Chapter One - Those First Glances

𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞 💌:

Ahh I’m literally so excited for this fanfic as I’ve been planning it for a while now!

I’ve used parts of the script but adding my own flair to it and also my own parts, and Amelia won’t be included in this story either,

I’m hoping that you guys will love it too,

𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚’𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐯:

As I step out of the jeep, I see the Villa right in front of me, my home for the next few weeks if I get that far,

𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦?

𝘐 𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 !

I strut my way into the Villa with the camera close to me, I stroll into the garden to find one girl there before me, she has long dark hair with glasses, I heard a squeal out of her when she notices me

‘Hi I’m Ivy, you look gorgeous!’

‘Thank you, so do you! My name is Isabella’, I reply with a soft smile

‘Oh my gosh, you’re Italian?’

‘Yes I am, I’m from Rome’

‘That’s really cool, can I get you a glass of champagne?’

‘Yes please Ivy’

‘Here you go’, she hands me a glass and we clink our glasses together

‘Thank you!’, then we hear heels clicking on the ground coming towards us,

the girl appears with bright blue hair,

‘𝘚𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘰𝘶𝘴’, I think to myself.

‘Well I hope that there’s a glass of champagne for me, I’m Bella and I have to say you both are beautiful’

‘Thanks Bella, I’m Isabella but everyone calls me Izzy’

‘Ivy’, is all she replies with a smile

‘So what are your types girls?’, Bella enquires after

‘Tall, dark and handsome, ambitious too of course’

Before my turn, I ask Bella ‘What is your type Bella?’

‘Fun and naughty, someone who’s impulsive, I like boys and girls’

I grin at her response, ‘You’re into girls too?’

‘Yes I’m open to anyone, so you are too Izzy, what about you Ivy?’

‘I just want the boys’

Next our discussion turns to our occupations

‘I’m a DJ’, Bella tells us

‘Ooh what do you like to play?’

‘A bit of everything, depends on the vibes in the venue, what is your occupation Izzy?’

‘I’m a bass player in a rock band’

‘That’s so cool! What’s your job Ivy?’

‘I’m a lab technician in Oxford,

absolutely loving it!…’

Bella interrupts Ivy, ‘There’s another girl coming’

I gaze around to see a girl who has blonde hair with pink tips coming towards us

‘I can’t believe that I’m actually here!

I’m Grace’

We join her in a group hug just by the pool

‘Well where are the boys?!’, Grace asks us,

I giggle at her enthusiasm and then I ask her

‘Most of us have answered so I’ll ask you, Grace what’s your type?’

‘I’m certainly looking for a man, not a boy!

One who can sweep me off my feet and who can treat me right’

‘I just remembered that you never told us your type Izzy’

‘I’ve had my fair share of heartbreak in the past, people mainly want me for my fame or money and I’m honestly sick of that but I want someone who is romantic and wears their heart on their sleeve, someone who I can spend the rest of my life with’

‘That makes sense for someone like you, wait how long have we been single for girls?’, Grace brings up the question

‘I’ve been single for a while now, must be about a year and a half I’d say’, I admit

‘I like living the single life but I want something real this time’, Ivy declares

‘Damn right and two years for me’, Grace replies

‘It must be about six months, wasn’t even that serious honestly but I’m ready for something deeper now’, Bella announces

‘Nothing serious for me since my first proper boyfriend’, Ivy utters

‘There’s nothing like your first love! How did it end with him?’

‘I got bored of waiting for him getting his life together, I mean who’s got time to wait for someone to step up?’

‘We definitely all have ditsy love stories, what is yours Izzy?’,

‘I think that we just wanted different things for our lives, that was a long time ago now, it did hurt though as I had caught strong feelings for him’

‘Nothing hits like your first love’, Bella responds

‘Sometimes in the streets of Rome,

I catch glimpses of him but that’s it,

I think that we should check out the Villa before the boys get here’

‘Let’s do it!’, Grace squeals and we race off together, first we end up in the bedroom, I notice my name on one of the beds so I lay down on it

‘Wow this is comfy!’

