Drop of Midnight's Tears
The clock hands stated
Start of a new day arrived
A little girl laying in her bed
Body limp in the sheet of her bed
Eyes staring at the ceiling above
The darkness engulf her space
As eyes won't stay close
And thousand questions she embrace
Memories she cherish the most
Keeping the little girl awake utmost
Tears gradually falling, from unseen her
Tears keeping her warm, lullaby her to slumber

SKK question time!
Do you guys think Chuuya knows why Dazai wears bandages? And do you think Mori knows? I’m gonna give my arguments for both sides here. Just a little reasons they would and reasons they wouldn’t.
Reasons Chuuya would: He was Dazais partner for 4 YEARS and they literally trust each other with their lives so it’s possible that Dazai has either told him or he’s seen his bandages get torn off in battle (Or things similar) Also isn’t the whole “Dazai breaks into Chuuya apartment and chills there” Thing true? I’m actually not sure about this one cause I’ve never read the manga or bungou wan so I am only going off of what other people have said but if it is true would’t it make sense that Chuuya has either been told why he wears them or has SEEN why he wears them? (Assuming he wears them to hide something) and even if he hasn’t seen/been told why he might have figured it out on his own after all it’s canon that Chuuya is the only one that knows what Dazai is thinking.
Reasons Chuuya wouldn’t: Dazai tries to keep people at an arms length especially people like Chuuya With him being loyal to Mori plus him being someone Dazai may not like very much (After looking at canon stuff I don’t think Dazai HATES Chuuya) I don’t know if Dazai would tell him.
Reasons Mori would: He saved Dazai from killing himself (That was how they met) So he may have seen under his bandages (Again assuming he’s hiding something) and it is my belief that Mori knows why Dazai wants to kill himself so I also think Mori might know why he wears bandages.
Reasons Mori wouldn’t: I don’t think I even have to explain this one much it’s simply: Dazai doesn’t like Mori so he doesn’t trust him.
Also I want to add that my theory on why Dazai wears bandages is that he was also a government test subject like Chuuya and so he has marking on his body that look similar to what No Longer Human looks like when he uses it. (Not to mention that just the NAME No Longer Human sounds like foreshadowing that maybe he’s like Chuuya in the whole “Not exactly human” Thing) Also if that is the reason then it makes sense that Chuuya would know cause that’s something thy would have in common.
Anyway I don’t know how to punctuate even though I’ve learned it like 3 different times I still don’t get it so sorry if this doesn’t make sense. ALSO I’m not proof reading this so there’s probably things I spelled wrong.
P.S. I’m not very good at putting my thoughts into words so there’s probably a lot I’m missing here but oh well.

spoiler for bsd beast
so I have a theory guys.
what about the au creating book being mentioned is actually part of dazai’s ability. like kunikida’s ability is useless without the specific notebook that craftman made for him, dazai can only use a part of his power without the book: nullifying other abilties which is actually only ment for cancelling out memoryloss between the book universes.
maybe dazai had the book in the beast novel from the beginning and in the manga au he lost it sometime before fifteen.
but dazai still knows about the different universes so he kinda doesn’t care what’s about to happen in his manga universe, aka to his live, until meeting oda.
I have this headcanon where whenever he touches that book his memories on what happens in those other worlds kinda update.
and in the manga au he still has to find that book, or it has to find him.
what do you think? are there unlogical gaps? it’s hard for me to comprehend all this info one has to collect from translated summaries not in ones language, and all this au stuff is complicated as so little about the circumstances are known ahhhhh.

