Headcanon: Accent + English.

Because I reject Funimation making him sound like Gru. Viktor is fluent in 4 languages: Russian, his mother tongue, Japanese, French & English. Although his English is still a tad broken. He can use a Japanese accent well, & his French accent isn’t half bad either. However, he cannot do an “American accent.” We shall call it. So oftentimes, when he speaks English, you’ll hear his Russian accent shine through. It’s very noticeable as it’s incredibly thick & yes, it only gets worse when he’s excited. He was born & raised in Russia, so of course the accent is a bit hard for him to get rid of when there’s no set accent for speaking American English. An American accent can mean many different things as the nation has so many different accents depending on where you go. ( i.e, Northern vs. Southern. ) Because of this, Viktor finds it easier to just act ~Natural.~ I picture his accent sounding about like this when he speaks English, at least more than a word or two. I’m talking full blown sentences/conversations.
