Telehealth Results Spurs A Call For Greater Post-COVID-19 License Portability
Samsung Invests In Genetics-focused Telehealth Company As Coronavirus Rages™
For the most up-to-date news and information about the coronavirus pandemic, visit the WHO website. Samsung's Catalyst Fund is betting the future of health care will have something to do with genomics -- especially as the world battles the coronavirus pandemic. The fund, which is overseen by Samsung Strategy Chief Young Sohn, has led an investment into the San Francisco Bay Area-based Genome Medical, the companies said Wednesday. The Series B extension financing raised $14 million to help Genome Medical expand its genomics telehealth push. In total, it has raised $60 million since its founding in 2016. Other investors include the venture arm of hospital Kaiser Permanente, Canaan, Illumina Ventures and Echo Health Ventures. Genome Medical combines telemedicine with genomics, with the aim to provide more personalized care to patients across the country. Genomics involves studying a person's genes, as well as the interaction of those genes with each other and with a person's environment, to determine how they impact a person's likelihood to develop -- and then battle -- conditions like heart disease and cancer. It also explores how a person will respond to certain drugs based on their genes, something called pharmacogenomics. Stay in the know. Get the latest tech stories from CNET News every weekday. It's believed that genomics can create new ways to monitor and treat infectious diseases like COVID-19. At the same time, receiving care digitally takes pressure off of overburdened hospitals and clinicians who are treating people sick with the coronavirus. About 10.5 million people have been infected so far and more than 500,000 people have died. There's no cure or vaccine to prevent COVID-19 yet. cigna behavioral telehealth Lisa Alderson, CEO and co-founder of Genome Medical, said in an interview before announcing the investment. Is cancer in your DNA? Genome Medical connects patients with genetic experts -- and does it digitally. Patients get guidance over the phone or video chats on how genetic testing works, what tests would be appropriate and what the results actually mean, as well as get help setting up a post-testing care plan. The startup plans to use its new funding to expand its Genome Care Delivery technology platform for cancer, reproductive health and pharmacogenomics screening. About 10% of cancers are inherited, and about one out of every four individuals who undergo reproductive genetic testing are found to be carriers of a genetic condition, Genome Medical said. Overall, about 17% of the US population carries disease-related genetic mutations that can be treated or prevented. Increasingly, health care is tapping into genetic testing to determine treatment plans. Doing so lowers costs and improves patient outcomes. One of the best known examples is testing for a BRCA gene mutation that leads to a higher risk for breast cancer. Many women who test positive, like actress Angelina Jolie, opt to have surgery to prevent cancer from developing later on. The coronavirus has changed a lot about regular life, from grocery shopping to getting haircuts. One of the biggest areas that's been impacted is health care. Even before COVID-19 hit the globe, people had started visiting their doctors digitally. As people avoid going to hospitals and doctors' offices, that trend has accelerated. Now, we're "visiting" our physicians on video calls and chatting with medical bots to avoid seeing doctors in person. In 2018, 7 million patients used some sort of a telemedicine service in the US, and that number is only expected to rise. Over half of US hospitals use some sort of telemedicine, and it's in every state, with more than 200 telemedicine networks in the US alone. In March, the US Federal Communications Commission earmarked $200 million to help health organizations roll out telehealth technology to combat COVID-19.