BSD AU where Mori is Dazai’s father. Flashbacks happened when Dazai was around 6-7 years old.
HCs that I have for this AU:
Dazai’s mother is the Real Elise, whom Mori based his Ability on. The Real Elise was the Old Boss’ daughter, making Mori the Old Boss’ son-in-law, and Dazai his grandson.
Dazai was the designated heir of the Port Mafia, chosen by the Old Boss, but Mori and Elise had tried to keep Dazai away from the Old Boss.
The Real Elise died in a mafia territory war that the Old Boss started, protecting Dazai from a stray bullet. Mori came just right in time to see the Real Elise got shot.
Despite the promise he made, Mori ended up leaving Dazai, where then he got involved with the Great War (Yosano’s back story). As Dazai was left alone without adult protection, it became easy for the Old Boss to get his hands on Dazai.
Mori returned about six years later, when Dazai was thirteen, at the request of the Old Boss to treat his illness. Mori and Dazai’s relationship began to strain from then, mostly from Dazai’s part as he was hurt by the betrayal and abandonment after a traumatizing event. They planned the assassination of the Old Boss for a year.
Like in the strips above, after the assassination was completed, Dazai had decided that Mori wasn’t his father, not anymore after six years of abandonment. The past year did not help either, as Mori never tried to mend their relationship.
Mori immediately understood, and played along. To any of the new mafia members, they never showed any inclination that they were anything more than just two people who happened to know each other and have personalities almost like each other.
(Despite that, there were times when Mori showed that he cared for Dazai, or at the very least, cared for the last promise he made to the Real Elise. Whenever Dazai was heavily injured, whether by his own suicide attempted or his missions, Mori was the one who patched him up. Mori also actively tried to stop his suicide attempts, not only because Dazai was an important asset, it was also because of the promise he made.)
@dreaming-of-butterflies tHERE I DID IT!!! :D

The Day Everything Changes
[Read from Right to Left]
Is it obvious that my favourite trope is Dazai returning to the mafia mid series? Because, while I love Agency!Dazai, I want to see how Agency!Dazai handle returning to the mafia. Angst Material A++++
Though this comic ended up being more Atsushi centric…
And I love Mori, but he could be such a bastard at times XD

Based on this post by @irinyaclockworker, based on an AU made by @smolhoneybunz and Alex (awk Dazai’s admin) in the Awkward BSD server a few days ago!
So basically, ADA Spy! Chuuya and Port Mafia Spy! Dazai. They only found out about each other after Chuuya reached his breaking point, after being so deeo undercover for so long.
I forgot the blood on post corruption Chuuya… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How long will it last?
(Dazai has been having nightmares and has been hearing voices. The source comes to him.)
“You know… that mask you wear? It’s going to break soon.”
He whips his head to the source but finds only him standing in the middle of the Agency’s corridor.
“What with all the nightmares and sleepless nights, you ought to take my advice.”
Dazai frantically glances around to find the source. Even with his observation skills and keen eye, he couldnt detect any movement within the area.
His eyes finally rest at the window that displayed the traffic below.
That wasn’t the focus.
There he sees his reflection, smirking and wearing mafia black, although faint, Dazai sees it.
“What do you want?”
His reflection only laughs, mocking and cold.
“Heed my advice: You never belonged to the light.”
Dazai narrows his eyes and… slowly walks toward the window.
“Why would I believe you? You are only a reflection, a part of me, you are a part of my past.” Dazai presses on, making sure that not even a counterpart or reflection of him figure him out.
“Really now? You wake up drenched in sweat, from nightmares of carnage and screams, of Mori-san and his scalpels, with that silly promise you made to a dead man. Living in the light while using methods from the dark.”
The reflection smiles. All too wide and inhuman. Sickly sweet yet poisonous cold.
“Do you honestly believe you have escaped your roots?”
Tick tock.
Dazai blinks for a moment. The world changes in that moment. In that moment, he sees black blood in his hands, a gun holstered on his hip, and the tantalizing weight of a black trench coat all familiar with him.
He blinks. The world refocuses to normal.
Tick tock. Tick. Tock.
“You have always kept your distance from t h e m right?” Dazai did not need a second to know what his reflection was referring to.
“Being in this so-called light, is too exhausting, ne? It’s better to keep your cold ex t e rio r to places where it belongs. Unlike here, you have to play the goody-goody two-shoes part, it’s not that hard.” The reflection clad in black hums, as though he was thinking. (DdDoO yYYyoU reALLly thINk he NEEds thInking?!?!)
“But it becomes boring. And boring is safe. Which means,” As though wind had entered the small hallway, he shivers like there was a hand that placed itself on Dazai’s shoulder.
“You crave for danger. The temporary excitement it gave.”
For a second, the voice was speaking twice at one. Two highly different voices contrasting one another to create a voice that only something made from n i g h t m a r e s can do.
“You aren’t real.” Dazai says. Too soft to be heard. The man clad in black raises a brow.
“You really need to learn your lessons. But perhaps, I’ll be the one to teach you.” His reflection began to fade but Dazai had caught on to the message.
“N-no, I still need to do this for Odasa-” Dazai’s eyes shrunk, fear coursing through him
“And then what? Our talents are to be used for fun g a m e s and enjoyable p u z z l e s, not some weak-ass detective questions.”
Dazai’s consciousness was beginning to fade and in the back of his mind was darkness and blood taking over the rest of him.
“N-no…” he could only stand and stare at his hands.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to restore what we’ve lost.”
His vision was beginning to fade to black. He… he was surrendering his body to a will he cannot stop.
Tears started to form in the corner of his eyes.
“Odasaku…”
“Yes, your blood is Mafia black. Let’s go home, shall we?”