The three other girls jump onto their beds but Ivy’s is further away

‘I fancy more privacy while I’m here’, Ivy announces

‘Everyone is still gonna see and hear everything that goes on in here’, Bella states

‘When I crack on with someone it’ll be on the download though’, Grace replies

‘You definitely won’t miss it if I crack on with someone’

‘I’m thinking that you’re the noisy type Ivy’, Bella admits and Ivy perks up

‘I think that you’ll find that out soon enough’, we all share a laugh together

‘How do you like to crack on Izzy?’

Grace enquires

‘It’ll be on the down low for sure, I want it to be between me and my partner, it’s more romantic that way in my opinion’

‘Yes it feels more intimate too, I can’t wait to see everyone get their flirt on!’, Grace remarks and all of us place our suitcases next to our beds

‘I’m gonna go check out the terrace!’, Bella says and we rush out there, Grace lays down on the seats while Bella observes the flowers on the walls

‘This is gonna be perfect for the secret kisses!’, Grace comments

‘Ooh are we already planning our secret kisses Grace?’, I ask her

‘I might be’, Grace smirks

‘It would also definitely be perfect for listening into the boys’ secrets chats in the garden’

‘Someone is getting sneaky already!’, Bella exclaims and suddenly my phone pings, the other girls gasp as I say;

‘I got a text!’

‘Oh my gosh!’, Grace responds

‘We better get ready, to the dressing room girls!’, I exclaim loudly, we touch up our hair, makeup and of course our outfits too

‘Well I think I’m ready for action’, I say looking at myself in a mirror

‘You’re looking so stunning Izzy’, Bella remarks

‘Thanks Bella!’ And then Grace’s phone pings

‘I got a text, girls!’

‘𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆, 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒔. 𝑷𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒃𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 #𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕𝑷𝒊𝒄𝒌#𝑩𝒐𝒚𝒔𝑩𝒐𝒚𝒔𝑩𝒐𝒚𝒔’

‘𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘺 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘬, 𝘐’𝘮 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰 𝘫𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘴’, I think to myself, ‘𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘣𝘰𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦’.

We all let out a scream for Grace

‘Wish me luck, girls!’

Without another words, Grace runs out of the room

‘She certainly wasn’t time wasting’

‘Should we go to the terrace to get a sneak peek of the boys?’, I suggest

‘Yes Izzy, let’s do that!’, Ivy says with enthusiasm in her voice once we arrive at the terrace, we take turns peeking over the side at the garden below us, I look down but I can see them clearly enough but I can make out four boys and laughter coming from them

‘Sounds like she’s getting her flirt on’

‘You haven’t seen my flirt game yet girls, it’s all about eye contact’

Bella gasps, ‘Two boys stepped forward for her!’, looking down again we see Grace giving one of them a hug as she joins him,

My phone pings next

‘𝑰𝒔𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂, 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒘𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒔’

‘It’s time for me to have a closer look at them!’

‘Go get ‘em!’, Bella encourages and as I step away, I take a deep breath to relieve my nervousness.

I take my time strutting across the garden towards the four boys by the pool, I hear cheers from them as they all notice me

‘Time to see that flirt game you promised us Izzy!’, Ivy yells down from the terrace

I flutter my eyelashes at the boys as I strut my way past them, the boys seem excited as I hear ‘oohs’ from them

‘Ciao boys! I have to say, you’re all looking tasty to me! You guys were definitely worth the wait as am I, of course’,

I blow the boys each a kiss

‘Now that’s how you make an entrance Izzy!’,

Grace says clearly impressed, she’s with a tall boy, who gives me a grin full of confidence

‘I’m sure that you’ve got everyone’s attention there Izzy, I’m Ozzy’

‘Hey Ozzy, you two have just coupled up then?’

