Kokoro is taking her children to the aquarium <33 (she did NOT sign up to be a mother when she did in fact sign up to be a mother). also i feel like mikado and mikako (the happy version) would be very sibling core :D
the drawing is messy but i’ve been burnt out from artfight so i wanted to do something simple and easier (also this is the first time i’ve drawn mikako so apologies if she looks a bit off)

Big DR + Fangans Tier List
Ranking the three main canon games (Trigger Happy Havoc, Goodbye Despair, Killing Harmony) along with several of the bigger fangans (DRA 1+2, Eden's Garden, Despair Time, and Tetro Pink) next to each other. A few notes- I only wanted to use one icon per character. The only exception I made is Toko and Syo since they actually have DID and I felt like I couldn't combine them. That means Teruya, fake Yuki/ Utsuro, and Akane Taira for example, only have one icon that covers both forms. Also on the subject of Toko and Syo, I haven't played or watched UDG so I'm going only off of the first game where... yeah they are kind of treated like a joke. I am willing to answer questions about any placements.

Tetro Pink female character rant
I just need to get this off my chest. Not tagging it because I don't really want to spread a lot of negativity about a fangan a lot of people seem to love, but I've got multiple people on my dash that really like Tetro Pink and I need my opinion on it to exist somewhere because I haven't seen anyone who feels the same way.
There is a lot to like about Tetro Pink. The production values are phenomenal, including the voice work. The moment-to-moment writing is really solid and I find most of the characters likable and interesting.
I have never tried to get into a fangan before that seemed to care so little about its female characters in comparison to its male characters, and it drives me up the wall. I will be up front and say a big part of my issue with this fangan is that I had the death order spoiled for me, mostly through youtube thumbnails. Maybe if I was able to experience the story as it was meant to be paced I'd feel differently but. God fucking dammit. What do you mean a girl is murdered in every chapter with a murder victim. What do you mean there's only one girl who survives with four boys (yes I know what happens to Wada but he at least made it out of the game first). What do you mean the first THREE characters that die are all girls. What. Do. You. Mean.
This issue goes beyond the demographics of the death order, but how these characters are used in the story. Let's start with Isono Miki. Why does Isono die first, out of the entire cast? ...Well there's not a reason. She's standing in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's it, it could have been anyone. We're not told exactly what she was doing when Sasaki snapped and killed her. She was just there. The only reason Isono dies first, is because her entire function in the story is to die and make Wada sad. She's a really sweet girl but her character is mostly given meaning through Wada's grief, not... anything she actually does or thinks or feels. There's a word for that. It's fridging. And it's generally considered a shitty thing to do, especially to female characters.
Is her killer Sasaki handled any better? ...Not much. I do think Sasaki makes a lot of sense as a first killer, she's really high strung and if someone's going to lose control and snap it makes sense for it to be her. But this isn't really explored to any great depth. There's no one thing that sets her off. She doesn't kill someone who was getting on her nerves to any great degree. There's nothing special about the moment she snaps and kills. She just. Does. Her precise reasons for doing so are left deliberately vague. And why is that? So we can explore Yanagi's grief and confusion over her actions. That's right, the first chapter kills not one but two female characters mostly to explore the effects their deaths have on the male characters.
This is not how you Dangonronpa. Yes, exploring how your character deaths impact the people who survive them is important, but character deaths are most satisfying and impactful when characters fall for their own reasons. Canon DR doesn't treat its female characters like this, so it's really baffling to see it in such a well-regarded fan project. The very first murder victim in the canon series, Sayaka Maizono, is a girl whose death leaves a deep emotional scar on the male protagonist. But the difference is Sayaka is her own character. Her actions and her fears and her flaws and her dreams play directly into why and how she dies. That's how you kill a character without fridging them.
I had to stop watching Tetro Pink about halfway through Chapter 2. Because the story felt so heavily focused on a small number of characters, all men, and because I already knew the death order, it felt like this was how things were going to proceed. The female characters, especially Tsuno and Hayashi, felt like they were there to serve the men's character arcs, and since I knew they were going to die too that felt even worse. It's sad and frustrating because I love these characters but I just wasn't interested in watching that play out anymore.
I could go on because I do have another big Hiroaki shaped issue with this fangan, but I think I'll stop here so I don't lose focus. I wish Tetro Pink loved its female characters better. I am planning to give Tetro Blue a chance. I really hope it doesn't repeat this mistake.