A Guide To Primers And Paints For Rust-free Ways
Tips On Choosing And Using Paint Sprayers™
Tumblr media
Paint sprayers can be the perfect tool to use in many situations.Painting is one of those DIY projects that have crossed everyone’s path. It’s a challenging job to achieve the best results whether you are applying that first coat or refreshing an old coat. The decision to use a sprayer is really not that hard to make. It comes down to what, where and how much paint you need to apply. You need to assess the trade-offs with the use of a sprayer, roller or brush to help you get the job done. Each of these painting tools has advantages and disadvantages. On the downside, sprayers can be messy to use and require more time to prepare the area and to clean up. The spray nozzle can become clogged and spit paint. Airborne paint can drift onto unintended surfaces. The unit has to be totally disassembled to be cleaned and dried. Sprayers are sensitive to the viscosity of the paint, so thinners need to be added to keep the flow of the paint through the nozzle smooth and consistent. While sprayers aren’t difficult to operate, they do take some time to learn how to apply the paint without sags or thin coverage. Finally, if not properly protected, sprayers can be hazardous to respiratory systems, eyes and skin. Despite their disadvantages, sprayers are the absolute best painting tool when you have a large area to be coated in one color. Good examples include painting a long wooden fence, a deck or the exterior of a house. Using a sprayer for these types of jobs is much faster and paint Protective Coat more cost effective than using brushes or rollers. If your job is smaller, requires precise application and involves color changes, you would lean toward using a brush or roller. Sprayers can be used on interior walls and ceilings of a home, but you should carefully consider the tradeoffs. There are other applications that favor using a sprayer over a brush or roller. A well tuned sprayer in the hands of an experienced painter can turn furniture, cabinets, picture frames, antiques and other collectibles into masterpieces. A sprayer provides the best finished product when applying latex or oil paint, stains, lacquers and polyurethane. When applied properly, the sprayed surface is smooth and consistent.Paint sprayers are usually purchased when that first big job comes up where a brush or roller won’t cut it. At this point, a decision needs to be made on what type of sprayer is best suited for the project. Sprayers come in two basic types, conventional and airless.Conventional sprayers are mainly used by commercial painters these days. They use compressed air to create the spray through a special gun. These units are built for every day use on large jobs. They are high volume units, designed to paint the exteriors of buildings. Their costs can run into the thousands of dollars.Airless sprayers are the most widely used technology by homeowners today. An electric or gas powered motor runs a diaphragm or piston pump that atomizes the paint into tiny droplets. The droplets are forced through the nozzle and can create a fan width from 2″ to 24.” Airless sprayers run from small cup guns to commercial sized units. Their costs range from about $100 to $250.

Eco-Pleasant Organization Tendencies In 2021
The Best Bag And Cable Organizers™
The Custom Leathercraft 3 Multi-Purpose Clip-on Zippered Bags are better suited for your home toolbox than an everyday gadget bag. The trio of pouches are made of canvas, so they’re tough, and sharp nails and needle-nose pliers won’t damage them. The canvas was rougher than our panelists preferred, and most staffers found the dark colors unattractive. Many of us also prefer pouches that are transparent because we don’t like guessing what’s stored in each bag in the set. The IPOW BD02 pencil pouches are sold in a set of four. We liked the fun floral patterns and traditional pencil pouch shape. But the bags weren’t big enough to hold more than a single bulky item, such as a laptop charger. The zippers also stuck and some broke during our tests. The five bags in the Modern Bethel Travel Pouch Set are covered in vinyl, so they’re waterproof. But in our tests, the seams weren’t stitched cleanly and the bags leaked water. We also found that the larger bags (13¾ by 10½ inches and 11 by 8¼ inches) are so big that they’re as bad as just leaving things loose in your backpack or purse to begin with. The Muji Double Fastener Case (medium) was great for storing the small gear on our list. But it couldn’t hold our bulkier items without permanently deforming the polyester bag. It’s also not waterproof, so a spilled soda or leaking lotion bottle would damage its contents. The BUBM cord and cosmetic organizer is a two-way makeup and brush bag that’s convertible to store tech gear as well. The top is a traditional makeup bag, and the bottom unzips horizontally to store brushes, tablet pens, and skinny cable cords. But the main compartment isn’t big enough to carry most of the accessories on our list. And the padded chamber absorbed leaking water, which means that it could retain the stinky odors of other spilled liquids over time. The Chiceco Handy Makeup