‘Vibes are there so I stepped forward’

‘Isn’t he gorgeous? Not that you’re not too Lewie’, a pretty blonde boy speaks up,

‘I stepped forward too, you two look good together, not gonna lie about that, although seeing you Izzy, I’m glad I’m still single, you look stunning so hopefully I’ll have a shot with you’, I stare over at the next boy waiting for him to starting talking

‘You’ll definitely have some competition there pal, Izzy I’m Jamal’, I watch as the lady boy in the line runs his hand through his dark wavy hair and then shoots me a cheeky smile

‘𝘎𝘰𝘴𝘩 𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘰𝘶𝘴’, I shoot him a wink

‘Hey Izzy, I’m absolutely loving your energy, I’m Ryan’

‘It really is lovely to meet you boys, I’d also love to hear a bit about yourselves’

‘I’m from Newcastle originally, I do backing dancing for artists’

‘Ooh, anyone we might know?’, I ask Ozzy

‘That would be telling now wouldn’t it? I do some modelling too but dancing’s my jam’

‘I’m a skateboarder and videographer’

‘Interesting, I’m in a rock band so I’ll let you know if we’re needing you for our music videos’

‘That’s cool! I film and edit videos for the social, my tricks and all that, I’ve also gotten deals from clothing brands so I have to promo stuff too, I don’t stay still for long’, Jamal laughs to himself and he speaks up again, ‘I’m usually up for anything, pick me and I can guarantee that you won’t get bored’,

Next I turn back to Lewie who smiles at me

‘I’m a footballer…’, before another word Grace says, ‘You didn’t tell me you are a footballer, is it too late to change my mind?’

‘I’m semi pro right now but possibly moving up a league next season, I’d say that I’m cool, calm and collected, except on the pitch or in the bedroom, I’m looking for a girl and we can be best mates but still have a spark together and someone I can bring home to have a Sunday roast with my nana’

‘Let me guess you’re a nana’s boy then?’,

I try my best to not start giggle

‘Yeah she’s a vibe, she cracks me up and I’m sure that you’d love her’,

I glance again at Ryan, I stare into his beautiful eyes as we hold intense eye contact together, it’s almost like we’re staring into each other’s souls

‘I’m a professional footballer’, is all he says

‘You’re kidding?’, Lewie sounds shocked

‘Yeah course I am, never played football in my life, more into my music that sports’

‘You’re a musician then?’, I ask Ryan with a flirty smile on my face

‘Yeah singer/songwriter, I play folky stuff but I love all kinds of music, I’m a old school romantic, I wear my heart on my sleeve, life’s too short for games, I want every moment together to feel unforgettable’

‘Good to know’

‘Enough about us, I want to know more about you Izzy, what’s your type?’

‘𝘠𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘺 𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’, was the first thought that came into my head to say but I think against it and reply with,

‘Earlier I said to the girls that I’m into the romantic and soulful type’

‘Stoked to hear that Izzy, especially since you’re exactly my type too’

‘I look forward to seeing that romantic side of yours Ryan, I can’t pretend like I’m not intrigued to see what romance with you looks like ‘cause I definitely am’

‘Hopefully it looks as beautiful as you right now, I hope you don’t think that’s too cheesy to say, I adore your blue eyes already’

‘I’ll admit yours aren’t too bad either’

Then my phone pings, 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦!

‘I got a text!’

‘𝑰𝒔𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂, 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒖𝒑 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒃𝒐𝒚. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕, 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒔, 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒏 𝑰𝒔𝒂𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂 #𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒑𝒍𝒆𝑼𝒑 #𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈’

I lock eyes with Ozzy who looks like he wants to step forward but looks at Grace and decides against it, then my eyes lock again with Ryan as he steps forward

‘I was always stepping forward for you’

‘You’re not the only one’, Jamal tells Ryan as he too steps forwards, giving me a flirty grin

‘I’d be punching with you Izzy, but I ain’t playing it safe here’, Lewie then steps forward

‘Woah, this is so flattering!’

