I’m so tired of the crazy mischaracterization of Toji
This is especially relevant on tiktok.
“He is broke”
Clearly not when he’s an assassin. Does he gamble? Yes! But no where does anything show that he’s a broke man- not that there’s anything wrong with being one (I am too), but let go of this overused joke.
“He smells bad”
NOOOWWW- where did this even come from?? If it’s related to him being broke, then that’s just crazy to assume not having money = being dirty. Especially that he’s someone that is canonically pulling ladies, that man ain’t smelly, when it’s his thing to charm
“Misogynist/treats women bad etc etc”
I literally don’t understand where this even started, but the amount of posts showing him being straight up being an abuser and everyone in the comments was agreeing that he would be one.
THIS MAN, turned into the “bad guy” because he lost his wife, she was his life.
This man HATED the Zenin clan that was actually misogynistic.
This man had ladies spending money on him, would this man then be against women working? Or have any of these random traits he’s getting??
So yeah, people need to differentiate between a character being blunt and rude in specific situations, to him being a straight up evil menace

SPOILER ALERT LEAKS: JJK 259
I was literally making a list of all the fictional men I love, and realized a pattern where they either turned into a villain or died, but then I added Choso and was genuinely happy my precious boy is with his brother- THE THIS HAPPENS

Stop I’m going to cry again
"Malaysia... That's right, Malaysia. I should go to Kuantan. I'll build a house on an empty beach. The books I have bought but never read has piled up like a mountain. I want to read them slowly, as if I'm retrieving the lost time."

Count this as me screaming into the void but
Something so profoundly cathartic about fictional universes like JJK is that they deal with the whole “child soldier” trope by having some characters who stand up for the children and their rights to be children.
Nanami Kento knew so deeply what it was like to have his entire childhood/young adulthood taken away from him, and he made it his mission to protect the “normal” people of society and the children who would one day fill his shoes, and that's just so close to my heart it's scary.
“Being a child is not a sin.”

Nanami: the duality(s) of man
Nanami Kento (七海 建人) is arguably one of the more complex characters in jjk. A lot of contrasts are packed in one character, it’s actually amazing. And yet, he is still so relatable.

Nanami’s name in kanji is actually interesting. His family name, Nanami (七海) is written with “seven” (七) and “sea” (海) kanji, but it also can be read as “seven” (七 = nana) “three” (三 = mi), a suggestion to his cursed technique. His given name, Kento (建人), is written with “build” (建) and “man” (人) kanji.
