Okay I was thinking about The Good Place, because of course, and I’m just so happy with the way Eleanor’s character and character development was shown. She started out sarcastic, quick witted, self confident, etc. But she was also rude and much of her confidence was unearned and she had little sympathy for others. And through the course of the show, she never lost her core personality by becoming a better person. She didn’t become this cookie cutter nice woman who was extremely polite and friendly. She didn’t become bland. She was still herself: sarcastic, quick witted, funny; she still told absurd stories from her time on earth, she was still who Chidi fell in love with, but she changed nonetheless by caring more about other people and becoming a more ethical person with Chidi’s help. The show really stayed true to the idea of people becoming the best versions of themselves. By becoming better, Eleanor didn’t become a new, non-Eleanor-y person. She was still her, but fundamentally more good hearted, and it was executed incredibly well.

Nothing will ever be as funny to me as doctor who from the masters pov. Your best friend wanders into the woods and befriends a group of squirrels. He decides he will protect that specific tree with his life, even at the cost of your own species. You are the last two humans in the world. You once again try to burn down that fucking tree

Being an evil doppelganger has to be so fucked up like imagine meeting a better version of yourself. Some chain of events going differently that led to "you" being a better person in a way you can never achieve. Personally I'd have no other option but to try and kill them

My prediction for next season of Severance is that Jame Eagan is going to offer Helly the chance to switch on permanently, completely replacing Helena. Helly's arc is going to be her grappling with the various aspects of this. Clearly this is a deal with the devil scenario. What is Jame going to demand from her in return for this opportunity to be a full-time person? How is she going to be expected to further Lumon's ends? How will she plan to subvert these expectations? Will this offer also be extended to Mark in order to further incentivize her? And, most importantly, how will they reckon with what this means for their outies? Both of their outies have treated them poorly and had zero compunctions about ending their existences. Helly's relationship with her outie is overtly antagonistic. So how would Helly and iMark emotionally deal with suddenly being on the other end of the power dynamic with their outies? Would Helly have as easy a time choosing to end Helena permanently as Helena would for her? Or would the innies' experience with being treated as disposable make them unable to go through with doing the same to their outies? Will they find a way to communicate and conspire with their outies? Will Helly find unexpected sympathy for her outie (seriously, imagine Helly being made to spend five minutes as Jame Eagan's daughter – she'd be like "Damn no wonder that bitch sucks" while he tries to make her drink raw eggs), and will Helena take advantage of this and try to screw her over? Or will they find real mutual understanding?

"Admit it. I did well. Just say it. Why can't you just say it? Why can't you just say I did good? Come on, why can't you say it? I was the Doctor and I was good. You were an exceptional Doctor, Clara. Goodness had nothing to do with it."

Who is your favourite companion?
TOURNAMENT MASTERPOST
Propaganda
Clara Oswald
No one is doing it like Clara Oswald. She’s bisexual, she’s a control freak, she’s made out with Jane Austen, she was the Doctor (and she was good at it). She looks like the normal one any time she’s standing next to twelve, but when you see her interact with humans on her own you realize how bad she is at acting like a normal person. Steven Moffat once said she’s what the Doctor would be like if they were a 20 something human woman stuck on earth. She is such an incredible enigma of compassion and bravery and ego. If she doesn’t make it to at least the top five then what are we even doing here. (@tardis-technician )
Jamie McCrimmon
He's the longest running companion (113 episodes!), the original companion with romantic tension with the Doctor, loyal as can be, on the same footing with the doctor despite being an 18th century highlander, he wears a kilt in space, and he was so devoted to the Doctor that he had to be forced away and have his memory erased, and the Doctor had to be grounded, for his run to end. Also really just watch a video of them they're so gay
What can I even say. It's Jamie Mccrimmon. He never would have chosen to leave the doctor, he's the doctor's most loyal companion. He's so Scottish and I love it! Always wears his kilt, gets excited when he hears bagpipe music and sees the Scottish Highlands on the Tardis screen, speaks GĂ idhlig, what's not to love. (@gothicacetheatrekid )
Jamie is the longest running companion in all of Doctor Who. He is arguably the doctor’s first best friend and has been haunting the narrative ever since his departure in 1969 (even in 2024 “Boom” he is referenced!! The 10th doctor uses his name in s2e2, and the doctor-turned-master in s13 plays the skyeboat song, which only became a huge part of Doctor who because of Jamie, who was a Jacobite! Several classic doctors meet/reference Jamie in tv and extended universe media, and if you’re an I, TARDIS fan you’ll find Jamie’s entry is the only one where it’s explicitly referenced that Doctor - and the TARDIS! - loved him). He is a very complex character, who might be dismissed but is much more intelligent than he is given credit for. He’s brave and kind. He has a huge fan theory that gained enough traction to become canon through tv stories and audios - “s6b” - in which he works with the Doctor under time lord supervision. He came into the show at its most crucial watershed, the first regeneration, and impacted so much of what we consider core to doctor who today through his friendship with the second doctor. He’s a companion from the past who is quick to learn and adapt, and was the first companion who wanted to join the tardis AND never wanted to leave, until he was forcibly removed. Jamie was with the doctor for pretty much his whole second body, and Doctor who would not be what it is today without Jamie.
#SHE MADE IT TO THE FINAL????#Clara my clara!!!#okay but jamie sounds awesome and like exactly the kind of companion to eat my brain so. you have my attention.

Helly says this right after mark explains Everything. So i assume the reason why gemma would have died post cold harbor is bc they actually Need to take the chip out of her brain? Which means people cant remove the chip without dying AND it would explain why cobel is helping. Ive been so curious about cobel’s motivations it couldnt Just be about screwing over lumon she’s too invested in the project, its HER project. rescuing gemma would end years of work. Except she convinced them cold harbor Had to be completed and now gemma/the chip is being delivered straight to her…

Constantly thinking about how Mark S. was totally onboard with saving Gemma at the beginning of the season, he found out his outtie had a wife who was trapped at Lumon and it did feel like the most important thing to him, “I mean I have to [save her], she’s my wife.” He’s doing as much as he can for his outie because he WANTS to work together with him, he believes they’re both equal and that his outies wife matters to them both. “I’ll bring her to the stairwell, I’ll go with, and then my outie will know what to do.” He had so much faith in his outie, that doing what was best for his outie was what was best for him, and throughout the season he just gets proven wrong over and over again. Mark Scout doesn’t see what he’s doing for him as noble or noteworthy, he sees it as the only reasonable option. Mark Scout doesn’t want to work together with his innie, he wants his innie to work for him towards his goals, and he’s not even thanking him for it. Mark Scout wants him to give up his life, or to reintegrate, not because it’s what will be best for Mark S., because it’s the only way to get him to do what he wants. Mark S. bought in more than anyone that the outties mattered more than them, that what mattered to the outties WAS what mattered to them, they just didn’t know it “I just hope I have things I care about, like really.” But even after putting his all towards his outties goals, no one cared. It didn’t buy him any good will, or any personhood, or any respect. What he was working towards wasn’t going to be his life, they didn’t want it to be, he wasn’t going to get to go home with Gemma. And no one was going to care about what he sacrificed, for a version of himself that didn’t even consider him human in the first place.
He did think it was worth it, until Mark Scout convinced him it wasn’t.
