amy paused as she looked at the other for a moment “no i’m sorry - is that a new suburb of washington?” the blonde questioned, scrunching her nose at the thought. “and as for horses, there is a stable on the outskirts of the city - though there mostly for short journey’s or trail rides.” she admitted, shrugging. “i can show you how to drive one of these steel things if you’d like?” 

        “  not  quite,  m’lady,  winterfell  is  the  family  seat  of  the  warden  of  the  north  and  my  family  home.  i  don’t  think  it  is  on  the  same  land  as  this.  ”  the  smile  upon  his  face  appeared  amused  with  an  attempt  at  remaining  respectful  enough  to  not  laugh,  he  didn’t  want  her  to  think  he  was  directly  laughing  at  her  after  all.  “  you  can  drive  on  of  those?  i  am  impressed,  they  appear  to  be  quite  dangerous  and  must  take  a  great  deal  of  skill.  ”

she was a bit hesitant to reveal anything. he’d claimed it to be his home, but he could easily be lying, and letting an enemy know that the king of the north was alive and well could be dangerous. she had no idea who had taken winterfell after his death, if the greyjoys had continued to hold it, if the lannisters had taken over, or if the starks had managed to return to their home finally. “my husband lived there once, long ago.” that was hopefully vague enough that he would reveal his own history with the place before she had to elaborate.

        “  if  it  was  your  husband’s  home  then  it  is  just  as  good  as  yours  too,  m’lady.  ”  he  said  with  a  respectful  bow  of  his  head,  curious  as  to  who  her  husband  might  be  but  not  wishing  to  push.  if  she  hadn’t  given  the  information  away  freely  then  she  may  not  wish  to  give  it  at  all,  especially  not  to  a  complete  stranger.  “  i  am  brandon  of  house  stark,  it  is  a  pleasure  to  meet  someone  here  who  is  familiar  with  my  home.  you  are  of  westeros  yourself?  you  are  the  first  person  i  have  met  here  with  any  knowledge  of  winterfell  at  all.  ”

(¸.• ♛ → she stopped her tracks when someone called her and looked at the guy that was there. “i have no idea where that is.” she admitted. “but…well, i don’t know where you can find a horse, i’m sorry.” maybe he was a vampire? no, he doesn’t seem like one but he seems like he’s not from this time. “you’ve never seen a car? we use that to transport ourselves.”

        “  a  car?  ”  brandon  asked  with  a  a  slight  frown,  glancing  to  strange  mode  of  transport  before  returning to  look  upon the  person  who  had  kindly  stopped  at  his  request.  “  is  that  what  you  call  the  thing  with  wheels?  but  how  can  they  move  without  anything  pulling  it?  ”

He nearly dropped his things when he heard the name the other man had uttered. A name he had not heard in years and years. It was a name that would forever fill his heart with pain, frustration and grief. At the end of the day he had been the last Wolf of the Stark litter. The last of the children of Rickard Stark. And here he was face to face with someone he never thought he would see again. “There is only one Benjen Stark and that is me” he muttered as he clasped his hands and straightened his back. “But I am not a child anymore, Brandon. I am a grown man with a heavy heart”

        it  couldn’t  be  and  brandon  almost  refused  to  believe  it,  benjen  had  been  barely  into  his  prime  when  the  elder  stark  and  their  father  lost  their  lives  and  now  he  was  to  believe  that  the  youngest  brother  stood  before  him  as  a  man  grown?  it  was  difficult  to  believe  and  yet  the  hope  in  his  heart  -  the  hope  to  believe  that  he  had  truly  found  benjen  -  was  stronger  than  any  amount  of  disbelief.  without  saying  anything  else  brandon  stepped  forward  and  embraced  benjen  tightly,  holding  him  as  if  no  time  had  passed  at  all.  “  you  are  benjen,  my  little  brother  grown  older  than  i  ...  that’s  not  supposed  to  be  how  it  is.  it  shouldn’t  have  happened  this  way.  I’m  sorry.  i’m  SO  sorry.  ”

she could feel her breath catch in her throat at the sight of her friend - she couldn’t quite believe her eyes and thought at first that she might be dreaming. elia had been one of the many casualties that had been caused by the events of the tourney at harrenhal. “elia-” a small sob bubbled through her throat as she ran to her friend, dropping her bags at their feet as she wrapped her arms tightly around the other woman. not caring if any items spilled out onto the street. “you’re here,” out of all of the people she had wished to see in the city, elia had been one of the ones she wanted here the most. 