Inheritance
@mirei191 it is done bit i hope to explain this once my mind stops muttering be itself. Lol hope you enjoy?
——–
“Your blood has always been Mafia Black, Dazai-kun. After all, you are groomed to be my succesor. Isnt that right… my son?” Collective gasps of shock could be heard in the whole of the area. If Dazai closes his eyes and pretends that nothing matters, it may only be his chance of escape. Mori had reopened his past wounds and had worsened it by calling him his son.
The fear of rejection and malice… thats silly coming from him.
“Oh? Didn’t you know that the Old Boss was his grandfather too?” Dazai avoids looking at the faces of horror from the ADA. Tension from Port Mafia members, old and new, were built. The sadistic gleam in Mori’s poisonous purple eyes was sending everyone chills and fear coursing through their bones. The cold calculating mask of an Executive (executioner–) had faltered slightly.
He stands beside Mori, as his right hand man, as his Executive, as the other half of Soukoku, but not as his son. He never was his son.
“Not only that he was also the Demon Prodigy - and he still is - also the other half of the legendary duo Soukoku.” Mori says amusement and mock all hitting him in the right places.
Kunikida was the most affected of all.
“No, I refuse to believe that Dazai would kill somebody!” He says as disbelief and faith for his partner was evident. Dazai badly wants to go to the ADA and forget everything that had happened.
If only.
“He has a criminal record of almost a thousand crimes. Not even counting the ones that are unsolved for years. Like father, like son. That’s what they say.” Mori says with a too-wide smile.
Suicide really was the best solution to find a way out.
“Enough chit-chat, you still have to pick a suit for tomorrow. Now, lets do some training back at HQ, Dazai-kun.” The brunette can feel himself going to hurl but refrains himself from the sudden affectionate contact.
A pat on the head was the signal.
“I’m sorry.” He barely registers the words coming out from him. The ADA, the family thats accepted him even after knowing he was a former mafioso and now, has a look of betrayal that just breaks his heart. He was going to trigger the bomb behind them as they have been cornered. Mori had intended to end the ADA once and for all. He had faith that the ADA will survive this.
He was the one who designed this plan after all.
The coldness of the void from his heart was making him freeze. His lack of ability to register emotions amplifying it to sheer agony. And seeing himself become a puppet for Mori?
No. It doesnt matter. He will trade his freedom to protect the ADA and Yokohama.
“Dazai-san!”
His dull brown eyes look up to see his former subordinate. The boy whom he had grown to cherish. Mori and the other members had already left but he knows that Mori-san wasnt hiding his presence. He will need to be careful.
“We… we’ll get you back! We promise!”
That is where he sees the true effects of the light. And seeing the ADA determined? His freezing shell, for the first time… had felt the slivers of warm sunlight.
The similarities of past and present could sometimes be overwhelming but it has finally shown some good too.
BOOM!
Dazai smiles for the first time.
“Thank you so much….
But goodbye.”
(Dazai realizes the similarities between odasaku and Atsushi.)

The best part of the story is a happy ending 🥰
| “Your wish has been fulfilled. You have subdued my heart. Trust between men is not just an empty illusion. I, too, would be your friend. Say you will let the league of love be three.”
Cheers and shouts of “Long live the king!” arose from the crowd. And out of the cheering throng, a young maiden stepped forward bearing a red cloak. When she held the cloak out to Melos, he could only look at it in bewilderment. His friend, true Selinuntius, was quick to explain.
“Look at you, Melos – your clothes are gone. Put on the cloak. This pretty maiden can’t bear to have everyone see you that way.”
A scarlet blush mantled the hero’s cheek. |
Run, Melos!
