Challenges in Govt. Schools - Lack of Teachers & Classrooms
During our field interactions, we realised that two major challenges faced by government schools is lack of classrooms and teachers.
Due to lack of classrooms, students from different grades have to sit together. Even if a teacher uses multi-media on a smart class, they are unable to engage students from different grades equally.
And as this video showcases, due to lack of teachers, students from senior grades end up teaching or helping the one's from the junior grades.
TABLAB with its student centric approach and interactive and fun learning content in local language can offer such schools an excellent way to engage the students and make them proactively fall in love with learning.

Changing Face of E-learning at Government Schools
Education is the backbone of every society in this world. But quality education is the dream for many. Only few out of 229 million students in India receive it from good teachers along with teaching aids. It is truly said,“Good quality education is a foundation for dynamic and equitable societies.” According to UNICEF survey, 40-50% of students drop out from schools and become child- laborers.
Government is taking various initiatives to improve the situation of education in Government schools of India. In 2015-16, they allocated a huge amount of Rs.65, 869 crore and Rs.70, 505 crore for the year 2016-17 totally for education outlay.Government has mandate corporate with at least 5 crore revenue to devote 2% of its annual revenue for CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).
CSR in School Education in India
Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR , as the name suggests, is an idea in which an individual or corporate or business is anticipated to follow a business model which boost the expansion of both the company and the government schools at large.
Digital Learning in schools is new, innovative way of learning that presents schools with a new alternative, as well as a new means of solving problems. While traditionally undertaken in a classroom-based or instructor-led environment, more and more government schools are now adopting technology to deliver training to the ever increasing number of students in learning environment. This will also promote digital literacy in schools.
E-learning for government schools in India offers a lot of value compared to more traditional training options, like facilitated sessions or lectures, enjoyable learning with tablab. E-learning
is just-in-time/needs-based: It’s possible to create, publish, and share a course within a few hours. The software is so easy to use that almost anyone can create engaging courses.
spans multiple devices/mobile: Online courses can work on computers as well as on mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets. This will enhance digital literacy in schools with play-way learning mechanism. This will incorporate tablets in CSR which will contribute in school education. There will be one to one learning with tablets
has a global reach: E-learning can simply be placed online and easily accessed to all the people in world. Hence, no need for expensive travel or meetings across multiple time zones.
can be either an asynchronous or synchronous activity: E-learning has been asynchronous traditionally, which means there is no predetermined time for the learning to take place. Everyone can learn at their own pace. However, more synchronous e-learning is now being offered through facilities like web conferencing and chat options. The great thing about e-learning is it gives you the option to do either of two or both of them.
