Why seriously tell people to kill themselves when ‘deactivate your account’ is 1000x funnier and 1000x less shitty?

I feel like the appeal of saints is there's a little guy who went through exactly your problems you can ask for help and sometimes they're on a necklace for more immediate access. I am not catholic and have no particular connection to those sainted little guys though, but I do sometimes wish to tell my troubles to a silent yet supportive figure that perhaps can help but mainly offers solace. This is why the "oh Ariana, we're really in it now" meme speaks to me in a secular, spiritual, and stupid way. I too desire a poster of a distant pop culture icon with which to haplessly commiserate.

zoomers i am going to give you some fathrly advice: really plucked brows are coming back. dont do it. you cn permanently fuck them up and in 5 yrs when its not on trend you will look like shit. a groomed natural brow works in every era of fashion theres lots of ways to comb and style brows to trend without mangling them. im just saying this as someone who saw what happened to 80s moms who went crazy wth the tweezers

Imagine waking up everyday to see the news of how many of your baby brothers and sisters were found. Their bodies under your very feet.
Now imagine nobody cared. And imagine every single day that number grew. Every. Single. Day.
How would that feel? This will continue long past orange shirt day. This pain won't end. It's just a pain a daily pain us as indigenous people have to carry in our hearts. So many times a week I have to stare at these numbers and all I feel is my little cousins hair in my hands as I hold them. And listening to them play and know so many children never got that. How scared they must have been. How so many of their bodies were destroyed and burned to hide what was done to them. To children. Actual babies as young as 2. Fucking babies.
And that any of my siblings could easily have been one. How quiet my dad gets at times and I can feel his sadness. How often girls still go missing and I'm so scared that someday I'll be one. And I'll just be gone and no one will care. How I could wake up someday and one of my sisters will be gone just another picture on the news no one will care about.
We live like this every single day but we're the savages???
Please. Support and educate yourselves on indigenous issues. Most can't understand this pain but they can at least listen.

you know what’s funny. discord started as a gaming app. like it was so you could do voice calls during games. now it’s the home to hundreds of microcommunities’ drama the likes of which you have never seen

im obsessed with stories that have a fixed ending before they even start. stories with narrators who are crying as they tell it because there is only one way this can end.
there is only one way this can go.
stories where the characters might know how it all ends and beg the audience to change it, knowing they can't. stories where the characters are unaware, but given the people they are and the situations they're in- well, what else are they supposed to do?
stories that are loops. that start with everyone dying and getting back up again to do it one more time.
because this time, maybe, it will be different.
the narrator cries.

i am so baffled by the conversation i'm watching right now, where younglings* who assumed AO3 had an algorithm felt mocked and condescended to when informed no, AO3 does not push any content at any user, and so the younglings are now doubling down and stanning algorithm??? that thing where social media sites get money from advertisers the more shit you click on so they shove content at you that is theoretically to your interest but actually is content that will keep you clicking, including content that enrages you, because they don't care about giving you shit you like just about keeping you engaged as long as possible, and oh also did we mention this ties into the modern lack of data privacy, the algorithm is watching everything you interact with to profile you better for advertising to you, it's spying on you across platforms whenever possible, THAT algorithm,
really you want it to know what fanfic you read, too? good grief
*"younglings": I know none of my edits are going to reach the reblogs so I'll get dragged for this forever, but this was strictly descriptive as in users who are younger than me but not children or kids because you have to be an adult to be on the AO3 or at least you should be

Not to sound like an old fart here but my philosophy about video games is like. A kid living out in the middle of bumfuck nowhere with no internet access for miles should be able to purchase a game from walmart, take that game home, put it in their console, and play the whole game with all of its features and the only thing lack of internet affects is the inability to play online with others. Nothing else. They shouldn’t be missing entire chunks of the game becuase they can’t download a patch. The game shouldn’t be borderline empty or unplayable without a patch.
