I do think that people in the Stormlight fandom underestimate how exhausting it is to live through a war. Which makes sense, because I imagine most people don't have that experience! (Including me— I'm pulling from family and community history here.). But it's normal to go through hell and just be tired at the end of it. To be ready for it to be over and just live, even if it means compromising on some things.

To me, Rlain's choices and allegiances are the most understandable thing in the world. After years of being alone and vulnerable and afraid, after watching his people die, for Rlain to be like "these people have carved out a place for me where I can just live and they genuinely try to make it a good place, so I don't care what color their uniforms are"? Like, yeah. I buy that completely.

And honestly, saying "I'm tired of fighting, let's try something new" can be an incredible act of bravery.

Kids on the internet now a days are literally wild.. like when I was 12 and on the internet, i was lying out my asshole I was telling people about my kids and my wife. I’m about to have a fun afternoon.

So my trainer’s bf cheated on her. She broke up with him. He’s holding her stuff hostage until she agrees to talk with him. Which she refuses.

She trains; for free mind you; three college linebackers, a college wrestler, two martial artists, a body builder, and… wait for it…. a Navy seal. We’re gonna go get her shit for her.

This should make for an interesting story.

being as it is the domain of women, it is plausible that alethi lighteyes society has its own open secret lesbian culture which operates primarily through academia, particularly tutor/ward dynamics. being as she is way too ace for this shit, the real reason that jasnah kholin kept rejecting young women who wanted to become her ward is that she was fed up with them developing crushes on her. she gave shallan davar a chance, due to her persistence and obvious intelligence, however the poor girl is yet another in a long line of young women with hopeless crushes on the princess of alethkar. time to fob her off onto adolin before things get out of hand.

renarin is basically a textbook case of autism (and not even in the Asshole Savant way, which is nice), and so is jasnah. just as everyone immediately clocks renarin as having Weird Vibes which make him stand out as not like the people around him, everyone immediately notices jasnah... has Weird Vibes which make her stand out as not like the people around him. except the Weird Vibes are "perfect mask of being coldly logical which makes everyone think of her as not really being human or empathetic or emotional like Normal People". which she did to herself so people would actually respect her. great way to slowly destroy your sanity!
