the thing is fundamentally everything is unfair for sasuke because there's no good decision he can make. from the beginning this is established. and no one ever tries to help him make sense of this. taking revenge? thags what itachi wants. not taking revenge? would dishonour his family. and then after he finds out protecting konoha? well they destroyed his brother. destroying konoha? well that's where his friends live. and also thats what his brother gave everything for. when he gets back if he leaves he's disappointing his friends, himself and itachi. if he stays hes betraying his family, himself and itachi.

I hate romanticizing Itachi's forehead pokes.

And honestly, everytime I see Itachi do it, or Sasuke doing it for Sakura, or Sakura doing it to Sarada, or Sasuke doing it for Boruto, I always feel sick.

Not because I hate Itachi or anything, but from my point of view, I feel it's a symbol of a promise Itachi knew that he can't fulfil. He would tell Sasuke that he'll train with him later, but he never trained with him later, and before he died, he said, maybe next time, but there was no next time.

To me, it's a symbol of tragedy, a symbol of one knowing the horrors of the truth while the other is waiting for the lie to become truth, it was never supposed to be about love.

A pattern that I've seen in the Naruto fandom over the years, is that everyone wants their "favorite character" to be Sasuke.

What I mean by this is that when you see a rewrite of a minor character like Sakura, Neji, or anyone of the other konoha 11, its usually something along the lines of " oooh what if they left the village and got back at all the people that hurt them and joined the Akatsuki!!!"

You mean Sasuke? Why not just talk about Sasuke? Clearly you don't like your fave that much If their traits are so interchangable to you, and those traits also very clearly belong to Sasuke. So why not just discuss Sasuke instead?

One reason i can find for this, is that people Interpret Sasuke as slightly arrogant since we're percieving the story from Naruto's side, who sees everything Sasuke does as arrogant, because he didn't understand him and his goals for a large part of the story. But its also up to the reader to see things like these? Tbh i just don't get it. People hate Sasuke, but want all of their faves to be sasuke.

This is going to be a rant post, so don't mind me much, but I'm tired that the Naruto daily accounts on Twitter keep using THAT meme mocking Naruto saying Sasuke was the person that understood him the most.

I guess it's my fault for reading the comments too, but it's so disappointing that most of the general fandom did not even watch the show, right?

Even outside of the SNS shipping lenses, it's just pretty clear Sasuke was the person that understood Naruto the most, and by the end of the show, Sasuke also admitted Naruto was the person that understood him (the iconic "I know your heart and you mine" hello?)

That's also why I mostly follow SNS accounts, it feels like only this part of the fandom actually paid attention to the author's intent of this series.

It is so crazy to me when people say that Naruto's affection towards Sasuke is one sided or Naruto really overestimated Sasuke's role as a friend.

Sasuke, right after Iruka, was the first person who was kind to Naruto. Yes, in his own little arrogant way, but still kind. Everything leading to Sasuke sacrificing himself literally in Lans of Waves was showing us this.

Let's start with initial draft for the second chapter, Kishimoto actually wanted to introduce Sasuke right there (without Sakura and Kakashi) to the point where he outlined the whole story.

Sasuke not only saved Naruto from bullies, he actually saved hitai-ate that Iruka just gave. With this he also in a cheeky way recognized Naruto as someone worthy being ninja. Second person after Iruka.

But even if we don't take it in mind, since this wasn't published that time, right after we see Sasuke feeding Naruto at the rist of loosing Kakashi's test. Mind you, Sasuke's goal was to become stronger, and risking this just to help Naruto is actually huge.

Even in moments that where we see Sasuke being a bit mean to Naruto, it's always has this underlayer of actual kindness behind it. After being attacked (and saved by Sasuke again), Naruto was actually spiriling and in a stupor because of fear, and it was Sasuke's teasing that snapped him out of it.

We see them using teasing as a way of cheering up each other a lot after land of Waves too.

Sasuke was also the one training with Naruto and once again saving him (from a fall that probably won't hurt Naruto that much but still).

And in the culmination of this very first arc, what Sasuke does? Saves Naruto once again, this time at the cost of his life (as we thought at that moment).

When you put it all back to back, you can't not understand why Naruto considers Sasuke his best friend and second after Iruka. Sasuke was the first one (after Iruka) to show kindness and acceptance to the boy who almost never saw it from anyone else.

You know a few different times I’ve been asked what my biggest regret in life is and I usually say “I don’t know” but that’s a lie. A fat lie. My biggest regret is one time in 7th grade I broke a glowstick and drew a heart with Sasuke’s name in it on my bedroom wall but if that’s not bad enough you know glowsticks usually fade after a day, right? Well not this one- this one stained the wall so even at a grown ass adult there’s Sasuke’s name in a goddamn giant ass heart on my wall as erasable as the shame in my heart.

I genuinely can't believe when people say Sasuke was too edgy and mean. No. That boy should've been MUCH more mean and edgy. Him telling Sakura she's annoying is nothing, him calling Naruto an loser is also nothing. This boy had his whole clan, which means close AND extended family, killed in one night. By one person that he trusted the most. Already enough to be justified in literally anything you say. And then later on that same brother comes back and tortures you some more. And you end up in coma. You wake up, and your Sensei starts speaking some "revange isn't good" bullshit. Then later on in life, you find out that not only was massacre a government ordered genocide, but they also GROOMED your brother into doing it. And then used him as a scapegoat. So naturally you go and kill that guy who ordered genocide of your clan. You kill his ass, then your old teammates show up, chick that's saying she loves you tries to kill you. Your supposed best friend can't take a hint and leave you alone. Your Sensei is again taking bullshit about "going down the dark path".

And this is not mentioning all the other bullshit my boy had to go trough.

All of this combined, and it's unreasonable that he didn't have even more crash outs. After all this shit he should've been genuinely unhinged and high-key insane.

crazy how kakashi literally was like "your loved ones are more important than the state/your missions" and the only one on team 7 that consistantly acted on that principle (including kakashi himself) was sasuke

I don't understand the people who ships BoruSara but hates SNS, I mean BoruSara are the cheap hetero force couple version of SNS. Never forget that.
