Some more assorted Gabias headcanons/thoughts:
Gabin works up a lot of nerve to say "I love you", and Tobias is like casually "yeah, I love you too", because his feelings feel so obvious to him, that he just thought he had already said it, multiple times.
Generally, Tobias says romantic things in very casual, off-offhandedly ways, like it's just super obvious. "Loving you is very easy", "I hate it when you're not there", "there's no one like you".
Gabin introduces Tobias to boxing and when Tobias is feeling frustrated he works through it by punching a bag - he does not like interacting with other boxers - while listening to his metal.
Tobias is a vegetarian, and Gabin freaks out about whether there are vegetarian options at the restaurant he frequents, and is a little mopey about not being able to share certain foods with Tobias.
When they've been apart for a while (or like, an hour), Gabin likes to say "I'm here" when they reunite.

I wonder if the critic that gave a bad review attended the new premiere. "Hm, I guess Tobias Bell is himself a disaster. Art is not subjective, he is right there though, my opinion is the correct one. Is that the guy who threw a rock through my window, even though now they are lying and said he didn't? Why is he giving a speech? Huh. Is that his process? Interesting... This is great, I think my review improved his work. That rock thrower is pretty talented, actually. Oh....the crazy people are kissing. And they are still at it... Well, maybe they will be too busy to attack my home again."

"One, two, three..." Tobias counted, the music started to soar, and Gabin practically flied cross the floor. Tobias looked on, with an admiring but critical eye. He took in every inch of Gabin during the minute or so. There was not much to critique on this run-through. When it stopped, Gabin looked at him, expectant. Still unable to quite react to moments like this all Tobias did was step forward, Gabin walking towards him in return. They easily fell into a kiss, arms comfortably resting on each other's shoulders. "Again" Tobias found himself murmuring, as the kiss ended. Gabin looked at him, slightly dazed. "Kiss or dance?" he asked. Tobias opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. He had no idea. There was the wider outer world, which he tried to avoid. There was his own private world, which he had lived in less than usual later. There was his dance world. And there were a few worlds with the people important to him, including his world with Gabin. A world that that had been intermingled with his dance world for longer than he realized. He had yet not managed to separate them or untangle them. Maybe it was impossible. Maybe he didn't want to. Gabin stepped back a little, smirking, it being easier for him to come back fully to the wider material world. He put his hands on Tobias's cheeks, and gave him a peck. "Dance, Tobias. We still need to work." he said, stepping back completely. Tobias wiggled a little, adjusted himself. "Yes. I don't think it works with the - " They both made the same moments with the hands. "No. I do it flawlessly, but it does not work flawlessly." "How about a -" "Yes, let's try it." "Ok." Tobias stepped back more, nodding his head. "1, 2, 3, again!"

So, as I think my posts show, there is A Lot of stuff that I love about Gabias. But I imprinted on them even before finishing the show. Because checking the tag, I saw posts both about the scene where Gabin killed the rat, and the scene where Gabin explains Tobias's process to the audience and how to accommodate the process/him, and thought, if someone did those things for me, I would propose on the spot.

"There are children here who've been turned into pheasants, slogs, even hot dogs" "Hot dogs?" "Yes, to trick Americans into eating their own children."
"She's not perfect, or normal, or anything that she's supposed to be. But she's all I've got."
Two lyrics, minutes apart, that gobsmacked me in two completely different ways. The second part gobsmacked me twice in different ways, even, the first line on its own, and the second line giving it another context. Dave Malloy and Lucy Kirkwood (and Roald Dahl), man.

Just thinking about how Tobias makes an effort to see, and appreciate Gabin, and how Gabin makes an effort to listen to, and understand, Tobias. Not perfectly, not always without some resistance, but yet. And how it's just what maybe both of them needed from others, and maybe needed to do for their own growth.

I can't believe we'll never get to see a scene where Tobias attemps to combine using a little French and making small talk and says "je suis excité for the new ballet!" and no one daring to tell him that "excité" can mean a... very specific type of excited in French.

When Tobias is told that Gabin danced it for him, and if he can't watch, he's alone...
When Gabin is told that there is this "person"...
How used are they to being told that their presence, they, really matters to someone? That they are essential to their art, to what they're both passionate about?

Again at rehearsal, Tobias and Gabin starts to move closer to each other after Gabin finishes a run, but they kiss this time. Then after, Tobias once more says "again", but when Gabin asks if he means the dance or the kiss, Tobias has no idea

Gabin, Cheyenne, and Tobias working together. Gabin and Cheyenne both trying to get Tobias' undivided attention, talking over each other, making suggestions, showing off moves, and Tobias offhandedly, without really meaning anything by it, saying "this is like Christmas with my cousins, except you're not 9". Cheyenne and Gabin stopping for a moment, feeling very abashed, only to the next moment be all "stop! no you stop! let me talk! no my idea is better!", and Tobias putting on his headphones, waiting for it to stop.
(Once they stop talking, Tobias draws up an 80% baked idea, and they all genuinely start working together in a chaotic but semi-professional manner.)
