Sufyān Ath Thawrī (رحمه الله) said,

لا يذوق العبد حلاوة الإيمان حتى يأتيه البلاء من كل مكان

"The 'Abd (Slave) will not taste the sweetness of Imān (Faith) until calamities come to him from every place."

Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal (رحمة الله) was asked when ease comes. He replied that it is when you step into Jannah.

It is indeed ironic that at times we see those who do not believe in the Hereafter hold more heroic stands to what they believed in to the point where it became part of them like their flesh and blood, while those who claim for themselves a garden of heaven bigger than the sky and the earth cower and tremble away.

One must have resolve to what one believes in even if the pain and suffering reach their peak. One must have commitment to his belief even if those around him depart and abandon him. This is how one succeeds in the test, a similar test that Allaah (عز وجل) sent upon His messengers.

Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb said: "O' Allāh, if You have written me down as being someone who is miserable, then erase that for me; and instead write me down as being happy.

For indeed, You erase whatever You wish, and You write down and uphold whatever You wish."

وَمَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَآ إِلَّا لَهۡوٌ وَلَعِبٌۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ لَهِىَ ٱلۡحَيَوَانُۚ لَوۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡلَمُونَ

And this life of the world is only an amusement and a play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter - that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew.

Al-'Ankabūt : 64

ذَنْب يَذِلُّ بِهِ أحبُّ إِلَيْهِ من طَاعَة يُدِلُّ بهَا عَلَيْهِ.

A sin that humbles is more beloved to Him than obedience that brings pride.

لولا تقديرُ الذنوب هلك ابن آدمَ من العُجْبِ

If not for the preordainment of sins, man would be destroyed by self-amazement.

The following five things cure the heart:

The company of the pious

Recitation of the Qur'an

Keeping the stomach empty

Standing in Salah during the night

Weeping in front of Allah before dawn

Ibn Kathir رحمه الله said,

"No one will be admitted to Paradise by virtue of their deeds alone; that will be by the mercy and grace of Allah. But the varying ranks and degrees of Paradise will be attained according to one's righteous deeds."

𝘍𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘺 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴.

“Surely good deeds wipe out evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful.” [11:114]

شباب الأمة نصهم بالقيد ..

ونص في بحر الهواء غرقى

The youth of the ummah, half of them are in chains

And (the other) half are in the sea of desires, drowning

Every missed opportunity is a reminder that what was meant for you will never pass you by. Trust in Allah's plan, for He knows best what is truly yours.
