relief characters. And of course there’s Cadwell, who likes to hang out with the companions, but his humor is such a specific brand and actually good that it doesn’t come off as forced or stupid. But for the most part it’s done really well and doesn’t undermine the threat at hand. Really the only thing I’d criticize in this game humor wise are the OTHER companions, the ones you can get to follow them around, but that’s a whole other rant on its own (I don’t like ANY of them).

Hi yes hello this is the same anon that asked about your favorite Tally dialogue - I started the bard's college yesterday and 20 hours later I'm still recovering from how much I laughed. This is so good holy shit 😭
Hi again!! :]
Man, if only I could make videos (damn you wisdom teeth for silencing my voice) right now, my footage from the Bard's College questline would definitely turn into something I can post here 😭. That is guaranteed. Taliesin had bangers, and rewatching the footage I had clipped has me giggling. With that "not deliver bad news" portion, I kind of related to him in that moment. I say kind of because I'm the type to rather ghost someone than deliver bad news 🤣!
Window? Broken. Ida? Missing. Hotel? Trivago.
Also, some advice. Let that mer rant about Viarmo's performance. If you don't, Arkay save you. I don't make the rules /j

Can I just say I really appreciate your enthusiasm for the Altmer? I hardly see it anywhere, so your posts about them make me smile.
Also Taliesin. The Taliesin posting makes me laugh. What's one of your favorite lines of his in game?
Hi! I'm so happy you enjoyed my posts about the Altmer! I find them to be very neat. Glad I could make you smile! :]
As for Taliesin, oh lord, I have no idea where to begin when it comes to my favorite lines (honestly, there's too many). I want to put his entire commentary on the Bard's College questline up there in the hall of fame. Him just processing how bizarre and morbid the situation for the LDB being accepted into the college had my sides hurting. Tally really had me during the "Burning of King Olaf" festival portion. Him calling out the horrible timing of the event was just perfect. Truly enjoyed seeing the more artistic side of Taliesin. ^^

Was supposed to make more funny Skyrim videos, but my wisdom teeth decided to make talking and eating painful for me. Like EXTREMELY painful to the point where a girlie was popping gabapentins and ibuprofen like tic tacs - anyway, in the meantime, while I wait for my dentist appointment, I've been doing important things in ESO.
Very, very important things.

"Hey guys, let's check on that weird elf lover lady" - Status update(?)
⚠️ˢˡⁱᵍʰᵗ ᵗʷ!⚠️
So, other than grinding in college and trying to absorb as much TES lore as possible, I've been working on a speculation piece for the current (crisis) state of the Summerset Isles. I've made a few new friends who are also interested in helping me forge together an accurate current picture of the illusive province, now ruled by an oppressive authoritative system. Speaking of college, I'm majoring in history (you can already imagine how I feel every day waking up to the news)! And what I love to do most with a lot of the media I consume is draw comparisons to real-life historical events and phenomena.
I hope you can see where this is going. Getting back into TES lore again after years of being discouraged (a story for another time, it's not a pretty one) was the best thing to ever happen to me because there was this entire gold mine worth of material for me to investigate and study. But the lore tidbits and chunks that I ended up looking over more and more were practically everything that revolved around the Altmer. I do find their culture and customs to be extremely interesting, especially with how I'm absolutely obsessed with glamorized dystopian themes depicted in media. I just don't show it often because people always assume the worst.
I will be crystal clear, I still have so much to learn about the Altmer and TES lore in general. I have been previously stunted in learning both aspects (again, a story for another time). So, I may be joking around a lot and goofing off a lot on this dump blog, but what no one sees is me scribbling down notes under the table. And trust me, I'm always writing and watching. They may look like insane rants made by an airhead, but hey, I'm still doing my best!
I am aware that what I'm doing is not popular within the mainstream(?) space of the modern TES community. The High Elves are seen as nothing more than heartless snobs who think that they are better than everyone else. When everyone and their grandmother should know this is the furthest from the truth, and we were given far too many examples of that. Hell, the Dunmer are more beloved than the Altmer, and they would be canceled yesterday if Morrowind came out in the modern day (along with the masses learning about how they treated Argonians).
All TES races and some of their customs have unsightly facts about them in some shape or form. Yes, I am aware of the Altmer practicing eugenics and other not-so-fun facts. Trust me, that was hammered into my skull back in the day whenever I dared to have curiosity. In fact, every bad fact about every elven race in general was fed into me back when I lacked the spine to do my own research in order to appease the wrong kind of people.
I don't want to ramble on for too long. That's what I've been up to for the last few weeks. Thank you for reading! :>

In a hypothetical scenario, a highly trained ex-Thalmor agent suddenly goes missing, and one can hear thumping in the walls. On a scale of 1 to 10, how cooked is this person? Asking for a friend...
(BTW we're so back I'm so happy to play modded Skyrim again :>)
