I could not find a retweet to anything that I had to say on twitter. I just did not add a lot of content that was very interesting. I am not a digital native and I have been fine for years just interacting only on Facebook with friends and family. I never even heard of Klout.com and had other social media accounts opened but I never used them. I am not a very social media engager. I felt that I should get to know more about it which I have throughout the course of this class and I will take the information I have learned and slowly expand it to help in my future.
The post that received virtually no activity at all was in the very beginning of the class and I was setting up all my social media accounts, and this included Klout.com. The tweet itself was more of a personal announcement and really left any reason to engage it further. It simply stated Steven Smith @actioncompman I just connected my @klout account with Google plus.

The post that received the most activity on Twitter was the video about President George W. Bush. It was during the ALS ice bucket challenge and is funny to watch. I show the power that the challenge had on people. The fact that the president was challenged and perform the challenge shows the reach that this challenge had. Not only did average everyday people get involved but celebrities and yes even the former President of the United States.

When I started this class I had like three followers and I followed about the same. Since the class I now have twenty followers and most of them are from our online social media account. I learned how to make lists and make it easier to engage with fellow student through Twitter. I am still a novice at all of this but I now have a framework to get better.

It seems that during the initial activity my Klout score rose to a high of 53.75. I think this was due to all the activity in setting up my accounts and linking them to Klout. I also put up some information about myself and my family added photos and such. I then was engaged throughout the class in various tweets and post from fellow classmates. My Klout score slowly declined ending with a 43.24. I am not sure what the average would be for someone such as myself who is not very active on social media. I did find it interesting that there was a service to track your social presence.

A little racy on this post but an example of fake news nonetheless. Seems like you can find a fake story like this with different people of coarse on just about any celebrity or politician if you just seek it out. LOL
I think that Facebook is responsible in the same way a gun is responsible for killing a person. Facebook was meanly the conduit used to rig an election. I do think that there should have been more oversight in looking a false claim but ultimately its freedom of speech. Even though the speech is a lie it didn’t insight a riot, like screaming fire in a movie theater would. Even if Facebook took it down the second it went up a million people would have seen in and copied it and kept the story going.
The main take away I got for the extra reading was the fourth point; cabal news ratings went up. News has become nothing but a means to hold your attention. This last year’s election was nothing but attention. News has also become very partisan. Fox news hears a story that can hurt Hillary Clinton and they will run with it. The story will play over and over all day long even if they know it’s fake. The next morning they will simply say in one small, short statement; the statement we made was incorrect. A fiftieth of their views will see this and even more will ignore it. The fake news crazy took on even more of a life after Trump won. He won so he must be telling the truth and must be right, otherwise everyone that voted for his are lying and wrong. The president had made false claim after false claim and the media continues to cover it as though they are facts. The reason for this is because the crazy the store the more people tune in.

Great job and great example on this week's assignment!
In my opinion, Facebook is only slightly responsible for the 2016 election results. I believe that people are capable of making their own choices, and I like to think that we are going to trust our own instincts rather than a fake article about either candidate on social media. However, I do know that there is a section of the population that is gulible enough to believe those lies.
With regard to the article, “5 Key Takaways About the State of the News Media in 2016″, I saw a lot of truth in the fourth point. This “fake news culture” was only fueled more by television networks, specifically cable networks. With ratings through the roof at these networks, they kept feeding the public these fake news stories. It might not be the greatest thing to say, but hey, at least it’s the truth for once.
Do you actually think that Hillary Clinton is running a child sex shop out of a pizza shop? Or Trump’s claim that we are experiencing high volumes of voter fraud in the United States? I don’t think I do, and neither should anyone else.

@GStephanopoulos

I have chosen to follow and write about ABC News Good Morning America Anchor George Stephanopoulos. It is common for a news outlet like ABC, CNN, or Fox News to require that its journalists use social media to promote and support their work and help market their brand. Often, these professionals will maintain two or even more accounts on each social media platform to keep their personal lives separate from their professional ones. George Stephanopoulos has a very active and presence on Twitter with 2.55 million followers @GStephanopoulos. So it seems pretty clear that he has gained the trust of the people that follow what he has to tweet. He can be found on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/GeorgeStephanopoulos, and his branding and image appear to be similar and stable across other social platforms. You can find the lighter side of George on his Instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/gstephanopoulos/. He has multiple accounts on all the popular social media outlets and seems to be doing a great job branding himself and separating his professional and personal lives. George Stephanopoulos ranks fourth place on Twitter's most influential political journalist's list as of April 14'th along with some other big players in the field. 1. Anderson Cooper, CNN 2. Rachel Maddow, MSNBC 3. Jake Tapper, CNN 4. George Stephanopoulos, ABC News 5. Christiane Amanpour, CNN 6. Ezra Klein, Vox 7. Nate Silver, FiveThirtyEight 8. Mike Allen, POLITICO 9. Chuck Todd, NBC News 10. Brian Stelter, CNN I think ABC and George are doing an excellent job in separating him as a leading brand and connecting him with ABC's branding efforts also. I am sure it takes a lot of people and resources to keep all of his Social Media accounts current and relevant to bring in, even more, followers to him online and when he is in the studio and on television.