Pouch offers better privacy than our pick from The Container Store because it’s made of 100D Oxford nylon and not micro mesh. It’s small enough to carry with one hand, and is flexible and durable enough to cram full with gear without fear of it tearing. But the zipper broke during testing, making the bag virtually impossible to use. The Leatherology Clamshell Makeup Bag is sold in two sizes (medium and large) or as a set. Both sizes were great for splitting the storage of our tech gear and personal hygiene items. We liked that both bags have zip pockets, and the clamshell design was ideal for finding small items hiding at the bottom of the bag. But the leather was too soft, and it was easy to scratch and scuff during normal use. Leatherology allows only a 30-day return window and only for unused gear, which isn’t ideal for a product that costs $85 to $180. ” Yet we called the customer service line twice and never spoke with a live person (once, we stayed on hold for 30 minutes before giving up and ending the call). Note: As of January 2020, Leatherology now offers a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials or craftsmanship, but we still prefer the quality, style, and look of our Cuyana picks. After two years of testing, we dropped the Dsptch Dopp Kit as a pick. Originally, we liked that its design worked for carrying both cables and lotions because the main compartment had three wide elastic loops that comfortably fit bulky toiletries (like sunscreen) and tech accessories (like charging bricks) beside each other. But the main compartment can’t fully unzip, so it’s harder to peer into and harder for larger hands to dig inside. Similarly, the side compartment’s padded valet tray takes up valuable space, and when the tray was in place, we had trouble quickly grabbing an item from that section without fully unzipping the bag. The Herschel Supply Co. Chapter Travel Kit measures 18 by 4½ by 6 inches, so it holds our essentials with plenty of room to spare. But its large size also means it was way too big to carry each day. This Dopp kit also isn’t waterproof. The Aer Cable Kit was a previous pick, but it has been discontinued. We reviewed its successor, the Aer Cable Kit 2, which isn’t as practical as our Incase pick. The Aer Cable Kit 2 has redesigned pockets and loops, but the storage compartments are less useful in this iteration because they’re more uniform, which means it’s harder to find a spot for odd-shaped gear. And the main compartment is lined in a fleece-like material that’s not very soft. We don’t like the Bellroy Tech Kit because the metal zipper is sticky, the storage compartments aren’t ideal for smaller pieces like USB flash drives and earbuds, and the pockets aren’t taut or zippable, so items can easily fall out in transit. The Dagne Dover Arlo Tech Pouch (large) is a good size if you regularly carry large tech accessories such as a charging brick or docking station, but for most commuters, it’s too big and ungainly. It’s difficult for people with small hands to carry in one hand, it doesn’t rest flat along the spine when open, and the chunky plastic zipper is stiff and hard to maneuver. The Knomo Thames Knomad Organizer is slim enough to stash inside a briefcase, but its wide design makes it harder to carry in one hand while you’re juggling gear as you dash from conference room to conference room. And although it’s made of water-resistant polyurethane, the material is slightly rough, not as refined as the material in our other picks. The Bond Travel Gear Escapade Pouch has a rough nylon exterior, inconsistent stitching quality, and zippers that catch, making it hard to open and close. Eagle Creek Etool Organizer Pro lacks a microfiber lining and padding to protect delicate objects, and there’s limited space to secure smaller items, like thumb drives. Water also leaks through the zippers. The Native Union Stow Accessory Organizer’s leather exterior shows wear and tear easily, and the zippers are difficult to use. The Peak Design Tech Pouch opens like an accordian-style file folder, so gear won’t fall out when you open it. But this was the hardest bag to open that we tested, as the zipper frequently got stuck on the thick piping that was designed to prevent leaks. The Tom Bihn Snake Charmer is an upright bag with dual mesh compartments (like a dopp kit). But it's surprisingly bulky (up to 5 inches deep), and it’s also not waterproof, so tech gear won’t survive a soda spill. For non-water-resistant options, we prefer our Vaultz Mesh Storage Bags because they’re sold in a pack of four for just $8 at the time of writing, are modular and big enough for larger cables, and pack down flat for easy storage. The Welden Nylon Accessory Organizer is well-made and stylish, featuring a modern hexagonal weave pattern on the exterior that’s sure to attract attention. But its small size (4.7 by 7.78 by 2.75 inches) has limited storage space, which won’t work for most people commuting with all of their gear. It’s also pricey ($80 at the time of writing), and we think our luxe pick, the Cuyana Leather Travel Case varlion summum leather backpacks Set, is a better deal (currently two bags for $110). Leatherology Small Tech Bag Organizer has three