        the  sight  of  ashara  was  the  most  comforting  that  elia  could  even  imagine,  a  feeling  which  was  amplified  ten  fold  once  she  was  able  to  wrap  her  arms  around  her  dear  friend  and  let  out  a  sound  which  was  a  mix  between  a  laugh  and  a  sob.  “  oh  my  dearest  friend,  i  am.  we  are  here  together!  ”  elia  enjoyed  the  moment  to  hold  onto  ashara  a  little  longer  before  she  leaned  back,  gently  touching  her  palms  upon  her  friends  cheeks  before  she  looked  upon  her  as  if  checking  if  she  were  unharmed  or  at  least  alive.  “  are  you  well?  i  cannot  believe  this!  were  you  safe?  please  tell  me  you  made  it  to  starfall.  ”

        “  abu  !!  ”  in  a  scolding  but  hushed  tone  aladdin  called  to  the  small  monkey  who  was  about  to  dip  his  fingers  into  the  stranger’s  pocket,  startling  him  into  scrambling  back  to  sit  upon  aladdin’s  shoulder.  “  hey  -  i’m  sorry  about  him,  he  didn’t  mean  any  harm.  ”

        “  if  you  had  three  wishes  ...  ”  though  he  had  no  real  (  or  human  )  friends  in  agrabah  he  began  to  find  life  in  washington  to  be  really  isolating,  almost  too  isolating,  so  he  felt  he  had  nothing  to  lose  in  addressing  someone  completely  randomly.  “  what  would  they  be?  ”

“A horse?” Lavinia asked and looked at the other man with wide eyes and a small confused smile on her lips. Now she had heard many odd things during the couple of hours she had been in this town but this? Now this was one of the oddest. “In the middle of town?” clasping her hands and tilting her head to the side, the red haired woman then let out a soft chuckle. “Oh I am sorry.. I am so sorry I shouldn’t be laughing”

        “  yes,  a  horse  ...  ”  confusion  painted  upon  brandon’s  features  as  he  looked  at  the  other  person,  confusion  turning  quickly  into  a  frown  as  she  chuckled  and  he  failed  to  see  what  about  his  request  was  so  funny.  he  truly  was  completely  oblivious.  “  is  that  such  a  strange  request?  there  is  no  better  way  to  travel.  ”

        “  can  you  believe  those  small  objects  allow  you  to  speak  to  anyone  you  wish?  no  matter  how  near  or  far.  ”  elia  commented  as  she  watched  someone,  deep  in  conversation  on  their  phone,  pass  by  with  amazement  in  her  eyes.  “  do  you  think  they  can  contact  anyone?  i  would  so  love  to  find  my  children  or  my  family.  ”

“it’s alright.” she replied, shrugging off the mans apology. she wasn’t much bothered by awkward situations like that anymore, but being recognized as an avenger put her just slightly on edge. the entire thing with the avengers right now was not something she wanted to think about, with steve unaware and everything else so complicated. “that’s me, but i’m not an avenger.”

        “  no?  you  work  pretty  well  with  them  from  what  i’ve  seen  regardless.  ”  as  someone  who  didn’t  dive  too  deeply  into  the  news  as  of  late,  particularly  since  he  became  moon  knight  and  had  bigger  priorities,  he  could  recall  hearing  of  some  things  with  wanda  that  had  caused  a  stir  since  the  avengers  had  seemingly  disbanded  but  he  knew  it  wasn’t  his  place  to  speak  on  them.  if  anyone  could  understand  the  effects  of  grief  it  was  marc.  “  i  know  things  have  been  crazy  -  with  the  blip  and  all  -  but  i  always  admired  you  the  most.  you’re  really  strong  even  after  everything  and  i’m  really  sorry  for  your  losses.  ”

(¸.• ♛ → a museum, edward recommended her to go to one so here she is, she wanted just a distraction so this could be perfect. however, before she could do anything else like watch another exhibition, she heard a voice so she just looked at the man talking now to her. “yeah, i’ve seen that one, if you go straight from here and then go to the right you might find that exhibit.” she commented. 