‘So what’s it gonna be, Izzy?’, Grace asks clearly eager to know my decision

‘Oh Mamma Mia, how am I supposed to choose? Well you are all gorgeous looking but I’m gonna go with my heart now, the boy I’d like to couple up with is Ryan, you’ve definitely caught my eye the moment I laid eyes on you’

‘Well like Lewie said earlier, I’m punching, I can’t wait to get to know you better’

I notice Ryan beaming as I walk over to him, then he holds his arms out for a hug,

I couldn’t help but bring him into a hug and after we pull away, he grins as I stand next to him

‘I’m genuinely so happy that you picked me’, Ryan tells me

‘I’ve got a good feeling about you two’, Lewie remarks and Ryan replies with,

‘Cheers Lewie, appreciate that,

I’m feeling a connection for sure’

‘Yeah, you two are gonna be a vibe!’

Before I can say anything, Bella comes across the lawn grinning brightly

‘Who’s ready to take things up a notch? I’m Bella! Two couples already and you girls seem pleased with your choosing’

I nod at her with a smile, I can feel myself blushing

‘If you two other boys want to step forward, that would be great!’

Ryan gives me a reassuring smile and Bella grins as Lewie steps forward for her

‘You seem to be a bit of me, with that wild energy you’re bringing, they do say that opposites attract so I’m into it’

‘I’m not sure if we’re too different to work out or not but I’m curious to find out ‘cause you’re dreamy! The boy I want to couple up with is Lewie’, Bella gives Lewie a kiss on the cheek

‘Keep smiling Jamal, it’s not over yet’, Ryan advises him

‘Mate we’re just getting started!’

Head’s begin to turn as Ivy struts across the lawn, blowing kisses to each of the boys

‘Boys! Hope you’re not getting too attached to your ladies already’

‘Uh oh’, Grace blurts out

‘I’m Ivy, I’ll admit that you’re all a bit of me at the moment’

‘You’re gonna spice things up, aren’t you Ivy?’, Ozzy assumes

‘I have no plan on going home any time soon anyways’

‘She’s full of confidence’, Grace comments

‘You’re not kidding there’, Ryan responds and Ivy begins with her eye contact that she told us about earlier

‘Your eye contact’s something else’, Lewie utters

‘Outrageous isn’t it!’, Bella replies

‘Boys, who fancies stepping forward for an unforgettable ride?’

I look up at Ryan who gives me a reassuring squeeze on my hand

‘Sorry Bella, but she is a worldie’, Lewie says stepping forward

‘You do you pal, we’ve only just met’

Jamal steps forward too and tells Ivy,

‘You couldn’t be any more my type if you tried, you seem like a handful but so am I’

‘I certainly hope so’, Ivy says

‘I’m feeling that cheeky spark already!’

‘Oh is that what we’re calling it?’

‘Well I’m feeling like a third wheel’, Lewie admits and I enquire,

‘Who’s it gonna be then, Ivy?’

‘There’s something about all you boys, some of you are coupled up but no one’s married off yet, things are gonna change quickly here but the boy I’m going to couple up with us…’ ,

Ivy takes a look at Ryan for a second checked speaking again

‘Jamal’

‘Wasn’t expecting her to pick him’, Ryan whispers to me as Ivy goes over to Jamal and they share a kiss, looking like it was right out of a movie

‘I wasn’t expecting it either especially the way she looked at you for a second’,

I breath out

‘Can you see them working?’, Ryan asks and I think for a moment

‘I think I’m seeing heads turning as soon as the bombshells arrive’

‘I think you’re right about that, heads will turn’

‘It shall be interesting to see if they’re still all lovey dovey with each other then’

‘It will for sure, I’m intrigued to see how the first couplings are gonna work out but enough about that, I couldn’t be any happier right now, I was hoping that you’d pick me from the moment that I saw you’

‘Sounds like I’ve made an impact on you then’

‘I have to say that your flirty entrance was unreal, the boys were all drooling here’,

Ivy and Jamal’s kiss finally ends

‘You both finally needed some air?

That was an epic kiss’, Ozzy observed

‘We have to make the most of every second that we have here’

The couples stroll away from each other, every couple eager to get to know each other, Ryan and I take a seat on the swing seat together

‘That first coupling was intense, it worked out great though and you’re honestly so stunning especially in that outfit’

‘The recouplings to come I’m sure will get more intense as we go on, but looks like I’m ticking boxes for you then?’

