Having a nose!! 🌸🌸🌸 Using Pastel Pencils today to practice dogs nostrils .... why?? because nostrils are my biggest headache with pet portraits. This little one is peeking through a fence but I have zoomed in to focus on his nose. Base layers done now to define the details x (at Torquay)

It’s all mine!! 🌸🌸🌸 Next practice piece @cynthiavanderhoogte as promised. Using coloured pencils again because they are my weakness. If I could do everything in pastels life would be easier but I’m a Gemini and like a challenge. Working on placing the darker values firsts helps map out where to put the eyes, nose, mouth etc. As for the stick.... I’m going with the flow as never tackled one before lol x (at Torquay)

Pastel painting of beautiful Luna 🌸🌸🌸 Finally I can share a commissioned piece that was a surprise for my client to his wife for Christmas. I am so flattered that I was asked to paint Luna. I also met Luna when my client came to collect the painting. She is the cutest maddest black Labrador I have ever met. I’m so pleased with the finished piece. Stage one....Under painting done ✅ 🌸🌸🌸 she is looking a bit strange right now having only had one layer of pastels to block in the main parts, but I’m confident that the next layer of pastels will give the kitty a nice coat to keep her warm. It’s snowing!! 🌸🌸🌸 No new paintings busy getting the house ready for santa and shopping. I love love love the snow effect and have everything crossed we have snow this year but not likely in north Devon. I am very excited though as have been asked by 2 people to paint their pets!!