        “  yeah?  doesn’t  sound  too  difficult.  ”  marc  glanced  into  the  direction  that  she  had  suggested  he  take,  trying  to  lean  to  see  if  he  could  see  the  right  turn  from  where  he  stood  before  bringing  his  attention  back  to  the  kind  stranger.  “  was  it  any  good?  i  don’t  suppose  you  remember  if  you  saw  anything  about  a  god  with  a  bird  for  a  head?  ”

Loki kept a close eye on the other man. Something was definitely off about this other. Loki could sense some sort of magic on him, old magic. Different to his but about the same age. Diluted power though in the other. Not as pure as Loki’s. “Not my proudest moment but would be lying if I said it wasn’t a little bit fun.” A little chuckle left the Norse God. The shine of mischief in his eyes. At this moment in time he was doing his best to behave. “The one and only.” The smirk remaining on his face. “It passes the time and who better to tell people about Norse Mythology than the Norse God Of Mischief himself?” He did enjoy talking about himself and his abilities. “Who are you?” He was curious about the other’s power coming from him. 

        the  smugness  of  loki  at  the  mention  of  new  york  irritated  marc  beyond  belief  but  his  expression  remained  neutral,  he  knew  better  than  to  go  picking  a  fight  with  anymore  gods  so  soon,  but  he  also  couldn’t  say  that  he  was  surprised.  what  else  could  be  expected  from  the  literal  god  of  mischief?  “  suppose  you  have  a  point,  might  as  well  put  your  knowledge  to  use.  name’s  marc,  -  ”  before  he  could  continue  to  say  anything  else  there  was  a  slight  shift  in  his  expression,  his  eyes  appeared  slightly  wider  and  where  he  previously  looked  annoyed  at  the  interaction  he  appeared  almost  excited.  the  most  noticeable  of  changes  came  when  he  next  opened  his  mouth  to  speak,  the  slightly  over  the  top  london  accent  of  steven  coming  out  where  marc’s  chicago  accent  had  just  been.  “  and  i’m  steven  grant.  i  work  in  a  museum  too  but  back  in  london,  gift  shop  that  is  but  i’ve  always  wanted  to  be  a  guide.  bloody  brilliant  to  meet  you,  mr  loki,  believe  it  or  not  you’re  the  second  god  i’ve  met  in  as  many  months.  khonsu,  egyptian  god  of  the  moon  -  you   know  him? ”

        elia  was  not  one  who  would  seek  to  speak  out  of  turn,  especially  not  without  certainty  that  the  person  she  was  addressing  was  who  she  believed  to  be,  but  since  arriving  in  washington  the  princess  had  been  so  desperate  for  familiarity  in  others  in  the  city  that  she  jumped  at  the  opportunity.  in  passing  she  knew  she  had  recognised  his  face,  particularly  after  the  events  at  harrenhal,  so  she  paused  in  his  path  without  thinking  too  far  into  the  interruption.  “  my  lord  -  forgive  me  -  are  you  eddard  stark?  ”

        “  it’s  such  a  beautiful  place,  isn’t  it?  ”  elia  mused  from  the  bench  where  she  sat,  enjoying  the  outdoors  as  she  usually  did,  finding  comfort  in  being  in  the  fresh  air  as  opposed  to  being  cooped  up  inside  and  surrounded  by  new  and  strange  technology.  “  though  much  different  from  my  home,  westeros  has  never  known  such  inventions,  i cannot  help  but  be  somewhat  envious  of  those  who  are  used  to  being  here.  are  you  one  of  those  who  call  washington  home?   ”

“what the hell,” jane muttered as she looked around - she hadn’t been in washington dc before, she couldn’t actually remember what had happened or how she’d wound up in this situation. “I’ve seen some crazy things before, but being brought to a city without knowing, that has to be top of the list crazy,”

        “  hey,  you  ok?  ”  marc  knew  that  look  all  too  well  as  he  was  still  trying  to  figure  out  how  he  came  to  be  here  also,  but  she  was  the  first  he  was  finding  that  it  had  happened  to  in  real  time  and  they  hadn’t  been  here  for  a  while  already.  “  yeah,  the  same  happened  to  me  and  i  think  most  other  people  here.  what  kind  of  crazy  things  are  we  talking  here?  because  this  is  pretty  weird.  ”
