Art first and then design! Bye introduction to design because I'm in design right now  <3
I came to the end of my first semester in the interior architecture department. I didn't know what to learn and design, and I was afraid. Now I know that design involves a lot. It is very important to see and feel the design and to appeal to people with design. Every lesson I saw and every homework I did was very important to me. I learned designs and designers. And I learned how many things design connects to. Art first and then design! I belong to this faculty. If I'm not good enough, I hope I get better. As I learn, I want to belong to this section. Thank you for everything, my teachers! See you introduction to design!

ECOLOGY AND DESIGN / SERKAN BAYRAKTAROĞLU
Resisting Perceived Obsolescence
I deal with this issue through technological products. For example, every time the Apple brand launches a new iPhone model, people change their phones to have the latest model. If I give an example from myself, the product that changed this for me was "Airpods". Although the updated version is available, I bought the old one and I insist on not buying a new one. For me, the update is unnecessary and useless. It doesn't go out of style because it is suitable for everyone, but in the new version, the plastic parts disturb some people.

2 QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SEMINARS #WEEK12

GENDER AND DESIGN / YAĞMUR YILDIRIM
Sexism is still an ongoing problem today. I don't think any difference changes us enough to separate the genders. The important thing is to be human. "Build bridges, not walls." Build bridges because let's communicate. Let's tear down the walls. Ignorance and prejudice have taken hundreds of people away from us. What if we didn't have walls? If we were curious about the ideas, dreams or future of that person, not their gender. Maybe nobody would die then. Sexism wouldn't be a killer either.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are advertisements and organizations about sexism in Turkey.
However, is something changing? Maybe.

KNOWLEDGE PRODUCTION AND ART & DESIGN / AYŞE EREK

The Lingering Drama of the Body
                                           Galerie Nordenhake
                                                      Berlin
This exhibition brings together the human body and nudity with photographic art. The harmony of the photos and the tones with each other, the design of the exhibition looks very good. Being in that exhibition made me feel an immense sense of reality. It seems like art and design have replaced the feeling of shame. It is an exhibition where the public can be both found and visited. '' This is not a voyeuristic gaze; the nudity is not sexualized nor staged photographically. ''

PERFORMATIVE INTERVENTIONS / ASSOC. PROF. ZEYNEP GÜNSÜR YÜCEİL
Theatre and my family
I am interested in theatre. Especially before the pandemic, I often went to theatres. I watched Gogol's "The Diary of a Madman" from many people, especially my own teacher. Then, in 2018, we had the opportunity to watch from Genco Erkal with my family. My mom and dad were people who had worked all their lives and had just started to devote time to art. Genco Erkal deeply affected both my family and me in terms of our commitment to the theatre. After that day, we went to watch Genco Erkal whenever we had the opportunity. The fact that a person has spent more than 60 years on the stage is reflected in his acting and every emotion and every gesture of him is very sincere to you. I already had a love for theatre, and it made me very happy to have it in my family.

ART TECHNOLOGY DESIGN? / EKMEL ERTAN
Charles ‘’Chuck’’ Csuri
Sineman Two
1967
It is a very nice design. In fact, when you look, you can see and think a lot. Not only the use of lines, but also the use of spaces is very nice. That’s why I chose this design. As soon as I saw it, I thought ‘I wish it was my design’’. Aesthetically very strong. It’s actually hard, and from another angle, pretty soft.

MIDTERM #2
Perspective
In my opinion, perspective exists in every aspect of our daily life. I wanted to add photos in an area that I think is the most. Architecture. Perspective is mostly used for drawing in architecture. Even inside our homes, perspective gives a 3-dimensional effect. Perspective in daily life can cause some eye errors or illusions. When I look at this photo, I can see which wall is behind or in front of the other. I can understand the position of which items on the part of which wall. Actually I have never been in that room, but thanks to the perspective, items and the walls can even tell me the size of the room. I can distinguish the depth, integrity, dimensions in the photograph thanks to the perspective drawing and color. However, if this was a colorless photograph or a drawing, I would still see it in 3 dimensions on a 2D plane.

MIDTERM #1
Sensory Space
First of all, I have never been to the location of the apartment in this photo. However, it was my wallpaper for a long time. I don't know where this building belongs. But when I look at this photo, I feel that I belong here too. The concept of "sensory space" reminded me of this photo because it can make me feel this. There are stages in the relationship of our senses with space. First we perceive, then evaluate, then we turn these senses into emotions. In a concrete space, all our feelings are abstract, but our feelings and space are so equal that we don't feel this difference. The atmosphere of the space, its aura, its smell, its color, what it reminds ... Sometimes, when I cannot use my senses even where I am in real life, this photo invites me to feel and dream. When I look at the photograph, I can hear the voices of the couple hugging and laughing, the young girl listening to music, the boy reading a book, and the sobbing of my neighbor who is crying and preparing breakfast. I feel this photo. I can smell the egg they cooked for breakfast. I can understand the depth of cracks in the building wall without seeing or touching it. I can be in that area both by feeling a lot and looking at the photo. This apartment describes my disappointment but it completely defines the sensory space for me no matter what.

2 QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SEMINARS #WEEK6
1. Which aspect of the Grand Bazaar is stronger than the others? Commercial, cultural or historical?

HOW IS A SPACE SENSORIALIZED IN TERMS OF SENSES? / DR. ÜMİT HAMLACIBAŞI
GRAND BAZAAR AND MY FIRST SENSORY WALK
If I can freely translate my senses into my emotions in the area I am in and if that space is not limited to the walls for me, it is sensory place. I had to go to a shopping mall today. They are all the same. It's not even possible to feel emotion when you are in them. It is not possible to have a sensory walk in them. I can not compare the Grand Bazaar with other shopping centers. In Turkey, we say ‘’Kapalı Çarşı’’ for the Grand Bazaar. I think it is wrong. Because for me it's like it doesn't have walls or doors. The feeling I felt was eternity. An endless bazaar, endless kinds of people, infinite different things, endless different moments. It impressed me both commercially, culturally and historically.

AGROS ISTANBUL & EARTHABLE IN 5TH ISTANBUL DESIGN BIENNIAL / ASLIHAN DEMİRTAŞ
It is a beautiful agricultural area set with a table and soil. There are trillions of creatures living on it as bacteria, nematodes, protozoa and kilometres of mycorrhiza. And I can feel the word earthable, which is derived from the verb 'to earth' when looking at the project. I really liked the colors and shapes. This is a table but as if alive and alive. Soil and the idea of the project made the table a living.

DESIGN AND EXPERIENCE OF BEING TOGETHER / EYLÜL ŞENSES
First of all, the 'point cloud' project caught my attention and I had a smile on my face while reviewing the project. One of the main reasons is that it is so close to my home. I started to examine the project because it caught my attention as a location. I love that this project is perceptual and funny. Not boring and well thought out. It also caught my attention that this project is about today's advanced technology. So it has a machinic side as well. It is a versatile project and can appeal to everyone. It looks nice.
Edit: After I sent the assignment, I went to Beşiktaş coast. It is 5 minutes from my house. The "Point Cloud" project had already been adopted by the public. I had the opportunity to examine and experience the project at length.
