Might wedding bells for Callen and Anna herald the (latest) long-awaited return of NCIS: Los Angeles‘ Hetty?

Original cast member Linda Hunt’s enigmatic character last appeared on-camera in May 2021, at the close of Season 12, when Hetty fittingly ended her previous vanishing act to wish Nell and Eric well with their post-NCIS life.

Coming off of that, there was a plan to have Hunt back for Season 13, and ideally to a greater degree, but you know what they say — “Man plans, and God and COVID surges laugh.” As a result, Hunt appeared only in last October’s premiere, where Hetty informed Kilbride that she needed to return to Syria (where she had spent much of Season 12 and apparently left things a mess).

Callen, as a result, was left to rummage around by himself for the newest,latest truth about his childhood — namely, whether he was but one of many youths “recruited” and mentored by Ms. Lange. But on a much happier note, Season 13 ended with Callen proposing to Anna Kolchek in front of a beach sunset, and his longtime girlfriend gleefully accepting.

As part of TVLine’s in-depth NCIS: Los Angeles Fall Preview, showrunner R. Scott Gemmill said that shortly after Season 14 opens (on Sunday, Oct. 9), Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell) will be thinking about his and Anna’s (Bar Paly) upcoming wedding when “he realizes he has unfinished business, and wouldn’t want to get married without Hetty present.” Callen’s wish to have his adoptive mother on hand for his big day will — eventually, hopefully — precipitate a return for Hetty and the 77-year-old Hunt.

“The plan,” Gemmill says, “is to go and rescue her at some point, find out what she’s gotten herself into.

“We’re just trying to figure out schedule-wise when we can pull that off,” he added. “That was the plan last year, too, but it didn’t come to fruition. We had a bit of a [COVID variant] surge, but things seem to be settling down a bit. Hopefully, nothing new comes along and we can make the happen this year.”

6x14: Black Winds-Where Deeks is Environmentally friendly (he is so cute)

Damn I love when Deeks gets like this. He is such a good man and when he is trying to do the right thing and be environmentally friendly he gets pricked for it (Kensi’s Cactus 🌵karma) shock is so cute but I don’t like seeing our boy get hurt for doing the right thing.

I know it’s been awhile since I have posted anything (I have been very sick, I have terminal stage 4 appendix (bowel) cancer) and have been in and out of hospital 🏥 but I am trying to catch up with my blogs. So I am posting this clip for my dear friend @blogger360ncislarules since I have promised her a backlog of clips and I keep on breaking that. I hope this one will make her smile thou.

5x03: Omni-Where Callen and Sam get busted

Oh no. It’s funny that you two think you would could ever sneak past Hetty with her precious baby (who I will forever think is called hello gorgeous) out from under her nose.

The funny thing was that even if you guys did you didn’t even have a plan on who would have driven her car.

It’s a good thing that Kensi and Deeks would be taking it to the track as bait.

5x03: Omni-Where Kensi DRIVES Hetty Cobra

While undercover Kensi had to use one of Hetty’s precious babies (Her Gorgeous Cobra) as bait while Deeks looked for clues. Deeks was right and Kensi had to prove that she owned the car so she had to drive it and yeah it must have been an amazing feeling.

Hetty seemed to be enjoying the show once she got over her shock of course too. If the smile that graces her face said anything.

Back in the day (on Hawaii Five-0 season 2 and NCIS Los Angeles season 3) when Kensi was disappearing to Hawaii to speak to her dads old teammates on his death, she was called on by Joe White to help Steve McGarrett with the audio on a video to do with his dad, Wo-Fat and the corrupt Governor Jameson.
