well yeah i have a pet hydra and it only has one head. i'm not going to cut its head off just to make it look cooler, you asshole. that's seriously unethical. and i'm not letting you cut its head off either. if you really want a hydra with multiple heads, you should go for a rescue- but if you want your pet to look cooler at the cost of its physical health, maybe you shouldn't get any kind of pet at all. no, the hydra's not for guarding my evil tower, it's my pet. have you ever heard of a pet? like a puppy or a kitty? you think i can't defend my evil tower by my self?

Obligatory AI hate post bc I intend to be even more annoying about this
#if it's used as a supplementary tool to assist surgeons (not do surgery for them) that's one thing#it should not be used as a substitute for thinking or creation#and generative AI is very specifically theft#fwiw it doesn't understand what it makes or how/why anything is done#I saw an AI essay that was being used as an example of a rubric perfect example for students and it was horrendous#it understood that 'although some may claim x--y is a better argument' worked in thesis templates#AI didn't know that a thesis is the last sentence of an introductory paragraph or why#it didn't know you need to give a couple of reasons why something is a better argument and then use evidence to support that later#so your paper shows what the counter argument is and why it exists then shows the stronger argument in answer and why it's stronger#your introductory paragraph needs to start with a hook in the form of raising questions the reader needs to keep going to answer#there need to be one or two sentences to transition from that general hook to your specific thesis#then your thesis which the paper provides evidence to prove#for a persuasive essay asking which of two articles was better the AI opened claiming both used facts and opinions#the sentence where the thesis was supposed to be posed that one argument was better than the other but gave no reason#throughout the essay each paragraph gave examples and quotes to show both facts and opinions were used by both articles#it didn't seem to identify what was fact or opinion correctly consistently either#and even if it had that has nothing to do with which argument was more effective for the prompt#The body paragraphs each opened with the same sentences. Occasionally one or two words different.#Student had some credit docked because of not varying sentence structure enough then the sample did that crap.#Sat w/ the students and broke down how you could tell it was AI and why it didn't work but it genuinely feels like educational malpractice#They're grading with AI to try and cut costs and human review time#Meanwhile essay length requirements aren't realistic for time given because they cut out human processing time#and writing time too tbh

Weapons. Trained, tested, forged in steel and fire. Failure is an inevitability that ends in death. Pain should not be felt--it should be recognized, familiar, and inconsequential
Martyrs. In the form of servants and princes, of leaders and underdogs. If blood is necessary, the martyr will lift their hands and offer it all
Shields. Like tempering a sword, but only to bear and not to lash out. Wounds are medals--not symbols of pride, but symbols of worth. A pretty shield is useless; scars mean a job well done
Experiments. Raised on the cold comfort of a lab table. Restraints are only necessary when they're not in their right mind. Is it honorable, to be twisted beyond recognition? Or is it just a necessary evil?
Monsters. Cruelty, caution, and regarding one as a creature beyond reasonable thought is tempering in its own right. But if you keep a leash at the right length, perhaps the massecre won't reach you. One can hope.
Idols. Pretty face, pretty name, pretty hands around their shoulders and throat. There to seduce, manipulate, force any feeling to come to the surface and twist it to their favor. Any genuinity stays locked behind the guilded cage that surrounds their pretty little heart
Trophies. Status and wealth and the traditions that keep someone at their heels, on their knees, to display and serve and decorate one's ballroom.
Sacrifices. Drenched in honorable clothes, prepared and adored and cleansed. The gift of hope at the cost of one's life. Is it taken with no fight? How can you escape the ropes you were born in?
