Huh. You know what’s sort of interesting that I didn’t notice til now (shush I’m slow)? Ultra Magnus can be seen wearing the Autobot symbol (sometimes at least.. Consistency am I right?), yet Minimus Ambus is never once shown having any sort of brand on him (and yet people sometimes draw him with it? Weird). So that made me wonder… Did Minimus consider himself an Autobot or was he like.. unbiased? He was more dedicated to the law than anything and the Ultra Magnus armor had the brands because it makes sense that it would since he was an Autobot before he, you know kicked the bucket. 

It would make sense I guess that Minimus would be unbiased I guess? Considering he did befriend Megatron of all mechs. He didn’t carry the law out against Decepticons solely, but towards everyone. He did it fairly though and didn’t hold any prejudgement against anyone or I mean, at least this what I feel and have gathered since reading the comics. He wasn’t fond of Prowl because of these reasons because Prowl just straight up hated Decepticons and wasn’t even willing to give them trials half of the time whereas Ultra Magnus / Minimus Ambus was (and this is why he’s a better law enforcer in my eyes… Sorry, but not sorry Prowl).

I mean, am I like.. wrong or am I on to something here? I don’t know. This was just something I noticed and once again, I’m up early so my brain is going all over the place as it usually tends to do.

The fact that like.. if Minimus was to ever shift to his turbofox alt and then shift out of it, he would still have features remaining like claws, ears, fangs and a tail is… yes. I want it. This would happen because he’s not used to transforming into that form. The added features would eventually go away, of course, they’re not going to stay forever, but he would have them for a good long while and essentially… hate it. Mainly because he doesn’t like that form of his. He feels it makes him useless (which before the war was the main reason why besides others knowing he was Dominus Ambus’ brother he got denied some jobs) and he doesn’t think he’s.. cute or anything in that form.

Someone needs to show him or tell him that he’s beautiful, no matter what form he takes. Even with the added features.

Turbofoxes Paws All of this is headcanon, so don’t take it too seriusly if you dont like.

TurboFoxes are said to be the fastest in Cybertronian fauna, so I give some extra gears to bend and run comfortably on any type of surface. Also (and I’m gonna said this cuz Dominus Ambus is a spy) their beans are very useful due gives them a soft and silent step to the ground to surprise their prey and kill fast or avoid fights and scape without make any sound.

Funny little tidbit I like to throw out, but my Minimus does know Primal Vernacular. He makes it a habit to know as many languages as he can since he’s a law enforcer and wants to be able to translate not only the laws of other races but be able to translate the laws of the Cybertronians to said other races.. if that makes sense. So he knows quite a few languages. I listed some here this one time, but just felt like randomly sharing again.

i guess it���s really easy to overlook minimus’ canon OCD, considering i never see it involved in any of the fanfics i read

which, fair, one might argue that the OCD just isn’t there… when it is.

often, we view OCD as a gag disorder. depression and anxiety are taken more seriously, but OCD is relegated to a role of “haha things out of order makes me upset!” OCD isn’t just organizing things bc it looks nice. it’s a disorder fixated on control and security taken to extremes. an extreme need for security manifests primarily as intrusive thoughts, control manifests as extreme guilt and hoarding, and the two together manifest as the obsessions, compulsions

and we see that in minimus, just subtle. ish. because it’s very blatant if you understand OCD. stickler for rules (because rules keep people safe), never relaxing and never having fun (because that’s a distraction from maintaining safety), the order and cleanliness hyperfixation, the reluctance to be outside of his armor (because, let’s be fair, you can’t protect that well if you’re a minibot), the extreme guilt and blaming himself if something goes wrong (see MTMTE 50, “it’s my fault we’re going to die, i let my guard down”)

tldr minimus has very obvious and serious OCD and id like for this to be addressed more outside of jokes

Shattered Memo of the Day

We could focus on the fact everyone major seems to know about the Armor, but that isn’t the point.

Minimus Ambus STEPPED DOWN.

This scene heralds his return as Magnus, but it also makes clear that for some reason, he stopped. But we have no clue yet as to why… Or why he agreed to return.

Now, why he agreed to return was probably Tyrest doing his equivalent of begging. But lets move on from the obvious.

