Hinata who had friends but not teammates. Kageyama who had teammates but not friends. Hinata had the sense of teamwork needed to succeed but not the skill. Kageyama had the skill but not the teamwork. How their first freak quick was a perfect blend of Hinata's unwavering trust and Kageyama's overwhelming skill.
How that was reversed in their fight in season 2 when Hinata's greed to improve his own skill drove him to get in the way of his teammates; and Kageyama's insistance on not messing with the team's equilibrium led him to deny the possiblity of improving their attack. How their new quick attack born out of that still had Hinata's trust at the center but also allowed him to contribute his own skill. And it still relied on Kageyama's genius talent with the new toss but it also incorporated his growth in letting go of some of his control to depend on others.
How they found not only a friend and teammate in eachother but a partner. And how that partnership provides them with both someone who will drive them to always improve, and with someone they can always rely on. Because Hinata needed someone who would recognize his abilities even with the obvious handicap of his height. And Kageyama needed someone who would never turn their back on him even with his abrasive and controling nature.
And so on the steps up to the clubroom before their first tournament together Hinata promised he would still be there in ten, twenty years. And Kageyama promised that he would take them to the top of the world.
As long as I'm here, you're invincible.

we know nekoma and seijoh are teams that emphasize a strong defense, which is what makes them such difficult opponents for karasuno, but what really intrigues me is how both teams revolve around their setter in ways that other teams don't, and yet i feel like nekoma and seijoh couldn't be more different in terms of how their team is built around their setter.
at nekoma, the team is built in a way to make playing as easy as possible for kenma. kuroo has his little speech about how they're the blood, and they need to flow smoothly in order for the brain (kenma) to work properly. kenma may guide them, but the team moves to support him, to be there when he needs them to be.
as for seijoh, oikawa builds the team himself. he's their captain, their leader–he even runs practice. whereas nekoma revolves around kenma, oikawa leads his teammates. he matches his plays to their strengths, using them as best he can, demanding that they make themselves available where they need to be.
the setter may be the control tower of the team, but each control tower is different.

me: i don’t want to see jellyfish so i will blacklist the tag #jellyfish
people with no common sense: je11yf1sh, je11¥fi5h, j*llyf*sh, je//ÿf!sh, j3ï||yf¡sh, gel lee fisk
result: cannot account for the sheer amount of possible ways to alter the word jellyfish
conclusion: i have to see jellyfish now.
Once again, tumblr is not tiktok, tag properly.

Every person need to be taught disability history
Not the “oh Einstein was probably autistic” or the sanitized Helen Keller story. but this history disabled people have made and has been made for us.
Teach them about Carrie Buck, who was sterilized against her will, sued in 1927, and lost because “Three generations of imbeciles [were] enough.”
Teach them about Judith Heumann and her associates, who in 1977, held the longest sit in a government building for the enactment of 504 protection passed three years earlier.
Teach them about all the Baby Does, newborns in 1980s who were born disabled and who doctors left to die without treatment, who’s deaths lead to the passing of The Baby Doe amendment to the child abuse law in 1984.
Teach them about the deaf students at Gallaudet University, a liberal arts school for the deaf, who in 1988, protested the appointment of yet another hearing president and successfully elected I. King Jordan as their first deaf president.
Teach them about Jim Sinclair, who at the 1993 international Autism Conference stood and said “don’t mourn for us. We are alive. We are real. And we’re here waiting for you.”
Teach about the disability activists who laid down in front of buses for accessible transit in 1978, crawled up the steps of congress in 1990 for the ADA, and fight against police brutality, poverty, restricted access to medical care, and abuse today.
Teach about us.

we'll talk about cis men having fragile egos but tbh! patriarchal gender roles gives everyone fragile egos when it comes to gender because its inherently unhealthy. it ties the very concept of self to gender & then makes gender something one can easily fail at. cis women who feel attacked when told they hurt someone (because they feel like their role as a caretaker is being threatened) and cis women who get angry at gender neutral medical language (because the patriarchy values the idea that womanhood & pregnancy (& everything related to it) are synonymous) are behaving in the same way men who feel attacked when their masculinity is threatened. trans people will also do this too, sometimes overcompensating because we have to fight ten times as hard to not be seen as failures by default. patriarchal gender is always fragile and quick to lash out because the patriarchy survives on fear and specifically the fear of losing one's self via gender failure (& the material punishments that come with that). hope this helps

Miles Morales, Kingpin, and Miguel O’Hara are all such interesting foils of each other. All three experience loss and grieve with alternative methods.
Kingpin refuses to accept the reality of his loss while still being aware that he caused his family’s death. In his refusal, he attempts to rip space and time apart, not caring about the consequences of ripping them from another world. He wants a redo, however, Fisk does not ultimately learn from their deaths, he continues on his path of crime using their demise as justification rather than a cause for change. Fisk is blinded by a simple goal of having his wife and child back, yet does not consider whether they would want to be with him knowing the crimes he has committed.
Miguel does the inverse, he places himself into a new world to live out a happier version of his life - one that does not ultimately belong in. He ends up causing the destruction of that world, paying the ultimate price for his selfishness. He takes this lesson to heart with the additive that all Spider-man must suffer. Miguel never conceived the idea that he could create his own happiness in his universe. He learns from his trauma but does not see a way to work past it.
Miles has the chances to alter what might happen, the death of his father, and wants to jump at the opportunity. He is not asking for a redo (like Kingpin) or a restart (Miguel), instead he simply wants to give everything he has in attempts to free his father. Why just let something horrible happen if it is not clear it has to? As Gwen discovers, the death of a captain can be interpreted many ways in the canon (her dad quits, aka his career as captain is dead). Why not try to save him, where is the harm in that? Miles might not have meant to be Spiderman in his universe, but that doesn’t mean he should disengage from the role entirely.

You just know May gets absolutely spoiled for mother's day. Peter probably went out and got her flowers and candy and planned to make her dinner only for Tony to show up and say no way, we're going out some place nice so they all put on their best clothes but they're not even out the door before Happy shows up with more flowers and a gift that was something he knew May had planned to buy for herself so he got it for her and May ends up crying because she's not even technically a mom but they all respect her for being Peter's mom and there's lots of hugs

This 4th of July, if you are not feeling very patriotic, that's okay. If you want to enjoy fireworks but feel guilty about participating in the celebration of a nation that has let you down, well, it's ok. Times are rough. There is a lot going on out there. However, I do want to provide a way for folks like this to enjoy the days festivities.
Don't celebrate USA. Celebrate TEAM USA!
Which one? Who cares?! Jumble the bag around and pull one out. Go for your favorite sport! Go for your favorite athlete! Go for some person whose picture you recognize from an inspirational post you saw one time and liked but didn't reblog.
This 4th of July I will be celebrating my favorite World Cup soccer team, Team USA
Tumblr media
I will also be celebrating the multi time world champions Women's Team USA!
Tumblr media
And how can you not cheer for these gals? How can you not celebrate Rapinoe? How she taunted the homophobic French crowd?
Tumblr media
Or what about the Olympic Team USA?
Tumblr media
Shoot, you can even celebrate the nation that gave the world comic books, professional wrestling, and jazz!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However you have your 4th and whatever you celebrate,
I hope you have a great day!
