One of the largest projects I've been working on is this typeset and book version of 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors, one of my very favorite video games. (Which later became the first game in the Zero Escape franchise.)
The game is a visual novel and escape room game combo with multiple routes and endings leading to a true ending. So this version is structured like a Choose-your-own-Adventure book where you flip to different pages depending on your choices.
I also made it possible to skip all the less linear escape/puzzle sequences because they don't read very cohesively. But they do contain a lot of funny or revealing lines so I didn't want to eliminate them entirely.
I should also mention one of the reasons for doing this is that I wanted to preserve the original text of the game from the Nintendo DS version from 2010. When it was remastered/ported to PC and Switch a lot of the dialogue was rewritten very much for the worse. As well as making the novel sections optional, which destroys a lot of the point and atmosphere of the game.
The book is a full leather casebind, with stenciled titles. The leather was honestly a little too thick and required a lot of paring, which is terrifying because any slip could ruin it. And the final satin finish I put on made a lot of the leather flaws look worse and more obvious, which is annoying. It was my first time doing faux raised bands on the spine, and they came out nice.
My printer decided to fuck with me while printing this one and the color alignment is off. This is my second attempt at printing it and it's better than the first but still not great. But I wasn't gonna waste so much paper again.
And no, I'm not planning on doing the sequels. I can't imagine trying to deal with VLR's 28 endings when doing 6 was this challenging and annoying. And the sequels are perfectly represented by their existing playable versions, unlike 999.

in fics where luke gets plopped into the prequels i want every jedi within ten metres of him to think hes the weirdest jedi theyve ever seen. he has negative lightsaber form. he doesnt know what a kata is. he handstands when he meditates. his solution to sith is to try and have a chat. hes a political radical who keeps suggesting revolution. you ask him what the jedi code is and he says "kindness and compassion and helping those in need :) ". you ask how he used the force like that and he says some shit about how you are a luminous being limited only by your mind. the councils authority is just a suggestion. he is somehow the new favourite of both qui gon and yoda

What gets me is that Tuvok was actually assimilated. Like, the others had their magical neural suppressant or whatever and that's the handwave for why they weren't hugely transformed by the experience in the way that, say, Picard or Seven of Nine were (though it still doesn't explain why they weren't traumatized by, you know, having massively invasive surgeries performed on them without anesthetic); but Tuvok was *actually* absorbed into the Hivemind; he actually became a Borg and went around calling himself "Three of Twelve". But whatever; he's Vulcan; he just buries the life-altering experience, and nobody ever discusses it with him. It just gets added to the soup of rage and trauma that he has perpetually boiling beneath a paper thin façade of Vulcan logic. It's all good. Whatever.

"The ancestors of the Xaela believed their veins to run thick with the blood of Nhaama—their lustrous black scales and fiery wills serving as proof of this divine lineage."
I like that Menphina is here to spread unconditional love to the children of Etheirys.

Realizing that Amok Time, from T'Pring's perspective, is basically the equivalent of a Vulcan Hallmark Movie, where a holiday (Pon Farr) makes our hero realize she wants hometown boy Stonn and a simple (Vulcan) life instead of big-city (space) boyfriend Spock, and it all comes to a head in an embarrassing misunderstanding in front of her family, is certainly making me feel some kind of way

Juneteenth doesn’t just celebrate the end of nearly 250 years of black chattel slavery—a brutal institution of forced labor, sexual abuse and exploitation, and wanton violence.
The day also celebrates the defeat of the Confederacy, a traitorous entity founded on the cornerstone belief of white supremacy and perpetual black subjugation, as famously declared by Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens.
For that reason, amidst the revelry of the occasion, it’s also critical to acknowledge that while the Confederacy may be long dead, Confederate ideology is alive and well—particularly among the Republican faithful.
America as a whole has a white supremacist problem, but it is perhaps nowhere more pronounced than on the political right, where openly revanchist, authoritarian, and anti-democratic powers consistently prove they are motivated by white racial resentment and vengeance. In short, the GOP is the neo-Confederate party.

In case you haven't been keeping up with the latest in Reddit drama:
CEO backhandedly threatens to seize control of shuttered subreddits that are protesting, by replacing the mods with more pliable/amenable ones
He couches this as the need to respect the will of the people, because the entire narrative he's been spinning is that only a few people are ruining the site for everyone
He also de-legitmizes all the hard work mods have done cultivating and maintaining popular subreddits by equating them to "landed gentry"
Some subreddits (like r/apple) reopen under duress, because they don't want to have their hard-earned communities stolen from them
Others (r/gifs, r/aww, r/pics) decide to go the malicious compliance route. After all, if this is all about respecting the will of the people, then let's by all means give them the same sort of narrow pathway forward that the CEO himself is offering
They put up polls with 2 choices: Either everything goes back to the way it was before the protests, or every post must be John-Oliver-related (i.e., sexy pics of John Oliver, gifsets of John Oliver, etc etc etc)
I mean after all, let's give the people choice, just the sort of choice you're offering mister CEO?
John Oliver wins in a landslide
Meanwhile, John Oliver - who has been conspicuously silent on Twitter since May1st (as he respects the writer's strike) - breaks his silence to give blessing.
He doesn't just give blessing though - he starts supplying embarrassing photos of himself to stoke things
The people have spoken