The first major thing I can think of for a step down is Minimus’s biggest problem: his inferiority complex. Dominus was always better, and everyone thought Minimus was him… And Minimus was not allowed a chance to make a name for himself until recently, which was years after this. Maybe something similar happened with the Magnus Armor. Maybe subconsciously, Minimus felt being Magnus still wasn’t breaking him free. He had simply turned from “Dominus” to “Magnus”. And then he simply had enough, so thus left. Tyrest probably did have to “beg”, but probably point out his success rate too as Magnus, to convince him to return.

The second, less likely option, is that the person who died was a personal friend of Minimus’s. Said person (blanking on name), wanted to be Magnus so bad, Minimus stepped down to give him a chance. Then when he died, Minimus either felt guilty for his death, or decided to honor his friend’s memory, and step back up.

Or or could be combinations of these brewing or others, to be honest, but these are the ones I can see.

It should probably come as no surprise that Minimus has a soft spot for children and is probably the only time where he freely and willingly allows himself to be vulnerable around them. He knows they won’t judge him, because after all they are just children… They just need to be looked after. They know nothing of him and that’s fine with him in this moment. He talks to them just as any one else really, but his voice is much more softer and gentler then usual. He will also refrain from using too much vocabulary that may be hard to understand, but he’s not going to necessarily dumb now his vocabulary either. He wants them to learn and if they ask questions, he’ll be more then happy to teach them to the best of his knowledge. In a matter of speaking, he does feel a little more at ease around children then he does with adults.. mostly because he’s always on guard and trying to hide away when with them, but with children, he doesn’t really have to do that. They don’t know him for the most part, so he doesn’t have to do that. He can.. be himself and they seem to like him which is a tremendous weight of his shoulders.

Of course he does have a tendency to be a little overprotective and will want to overlook everything of which they are doing (in the case with Gala), but he means well.. He does. He just don’t want anyone to get hurt due to his carelessness. That’s all ready happened before and he doesn’t want to make the same mistake again especially with someone so young and fragile…

Minimus doesn’t really make much noises. Most of the time, they usually come out when he becomes extremely flustered or something like that. For example, he’ll wheeze or if he’s speaking, he’s sometimes stutter, which is rare so if you hear him stuttering, that’s a sign you got him going. If he starts to get worst, he can’t finish sentences properly and will straight off just make weird noises like, “Well h-h-how dare you! It’s n-not as if I w-want to hnm..hnngh!” and such. He’ll also make ‘tut tut’ noises or sometimes scoff, clicks his glossa and the likes.

There are rumors that he purrs and growls, but.. you didn’t hear that from me. Nope.

Can’t believe I’ve yet to post it, but: Ultra Magnus’ official alt mode, courtesy of Milne! I felt the original lines were a bit faded, so I’ve elected to reinforce what I think is part of the alt mode design. Featuring other times where his alt mode has made an appearance.

This exchange has been haunting me since I’ve seen it.

“This is a recharge socket.” “It is? Of course it is. Good. Excellent.”

It’s just been stuck in my brain because… shouldn’t Minimus know what a recharge socket is…? The repeated ‘good. excellent’ sounds verrry dismissive of his own question, like something you’d do after being corrected when you say the wrong information.

Is this a joke towards the fact that he works so much that he might be falling behind on sleep? So much so that he doesn’t know what a recharge socket is anymore?

Does the Magnus Armor function as its own recharge station? I kinda doubt that one b/c Minimus DOES exist out of the armor.

Another theory is this: Loadbearers don’t need sleep. It sort of makes sense considering that loadbearers have sparks that have high outputs of energy (resulting in their increased strength and loadbearing abilities). I would really like some feedback on this headcanon that I am slowly sinking myself into.

…Does keeping various poems count? Honestly though, Minimus doesn’t strike me as the sort to have such things or at least, a big collection. He does keep things such as objects or trinkets he’s obtained in his travels to Earth and various other places. He still has all the figures Ten made him, so really.. anything that has a memory attached to it in a sense he’ll keep. He’s.. secretly sentimental like that.

If I’m understanding this correctly… Injustice. Seriously though, Minimus can’t stand for it and frankly, won’t. You’re doing something wrong, he’s going to call you out on it. Even it puts him in danger or essentially makes him look ultra strict. That is essentially why he became an Enforcer because he wanted to help others, do the right thing and stand against the corruption the Senate was. He doesn’t agree with how it transpired of course (you know.. the war), but in a sense, it got things to stop or at least, things are rolling towards a better outcome. Slowly, but surely. He would have preferred if countless lives weren’t taken of course, but that’s sadly the outcome of war sometimes…
