grabs you

what are your inspirations for your style? who do you study in regards to your designs, color usage, and most importantly, composition? i must know

honestly I haven't been studying from any specific artists lately! Right now I'm trying to learn from the art style popular among Chinese internet artists, like this this and this, with high range in saturation values and more watercolourish colouring. I'm not quite there yet but this kind of soft vibrancy is something I really want to convey someday :D ezu is also a huge inspiration for me for colour and composition

I did start out learning from more specific artists like wlop, mianlang, awanqi, sainker, washanapple etc. I mostly referenced Wlop and Awanqi for shading, mianlang for colours, sainker for composition, and washanapple just in general.

I also had a collection of shining nikki in game art which taught me a lot about drawing clothes!

There's a lot of artists I didn't mention so the post doesn't get too long, but these are my biggest influences I think. As for my designs... honestly I can only think of like three original character designs I've posted on this blog? They were mostly inspired by historical European fashion :3
