“Before I ever started painting and before I even started taking drawing seriously, I was in love with the idea of painted animation. Frame by frame, each painting coordinates with the one before and the one after to create life. I still have a lot to learn and there are a lot of technical things I don’t know and will improve on but I like this start. Forget thoughts, focus on actions. Regarding this specific animation I really love the shapes of the shadow on the ground.” - Dilhaar

it’s literally so easy to acknowledge that the history and reality of contraception are littered with misogyny and racism and simultaneously understand that birth control was and still is a fundamental tool for female emancipation like it’s not hard at all

Perhaps it's just because I'm a short woman who happens to enjoy both frilly dresses and sex, but I get so mad when people say Ariana grande or Sabrina carpenter are encouraging pedos by uh .... being short, enjoying cute things, and enjoying sex. I'm sorry some adult women are very cute and hot and like sex. And it literally has nothing to do with children. The people accusing them of being creeps are the ones inserting children into the discussion at all. (hyumjim voice) And I'm NOT supposed to be creeped out by that???

there's this horrible school of attempted literary criticism on here that holds that 1. everything in any given author's work is autobiographical, especially if it seems "real" and 2. those themes seeped into the work subconsciously, revealing something about the author that they're either trying to hide or unaware of themself. it drives me up a wall, since it seems to deny the fundamental skills that make people good writers: the empathy to imagine and portray experiences that one hasn't had oneself and the ability to take one's personal emotional experiences or worldview and fold them, consciously, into the unworked clay of a narrative.

"we should talk about platonic soulmates more <3" FALSE we need to be blogging about heartbreak so bad you throw up on the side of the road brokeback mountain style. we need to blog about obscure fetishes nobody has ever heard of. and dry humping. and finally we MUST talk about crossdressing while getting married in vegas.

Right? I have seen people unironically - I repeat, unironically - call themselves "proud cisphobes", "proud man haters", and so on, and the language they use underneath those labels is appalling.
Men should die.
Cis people should get hit by a bus.
(Brownie points if they say "the down with cis bus" to flavor it up).
Wealthy people should die, literal parasites. Who cares if they came from a family with generational wealth, they're ~complicit~ and should get stabbed.
Catholic people should be trapped in a burning building.
People give reddit a lot of shit, but the one good thing about reddit? Your comment will get removed immediately if you said something like that, especially if you wished death on them. (Trust me, I report a lot of shit on there, towards trans people, cis people, minorities and majorities, basically, and it happens like clockwork every time. The person's account gets whacked and it's so satisfying.) Apply this to tumblr, half the accounts on here would get suspended or nuked overnight.
These people would not survive an actual law banning "hate speech".
Posting as a response to a previous ask.