‘You for sure are, no complaints yet!

Tell me more about yourself Izzy’

‘As I’ve said I’m in a rock band,

I play the bass and if you couldn’t tell by my accent I’m Italian’

‘Wow that’s amazing! I’m glad that we’ve got music in common’

‘Same I was hoping that I’d find someone who’s also in the music industry here’

‘Now that we’re coupled up, is there anything that you would like to ask me?’

Ryan asks and I think of a perfect question instantly

‘What are you hoping to find here in the villa?’

‘Maybe I’ve found it already’,

I cover my face with my hands as blush creeps up on my cheeks

‘Really?’, I mutter

‘Just joking, it is too early to know how deep out connection will be, I think that we definitely have a connection and I assume that you think so too since you choose me and also because you cheeks are bright red right now…’ Ryan lets out a chuckle

‘I’ve had flings in the past but I want to be head over heels in love now with a girl who has me up at all hours of the night writing songs about her’

‘Aww that’s sweet! I was gonna say that I’d write songs about you too but I’m definitely not a good singer’

‘I’m sure I could make a singer out of you in more ways than one if you know what I mean ‘cause maybe we’d stay up all night doing something else too’, Ryan smirks at me and I wink at him, we can hear Ivy’s flirtatious laughter from across the lawn

‘Looks like some of the other couples are hitting it off as well, I think I’ve already got my read on the first couples’ Ryan points out

‘Really? That’s quite fast, we haven’t been here that long’, I ask him curiously

‘I’ve always been a quick reader of people’

‘Ooh have you now?’

‘I’m liking what my gut is telling me about you so far’

‘I’m certainly glad to hear that coming from you’, I smile at Ryan which he returns

‘Do you wanna continue chatting with me?’

‘Of course I do! I’m excited to get to know you on a deeper level’

‘Great! I was hoping that you’d say that’

‘I wanna know your read on the other couples then?’

‘I’m not really sensing too much speaks with Bella and Lewie’

‘I mean I understand that ‘cause he stepped forward for Ivy after all’

‘My gut is telling me that they’ll be a friendship couple, as I’ve said I’m not sure if Ivy’s gonna be 100% about Jamal’

‘Yes I’m thinking the same myself’

‘I’m glad that we’re seeing things the same way already’

‘What about Ozzy and Grace? They seem to be getting closer already’, I request

‘My senses are telling me that Grace might be more into Ozzy than he is into her’

‘Why do you think that?’

‘I was almost certain that Ozzy was going to step forward for you’

‘That’s interesting’

‘Can’t blame him though, I’m sure that you’ve turned everyone’s head’

Ryan stares directly into my eyes

‘Although I reckon that we’re the couple with the best vibe so far, what’s your thoughts on that?’

‘I’m definitely feeling a vibe between us, I think that we look like a power couple already’

‘We’re on the same page then, I’m excited to see how things go between us’,

Ryan glances into my eyes once more and then down at my lips, I can’t help but give him a flirty smile as I lean into Ryan, I tease him by pausing as our lips are about to touch each other’s, trying to saviour this moment, after a second I press my lips against his, I feel his fingers through my hair with the intensity of our kiss, I give Ryan another soft kiss before pulling away

‘Wow, that was something else’

‘Were you tempted by any of the other girls?’, I enquire

‘What other girls? I don’t see any?’,

Ryan looks deep into my eyes as I watch him laugh

‘So did any of the other boys catch your attention at the coupling?’

‘Honestly you’re the only boy who’s caught my eye so far’

‘I can’t see past you at the moment’

‘I’m glad to hear that’

Ryan beams while glancing with wonder across the garden

‘It still doesn’t feel real, I’m absolutely buzzing, shall we go see what everyone else is saying?’

‘I couldn’t agree more, my band mates thought that I was mad for applying but here I am and yeah let’s go’

I link arms with Ryan as we head towards the other Islanders

‘You two were looking cozy over there’,
