I think what some people forget when they call others "Harry haters" is that at first we were ALL absolutely on board with Harry's solo stuff! The pink, flowery aesthetics, & the insightful, artistic lyrical imagery in SOTT and SC felt so much like what we hoped and wanted for/from him! The conflict only arose as soon as the stunts kicked in & the lyrics from the rest of the album went in a blunt, stereotypical direction. Which, by the way, is the same image we ALL fought against before w/ 1DHQ.

Nothing is black and white.

And for some reason people who have lodged complaints about troubling lyrics, and manipulative promo, have been ostracized, and called some pretty awful names.

I have supported Harry with my money; I have supported him by reblogging posts of performances and lovely parts of his promo. I have composed original posts about things that I have loved.

I am a complex person, with complex thoughts, and publicly all I’ve stated is that I still don’t like some of the lyrics, and I think there’s been some manipulative promo tactics. I’m a big girl and I understand big business so whatever.

But you’re right – it’s ok to say you don’t like the lyrics and some of the new imagery– it really is. It doesn’t make you a Harry hater, no matter what other blogs tell you. Life would be hard if you had to LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYONE YOU LOVED. People you love make choices you disagree with, and do things differently than you would like ALL THE TIME.

We’ve been discussing these things for years now; why it’s suddenly the third rail in this fandom I guess is beyond my pay grade.

It makes me so sad when there are really really good people who would love nothing more than to have a genuine conversation with Louis, and yet here are fans who are stalking him multiple days in a row just for a photo and the chance to tweet they met him again, like what do you really love, the attention and *prize* or, finally seeing the person you claim to love and support and having the chance to speak with him like a decent normal human being…..
