She allowed herself to be hugged and swayed, sinking into it. She knew that there were ways to fix her problems, but.. Everything seemed like so much right now. Unsolvable, hard, unpleasant. Her frown deepened and she closed her eyes once more.
"Why can't I do anything right?" She questioned, quietly. A part of her didn't mean to say it, but she let it out anyways. She didn't elaborate, staying stuck in her head.
School was always difficult. She wasn't any good at languages (japanese or english), and she couldn't do math to save her life. The math that was needed for most science always managed to stump her, too. The only thing she excelled at was P.E, and that didn't seem to count for much. Well.. She did have a basic grasp on home economics. But only because that was mostly cooking, and Saburo had taught her some of that already. She wasn't great, but not horrid either.
She didn't fight with her friends often, but when she did, it always took its toll. She valued her relationships highly. It sucked when there was genuine strife between her and the ones she loved.

Saburo looked over at his younger sister, sentence he was dictating to his phone cut off halfway. There was a loading sound, followed by ‘Sorry, I didn’t catch that?’ in a nearly-real voice. He shut the screen off absentmindedly, nodding to her and opening his arms.
It wasn’t often she directly asked for comfort, but it was better to provide it now and ask questions later. He tucked her into his arms gently, resting his chin on her head.
“I got you, Jiro.”

raising-ikb: "Where's your stash?"
[... Continued.]
She blinked up at him. Was this a joke? Some sick ruse to get her to fess up to where she kept things hidden in the most private of her sanctuaries? She frowned, clearly mulling it over, before she pulled an arm from the nest and pointed to her closet.
"Top drawer, left side. In the blue and white striped one," she said. The grinder and her stash were tucked under the cup of one of her bras, in the stack of drawers that were tucked neatly into her closet, to save room. She figured it was a safe enough place to keep that sort of thing. Most people didn't go digging around other's underwear.

Jiro squinted as her ringer went off, a short noise that indicated it had been a text. Feeling around the blanket for her phone, she found it and held it up to her face, light illuminating the dark room.

She sniffed the air, the smell of pot evident. She hadn't realized it would carry to Saburo downstairs.. At least, she thought he was downstairs? Whatever.

raising-ikb: "Do you want to tell me what happened?"
[... Continued.]
Jiro looked back at him for a moment, frowning, then sighed again. She turned her gaze back towards the door, her bag of sports equipment set by the frame. "Got into a fight with Emiko," one of her school friends. They hung out outside of school, too, but moreso at school. Sometimes they'd skip together to smoke or go to the arcade, but Saburo didn't need to know that.
"Was too distracted to be any good at practice, so coach sent me home early. Told me to clear my head.." She pulled her ponytail the rest of the way out, then ran her fingers through her hair to straighten it a bit. It fell down her back, heavy and a bit oily. She hated how quickly it got greasy. Made her feel gross. She was gross. Gross.
"Flunked the math test." She added, a bit quieter. She had studied. She really had. But it hadn't been enough- she still didn't understand how to work some of the equations. Some days she wished she could be like her brother. Drop out of school, do something else. But he insisted she finished, and regardless of whether she admitted it aloud or not.. She wanted to make him proud.
Ugh.

A huff, then a shifting of the blanket. She peeked her head out from under the pile, peering at Saburo through the dark of the room. Her window shades were drawn, leaving it in relative darkness despite it being early afternoon. She stared for a long moment, then moved to burrow back into her blanket burrito.
"You seem to be.." She trailed off, searching her mind for a comeback. Her head felt fuzzy. Light. Pleasant, but vaguely annoyed at being interrupted so soon into her high. ".. I dunno. What's the word?" Pause. "Pretentious? As usual." She wasn't sure that's the word she was looking for, but it'd do.

She gave a short noise, something akin to a grunt. Moving her head after a pauss, her face now turned to the side so she could speak: "Stupid school," she said. "Stupid friends. Stupid brain." A simple thought followed- 'stupid me'.
She sighed, soft and barely audible, giving another squeeze before moving to pull back and away. The hug had done the trick in at least quelling some of the anger and frustration she felt. The lingering feeling of upset stuck, but not quite as badly.
She raised a hand to tug at her ponytail, which had been pulled up for her sports practice from earlier. She'd immediately gone to Saburo when she got home, not having bothered to change out of her uniform or fix her hair. She grimaced at the damp feeling of sweat in her thick locks. She'd need a shower before bed.

Jiro squinted as she heard movement coming from downstairs, then feet on the staircase. She looked to her left and down, at the colorful bong that was situated on the floor between her desk and bed, though still in clear view from the door. She paused, surveying it, then sighed. If he was coming up to her room anyways, she was already damned. No point.

Jiro relaxed, if only slightly, into her elder brother's arms. She nestled in under his chin, closing her eyes and breathing in slowly. One breath in, one breath out. Focusing in on that, she looped her arms around him, a gentle squeeze following the action.
She didn't often seek comfort from others– it wasn't quite in her character. She was a headstrong sort of girl, refusing help even when she most likely needed it, determined to prove she could function completely fine on her own. This quality had only worsened as she came into her own, an older teenager only a year away from being an 'adult'. She especially seemed, at times, hesitant to seek out Saburo. 'I'm not a baby', she'd say occassionally, a huff to emphasize her frustration.
Today was different, though. It had been a tough day. A fight with a friend, a shitty grade on her math test, and self-conscious thoughts plagued her, eating away at her mind and heart. She said nothing, simply holding their positions, thoughts still running through her mind at what seemed to be a mile a minute.
