STRICT LOCKDOWN AFTER ILLEGAL CELEBRATION GONE WRONG, LARGE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE STUCK IN AKUMU SLUMS

𝐔𝐍𝐍 (𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤) - April, 𝟐𝟒𝟎𝟓

New Jakarta, Mars – it's the fifth year after the disappearance of street racer MANIC that the AKUMU SLUMS are celebrating their long-held dream of becoming independent. MANIC PANIC, as its known among those from the lowest levels of the city, is never on the same day, but like every year before it seems that the OVERSEERS have ramped up their presence in the neighbourhood at the right time.

What was supposed to be a festive celebration, an attempt to make positive what anyone from the outside would see as negative, quickly turned dark after a masked group stopped the races.

The OVERSEERS were there in large numbers, but still the decision was reached to put a lock down on the AKUMU SLUMS, despite the large crowds. It is being reported that members of all the cities gangs are present, and communication networks are having trouble carrying the large quanties of messages. We've received notifications that there have been injuries, but nothing sustantial and nothing verified.

SIDENOTE:

All characters are present at this celebration, whether invited - MANIC PANIC, while illegal, is a big deal to both gangs, rebels, and people of influence -, on the job, or simply visiting. The celebration revolves mostly around street races, but there are raves, vendors, markets, and so forth. Street Racers themselves are personally protected by both the gangs they belong to and the common people. OVERSEERS are generally disliked but more often avoided during the celebrations because they travel in large quantities.

The chaos that follows the stopping of the races has people left and right fleeing and attempting to get through the blockade - unsuccessfully.

This is the start of the first MAIN EVENT! Several updates will follow in the weeks to come, but for now you're free to partake in the festival and the chaos that is ensured. For now at most there are injuries, either from the crowds pushing, people fighting, or the OVERSEERS stepping in. Most of all, HAVE FUN!