elastic loops, but the loops loosened after just a couple of uses. The bag is made of soft full-grain leather, which scratches easier than what we would like from a $65 bag. You can upgrade to the firm, full-grain German leather bag for $100.) This bag is also subject to Leatherology’s limited 30-day return window (described above). Both Bagsmart bags we looked at have plenty of loops and slots for our gear, but it felt weird putting toiletries in such a techie-looking pouch. Model Travel Universal Cable Organizer (BM0200044B001) wasn’t waterproof. And though the Thicken Cable Organizer (BM0200064A001) model did repel water, its inside wasn’t very durable and got scuffed up by our bulky laptop cable. Our packing cube pick, the Eagle Creek Pack It Quarter Cube (extra-small) was too flimsy to hold our gear. The Hynes Eagle Travel Accessories Organizer was too small to hold even half the gear on our list. The floral pattern on the bag was grainy and looked cheap. The bag also wasn’t waterproof. The Power Packer is durable, looks nice, and is big enough to store bulky cables, external power packs, and travel adapters. Although that’s exactly what it’s designed to carry, most of our testers found it big for everyday use. And the knitted fabric accents absorbed and leaked water to other sections of the bag.

Pick Board Hears Closing Design and style Strategies For Waterfield Street, Church Avenue Intersection
Best Church Design Firms In Little Elm - BBA-ARCHITECTS™
Mr. Brown has dedicated his whole career to serving churches like yours. He is passionate about ministry and about the facility of the church being one of its principal tools for ministry. Why does this matter? Churches are complex operations, with complex schedules and lots of moving parts. They grow in unique way, raise funds in unique way and operate unique from all other organizations. You need to work with an experienced principal that has passion about the thousands of details that make a difference. Mr. Brown is the beneficiary of three generations of church architecture. He has been a student of Church architecture since he was a sophomore in high school. He personally hold this tremendous experience. Other firms have resumes that may include a number of churches but firms don’t do projects, people do. Often projects are won by a firm that because of high turnover may not have many, if any churches that have actually been completed by the current staff. Often junior staff are assigned churches and they are just learning and finding their way around the process. BBA-A is still waiting on the first church to come along that has plenty of money. Building is expensive and is very challenging for a church. Given plenty of money a lessor team could design a church because what would it matter - just oversize everything. But the tighter things get the more you need a trusted guide. Mr. Brown joins your team to serve you and lead you thru a complex process. Many designers are introverted, poor with committees and unfamiliar with the process of getting a church thru the check points successfully to build. Many architects draw plans but Mr. Brown leads a process. He helps you prepare to raise funds, answer questions, helps you with contractor selection and integration. He leads a team of over 40 engineers on most projects so that the project comes together as a beautiful integrated whole. The process Mr. Brown uses will be custom tailored to your needs but involves layers of study with the leadership. This allows the leadership for participate in georgia church builders numerous decisions that would never be given time in other systems. Some firms come to the interview with flashy solutions ready to go. Mr. Brown comes ready to listen and explore. The flash approach can be very tempting but churches never seem to do it twice. Mr. Brown has been trusted again and again with multiple phases over many years for the same clients. Process matters. You might be able to fool a client initially but in the end they will know if a building works for them. Churches are more complex technologically than everything excepting surgical suites. Room acoustics, sound systems, room lighting, specialty lighting, video projection, video effects, video capture, with internal and external feeds. Keeping air-conditioning systems quiet yet effective, platform design and function are all systems that take a talented team to put together. All systems need to be geared toward a realistic assessment of the churches abilities now and growing into the future. Our focus allows us to stay abreast of these technologies and be ever growing in their use and application. Lets face it, all the leadership and process in the world is of limited value if the architect does not have the raw talent to create spaces that are beautiful! This talent is a blend of art and science, that is what makes architecture so challenging. We think a look at our past work will show that Mr. Brown not only creates great spaces but hand tailors them to fit our clients exactly. A visit will show a use of technology that is exciting and appropriate. This talent is the sum of the six preceding factors but is what makes our ministry to churches so unique.

