25.02.2011 ⏳ today's timeline

idk if theres like canon pmmm lore abt it somewhere in an interview madokaheads lmk but i like to think their magical girl forms as being manifestions of their idealised selves while also reflecting certain facets of their psych. which could explain impracticality in battle attire like idk. homuras stiletto heels. sorry i know i knoww its magic its the genre shes a support not dps char their bodies feel less pain re their soul gems etc etc but whenever i watched homuras magical girl training montage i just thought abt how much it must hurt running on those lmao that being said id like to think their magical girl forms Can change like with shifting values or convictions but usually not very noticeably and only with small differences when they do due to their short lifespans. id imagine their forms just becoming dimmer/desaturated maybe with minisculely corrupted design elements like slightly warped motifs/off pattern details before they fall into despair to reflect disillusionment in the ideals and beliefs that manifested them originally. or maybe missing details to show how they dont remember what theyr fighting for. but id imagine them to look just slightly off like theyr barely holding it together before they burst and hatch into witches (itd be very cool to think of rare instances where magical girls hav complete upheavals in their belief systems and narrowly avoid becoming witches to manifest completely different forms instead. still itd just an intermittent form before the inevitable) but in homuras case since shes been a magical girl for around 100 loops i wanted to design a form that could reflect her psych after repeating a decade of adolescent trauma taking aspects of her original manifestation and fracturing, repeating, layering them to the point where it looks like its about to collapse in on itself before crystalising. she has much longer hair to convey how subconsciously she feels like she should be aging. longer sleeves that swallow her hands like clothes she shouldv grown into by now. two bows, the black one of her original length to represent the withered innocence of her wish and the shadow of her despair while its strangled by the bow of her original purple that stubbornly sits on top and stretches past it. added fingerless tactical gloves for her significantly accumulated knowledge in mechanical and explosive weaponry. i wanted to make her outfit giv off more of a witchy vibe too. shrug initially i drew her 1st version with nothing changed from her canon design besides braiding her 2 side bangs and i drew the wider heel on her 10th loop version but i rly wanted to do the diamond heel for her final one and the progression of her heel becoming sharper just made more visual sense if i switched it lol oh also i liked drawing her bangs shadowing so much of her eyes but i thought itd b fun to draw more of her eyes showing to symbolise how she metaphorically can see more clearly now. nothing about her physical non magical girl form changed but i think if homura can use her time magic to heal her eyes she can also use it to idk freeze her hair in a certain position so it doesnt get in the way instead of a haircut ghjfgdfgd anyway its fun for me to imagine her not noticing with how focused she is on saving madoka until one day she sees her reflection and is taken aback at how unrecognisable shes become to herself even while her actual body remains unchanged

Basically I wanted to make a connection between Citlali and spiders through dreamcatchers, because she's a shaman of the Night-Wind Masters so she must be pretty skilled in walking in dreams and weaving the night like a web. Also y'know, dreamcatchers look like pretty magical spiderwebs. Hence the web net on her skirt.

you Know the exact plot of Hirano getting in Kagiura's bed can happen so easily. Firsties get bottom bunk, seniors get single bed. idk. this does mean they have One (1) year all together

the thing is Ichinose sees what's happening First but also Last because he Does Not Think He's Involved. Hirano's canon (from the chart in the vol 4 extras) first impression of Ichinose was that he's a guy who doesn't stick his nose in other people's business and he is NAWT touching the obvious feelings his roommates have for each other. nevermind that Hirano and Kagiura also find HIM super comfortable to be around and always include him and if cuddling with him is the only time Kagiura and Hirano can stop getting all riled up (it is lights out hours!!) well then Ichinose will watch One (1) video with them before bed okay (and if it helps Ichinose go to bed at a resonable hour that clearly has nothing to do with Kagiura's big, sad eyes) (it doesn't work they stay up late talking half the time) (or he'll start going "one more video" until hirano snatches his phone away)

hirano is still mother henning and ichinose is like :) it's so understandable that kagiura loves hirano with the way he spoils him. it's so cute watching hirano figure out how to be a good senpai, i hope he realizes there's Feelings here soon too.

but ichinose is not exempt from Kagiura standing up at Dinner Hour On the Dot and going "study break!!!! food!!!!" and he'll say "you guys go ahead i'll go down in a bit" and maybe they trust him the first time but then he Doesn't eat and kagiura's horror at that spurs hirano to awkwardly like. "ichinose-san, you do need to eat..." and it's this weird thing because for their first year rooming together they had this Respectable Distance and didn't interfere with each other but also yes they did. Ichinose stood up for Hirano having dyed hair and piercings. Hirano sent help when Ichinose was sick. and Hirano is So aware of that senpai/kouhai dynamic 'cause that's what he's working with at first, trying to figure out how to make Kagiura feel as comfortable as ichinose (and mystery third roommate? don't worry about it) did, but there's this slow creep of Taking Care of Him. even if that means bullying him. kagiura's shamelessness and big puppy eyes are so effective. and ichinose is like shit shit they got me 'cause he can Not say no to his roommates ever. (harusono-sensei's S/M chart rears its head, ichinose is weak to being bullied and hirano AND kagiura realize they CAN bully ichinose into healthier habits oh no) (also. look. they can both pick him up. easily. ichinose voice when did both of you get so tall wtf) (his noodle arms are not helping his I'm Totally Fine and Healthy Guys I Swear argument)

We’ve got a message for Democratic lawmakers who co-sponsor censorship bills and collaborate with Trump’s fascist agenda: we won’t let you rest until you stop doing their dirty work. Today, a billboard truck is circling Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal’s office in downtown Hartford, calling him out for reintroducing censorship bill KOSA1 and betraying his queer and trans constituents— and we paid for it. It wasn’t in our budget, but someone had to draw a line in the sand this Pride Month, and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Can you help cover the $1,925 it cost to demand Dems like Blumenthal stop helping Trump carry out his queerphobic censorship fantasies?

The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) would give Trump’s FTC full power to censor online free speech and block young people from accessing life-saving information and community online.2 It’s a censorship bill couched in “child safety” that proponents and enforcers like Senator Marsha Blackburn,3 Elon Musk,4 and FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson5 would proudly use to “fight back against the trans agenda” and any topic they don’t approve of. Abortion care access, political speech, and LGBTQ+ content are all on the line.

Blumenthal’s cooperation with this ghoulish bill, especially during Trump’s escalating crackdowns on marginalized communities, is unconscionable. We’ve tried everything: hundreds of thousands of young people have sent letters to Congress,2 hundreds more parents of trans kids penned a letter begging lawmakers not to pass this dangerous bill,6 we’ve written op-eds,7 met with offices, and still, Blumenthal is choosing the wrong side of history. So we took it to Blumenthal's doorstep and made him face the reality of his choices head-on.