In a rough election year defined by made-up stories and fake news, A home-grown, self-taught practitioner, named Mr. Harris with no ties to Russian spy agencies may have had a major impact on who became president. As Mr. Trump takes office this week, the beneficiary of at least a modest electoral boost from a flood of fakery, ChristianTimesNewspaper.com, make for an illuminating tale. There was no shortage of fake news out there on the Internet this last electoral cycle and it was everyday people involved with it as well and people were feeding on it everyday.

In the article “5 key takeaways about the State of the News Media in 2016″ the most interesting piece of information is that the way the money was spent during this past election cycle. There was explosive growth in mobile advertising, which increased by 65%, reaching $32 billion higher than desktop advertising for the first year ever. Traditional advertising was down with newspaper advertising being hit the hardest followed by local television advertising. I think the big story is that almost two-thirds of this $60 billion in digital advertising spending 65% went to just five technology companies: Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Microsoft and Twitter. It appears that these five Social Media Giants is where politicians want to bet their money on buying or influencing their next electoral vote. With daily newspapers looking shakier than ever, digital advertising and audiences continuing to grow, fueled many to try to push the voter in a certain direction by creating fake news campaigns on the internet and they may have actually influenced the outcome of this last election giving Trump the fuel he needed to get elected.

More than 500,000 people in our community do not have enough food for a healthy, active life. The CalFresh Challenge encourages people to experience what life can be like for many of our neighbors who rely on food stamps as they struggle to avoid hunger, afford nutritious food and stay healthy with very limited resources.
Could you maintain a food budget of $34.31 for a week? That’s about $4.90 per day. For more than 285,000 low-income San Diego County residents, $34.31 is their weekly allotment for all of their food and beverage needs. This week marks the 8th annual CalFresh Challenge running today through Sunday, Sept. 21. The CalFresh Challenge provides participants an idea of what it is like for millions of Americans that work paycheck to paycheck to provide for themselves and their families.
The challenge started in 2007 when four members of Congress decided to live on an average food stamp budget for one week to raise awareness and understanding of what challenges many people face on a daily basis while receiving CalFresh benefits. Every month an estimated 300,000 San Diego County residents rely on CalFresh to get enough healthy food. Of the CalFresh recipients in San Diego County, nearly 46% are children.
Here are the rules:
1. Budget: Each person has a total budget of $34.31 to be spent on food and beverages for the week (that’s about $4.90 per day).
2. What’s included in the budget: All food purchased and eaten during the Challenge week, including fast food and dining out, must be included in the total spending.
3. Food at home: During the Challenge, only eat food that you purchase for the project. Do not eat food that you already own (this does not include spices and condiments).
4. Social situations with food: Avoid accepting free food from friends, family, or at work, including receptions or social events.
5. Share your experience with us: Document your experience throughout the week using a blog or daily journal to track how you approached the Challenge and share your stories and recipes.

Prepare and plan because getting a nutritious meal plan for your family on less then five dollars a day takes skill.

#CalFreshChallenge Day 1. Took hours to plan menu & shopping list that didn't exceed avg weekly benefit of $30.67.

The concept of hunger includes a parent who skips meals, a senior citizen that has to choose between the purchase of his medication or next meal, or even someone who is compelled to choose less expensive and less healthy options, such as processed foods versus whole grains. As far as hunger is concerned in San Diego County, more than 446,000 people live under the poverty line, which in this case means household incomes that bring in less than $22,350 each year for a family of four.

Usually when someone says "SEO," people think of Google. Yet there are many other websites using proprietary search engines other than Google. One company that comes to mind is Amazon. Home to over 200 million diversified products across all sectors of the resale and wholesale markets, Amazon has become an online retail monster. What makes Amazon even more favorable than Google is that the majority of people who go to Amazon are buyers. They aren’t there to do research or lookup some fact. They have a product in mind and are ready to purchase. While it's obvious how powerful Amazon SEO can be in increasing one’s business, Amazon and its algorithm are relatively unknown. Amazon’s definition of success isn’t to send traffic to other sites, but to find the product that will provide the best sales conversion. It is this fundamental difference between the two search engines that you cannot just apply the same tactics we’re used to in optimizing for Google, Yahoo or even Bing. You will be hard pressed to find any piece of Amazon’s website that has not been properly formatted and optimized to not only return relevant fast searches, but also with the ability to turn that information into revenue. With that being said you can type almost any product known to man in any other search engine followed by the word Amazon it it will bring you right to the top seller of that product on Amazon right within Google, Yahoo, or Bing.

Jetblue and Amazon have partnered together to create a points campaign riding the #DealsinTheirPrime. Not only does Jetblue have an excellent reputation for customer service and satisfaction so does Amazon Prime. By making purchases through a unique link for Prime members through your Jetblue account, you can get 3x points on all your Amazon purchases as travel points on the JetBlues rewards program. I have found myself buying more and more through this link because I already use both companies. So Amazon gains more business, and I am planning to put those new-found points to good use on Jetblue. Their unique hashtag Deals in Their Prime makes use of Amazon's unparalleled customer service and satisfaction rating and transfers it directly to Jetblue. I think the campaign will work ideal for both partners.

Ambivalent Net-worker is the digital lifestyle that encompasses me most. I connect with friends and family often through various social outlets online. I also work in the Information Technology field so staying connected with clients and businesses is a daily occurrence. When enjoying time with my family I like to turn the technology off. We enjoy an active lifestyle and enjoy going snowboarding, taking hikes, and traveling. I think that technology has its place and makes many things more convenient but you need to be able to disconnect and enjoy the real world as well.