A definite statement is made in overall design choices when it comes to custom printed splashbacks. There is a lot you can do with this as a choice for your kitchen or bathroom area. They work well in commercial settings and in the home. In the commercial setting logos can be printed in high resolution right on to the splashback, no matter how detailed, or how many colours. The image you have printed will be exactly as the one you provide. Many printing choices in other areas of design limit the colour choices, this is not so with the printing from MyColourGlass. You can also pick out any high-resolution stock photo from an internet resource, such as a landscape, and have it printed directly on to your splashback without any altering or changes. Times have really changed with advanced technology giving us so many solutions and choices when it comes to our decorating options. Make a statement with printed splashbacks as part of the overall decor in your kitchen and bathroom setting as the most contemporary in design choices.

Ride-On Lawnmowers The Hazards Of Overturning™
Tumblr media
IN 2007, the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board (OSHSB) considered a petition to require rollover protective structures (ROPS) and seatbelts on powered ride-on lawnmowers. The petition was brought by parents whose son was mowing grounds as a gardener when the mower hit a rock and overturned off a ledge. He flipped off the machine, which then landed on him. He was fatally injured and his parents claimed his life may have been spared had the mower been outfitted with a ROPS and seatbelt. California OSHSB (2007) granted the petition with a review of state rules to address the request. Bureau of Labor Statistics' national Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries reported that 169 employees in the landscaping industry were killed at work in 2006. Of a total of 116 mower-related occupational fatalities that included tractors from2003 to 2006, 66 (57%) workers were fatality injured while they operated a ride-on lawnmower. Figure 1 shows fatalities in private industry and not public entities such as city park employment. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has found that mower over turns were more frequent in 2003 than they were in 1993 (Adler & Schroeder, 2004). This increase in frequency may have been related to an increase in the use of ride-on lawnmowers. A 2002 profile by the Outdoor Power Equipment Industry (OPEI) of the sale of ride-on commercial rotary mowers showed an increase of 121% in the previous 4 years. This was an average increase of more than 20% per year (Comer, Ayers, Wang, et al., 2003). Also, there appeared to be a trend of increased incidence of lawnmower-related injuries with a lack of the awareness of lawnmower hazards (Costilla & Bishhai, 2006). Industry representatives indicated that overturns occur primarily in grassy areas such as golf courses, community parks and sports fields, and not when mowing residential lawns (OSHSB, 2007). The classification of mower types has been complex (Scarlet, Reed, Semple, et al., 2006). The traditional type of mower, used along roadsides, was of a sickle or rotary-type that was attached to a utility tractor, which has an engine with less than engine 90 hp (67 kW). Smaller mowers have evolved into lawn tractors or zero turn radius (ZTR) mowers---(Photos 1 and 2), according to Consumer Reports (2008). ANSI (2003) divided ride-on lawnmowers into consumer use---a concern for CPSC---and commercial use (ANSI, 2004)---a concern for OSHA---that were marketed to homeowners and employers, respectively. The purpose of this study was to describe the factors associated with the overturn hazard of the ride on lawnmower, which was defined as a self-propelled machine, designed and advertised formowing lawns (ASABE, 2005). These factors included characteristics inherent with the mower design that included rollover protection, commercial mower repair south daytona environmental conditions and human factors that spanned the time frame from prior or incipient circumstances through the overturn event to post event actions. The study used existing public data, which was biased toward serious injuries or fatalities that were reported or investigated and excluded successes of interventions that protected the operators from injury.
