Hi! I get to write a paper about The Outsiders and I'm actually really excited because it's part of my Comp 1302 class final. Would you give me your personal feelings about some of the underlying themes and symbolism of the story? I would like to incorporate other people's feelings about the message of the novel. It would mean a lot to me! :) thank you

Hi, I don't think I'm qualified to discuss this an "analysis-level" because I've never studied the novel?? I enjoyed the film and book, but I never consciously thought about what the themes and symbolism were. Though I think the biggest message you can get out of the story is the importance of friendship and family bonds. The Outsiders was a really emotional story for me, so I can't put my response into words, it was more like:
