i'm not saying people shouldn't be reading more books, but i do think it's funny how many people thinking "reading comprehension" is just about how good you are at reading books and not like. criticial thinking skills.

anyway you should always remember that all those foreigners you see dying on the news are just as real people as you are who have just as much interiority as you do. there is nothing about you that makes you more important and it is by pure chance that you are not in their position. in fact, this holds for all of history. every person, no matter the horror of the fate that befell them, had just as much interiority as you do. i feel like some people haven't fully internalized this.

yona of the dawn is an incredible series that does SO many tropes so well. there's fantasy, there's politics, there's iconic character development. it has one of the BEST slowburn romances along with one of the greatest found families i have ever read. yona, hak, shinah, kija, jaeha, zeno, and yoon beautifully written characters with their own dreams and personalities that make them come together to be the most beautiful group i have read. kusanagi created such a masterpiece, and i hope more people read it and fall in love with yona of the dawn!!!

One of my friends is a "crypto terf" (using the language of tras) bc she told me about how uncomfortable/confused with the language of gender ideology but she's afraid to say anything publically to not get dragged and I think it's very important that everyone (not just radfems) on the left to be open about why gender ideology is absolute nonsense and dangerous because most of the population probably agrees with you it's just that tras are the loudest

I hate when you make a legitimate criticism of something, like “hey you shouldn’t use the phrase ‘bitch slap’ especially as a punchline because it refers to pimping which is a form of sexual trafficking and it’s not cool to minimize women’s suffering like that” and some absolute knob will be like “wow, you must be fun at parties” like??? "Radical Feminism is rooted in white power, supremacy and privillege!"

Radical means root. The patriarchy/men are the root of women's oppression. All women, black, white, asian, mexican, indian, arabic etc, all female people are included in radical feminism. So many radical feminists, especially radfems of color have done so much for the liberation of women and young girls in other countries, and a good majority of the radical feminist community on radblr ARE women of color.

We can recognize structures of abuse and misogyny in white culture, but that that does not stop us from also calling it in other cultures as well. Men of color, GBT (gay bisexual and tims), disabled, poor and rich have their own ways of oppressing women. For example, the taliban in iran has kept young girls from receiving academic education. in various parts of africa girls undergo genital mutilation. speaking as a person of color, so many families of color- especially male dominated ones parentify young women and continue the cycle of abuse and misogyny that shapes how these girls interact with other men.
