"Don't make me kill you."
At his worst, spurred by the dark side, his head filled with lies of betrayal, and he still offers Obi-Wan an out. This is him demanding a surrender, seeking an alternative path. This is the nature of his love, twisted as it has become. This is his mercy.
And again.
"You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker, I did."
Not to gloat. To assuage. To take on the blame so Obi-Wan doesn't. Even at his worst, he still loves deeply. He never stopped caring. Not once.
He is capable of enacting violence and it cuts him the same. He accepts pain as part of life, but he never enjoys it. He is not sadistic; he does not torture for fun. He kills with purpose, and makes jokes about it, the way he got through the Clone Wars. Humor softens the blow and he grants a quick death.
Anyway don't know what this post is about exactly. Just Vaderkin stuff.

// Anakin walks into a room to find his loved ones sitting quietly and the first thing he says is, “Is everything alright?”
Just thinking about how hyper vigilant he is.

6. Is there a character that the rest of your fandom adores that you just don’t like/are indifferent to? Who is the character and why?
7. List three honest flaws your favorite character has and talk about how those flaws make them problematic.
8. Out of the really popular pairings in your fandom, what’s your nOTP?
6. TBH I feel like I could love every character. It wouldn't be fair to say I am indifferent to the ones I haven't really seen. i admit, my star wars bubble is very limited to Anakin's journey because that's already a crap load of stuff to remember. xD I even like the sequels characters, even though I have only seen the first one. The actors are just too good.
7. (Anakin disliked that.)
Anakin doesn't think enough before he acts.
He kind of believes he is invincible.
And he thinks he has some divine right to do whatever he wants.
His instincts are very accurate maybe 90% of the time, but that 10% matters and he doesn't account for the fact that his instincts are not totally infallible. It's a failing of the Jedi teachings as well, because I think this ties into the principle of having a strong mind; do or do not, there is no try. So Anakin decides he will bend reality to his will, because he is just built different.
Of course this is a problem, because he is not a god (but he thinks he should be tbh, and maybe he's right? but it's still problematic.)
This is how he is eventually able to come to the conclusion that fulfilling his "destiny" means committing atrocities is fine if it's in the name of the greater good, and again, this is partly learned from the Jedi.
8. NOTP!!! Honestly, Obikin when it's done sloppily ... But not overall. I'm too much of a shipping whore at heart to have a real non negotiable.

what creature lives in your soul?
vampire.
you have locked yourself in from the sun, too afraid to face the light... too afraid of what it may illuminate about yourself.

What kind of nonsense is this? Put me on the council and not make me a master? It’s never been done in the history of the Jedi. It’s insulting. STAR WARS: EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH (2005)

Jedi legally can take children unwillingly from their guardians if they deem it best for the child or even for society at large ...
So say they find a child in neglected circumstances... They can and maybe should kidnap them.
#musings#word building#legally the jedi are allowed to kidnap babies#just an interesting bit of lore idk#i think it's very interesting to consider the possibilities for this to go right as well as wrong#the system is ... something.#discussion
